Chapter 513: Elves and Demons

They stayed in Booty Bay for two days, tried many delicious foods in the inns, Greed was obsessed with axe-throwing battles, although Jesse didn’t care much about his performance, he seemed to have made some silver coins at least, not at a loss because of the registration fee.

"He seems to have won against someone again, master," Molofeel sat across, looking at the group of axe-throwing enthusiasts in the distance and said, "That dwarf really has some skills."

"Are you also interested in axe-throwing?" Jesse asked.

"I am not interested in such competitions," Molofeel picked up a wine glass and took a sip of wine, saying, "But if the master wants me to give it a try, I am willing, because it is the master’s command, that is my greatest interest… just like drinking, I’m not interested in drinking, but as long as the master asks me to accompany you, it becomes enjoyable."

"When you’re drinking with someone, don’t say you’re not interested in drinking," Jesse said.

"Is this also a command?"

"It is a command."

"Alright, master, this wine is really…"

As they were talking, Molofeel suddenly looked alertly towards the entrance of the inn. Jesse thought a demon had appeared there.

He followed Molofeel’s gaze and saw a tall elf in a cloak at the door. Before he could wave, the elf walked straight towards them.

Among the crowd, Jesse’s position could still be seen clearly.

Did she see the succubus?

She must have seen it. Molofeel wasn’t invisible, sitting openly staring at her. She couldn’t have missed the demon.

The elf came closer, lifting the hood and glanced at the demon beside Jesse, then looked at Jesse and said, "I’m here, Jesse."

"So, this is the special partner you warned me to be prepared for?" Vereesa sat next to Jesse, looking at Molofeel. "Honestly, I made quite some mental preparations, but this is still a bit surprising."

"And me too!" Saenor popped up from under the table and said, "Ms. Vereesa, this is our first meeting, isn’t it!"

"Such a demon full of lies, we’ve clearly met before," Vereesa said, looking at the imp.

"Um." Saenor paused, looking at Jesse in confusion.

"Don’t you think it’s strange that you used a lot of magic to deal with the black dragon, then suddenly appeared above me without me noticing a thing, imp?" Vereesa squinted her eyes.

"Haha! I actually thought you didn’t see me!" Saenor chuckled.

"But I have never seen this Sayaad before." Vereesa asked, "Why didn’t you introduce me to him, Jesse? I thought you had summoned this demon a long time ago?"

"It has been a long time." Jesse said, "Back then, I was worried that if you thought I was a demon worshipper, you wouldn’t hire me."

"Your concern was valid." Vereesa said, "If I had known back then that you were associating with a Sayaad Demon, I definitely wouldn’t have continued to work with you. Even though I haven’t studied magic for a long time, I know about the demon invasion of Dalaran."

At this point, Jesse could sense the strong discontent in her tone.

"I cannot go to Kalimdor without her, Vereesa." Jesse whispered, "You know we are dealing with a Highborne that may be connected to Eldre’Thalas. If Quel’Thalas has any understanding of Eldre’Thalas, they should know there’s a problem there."

"An unknown demonic catastrophe," Vereesa said.

"Molofeel is a professional hunter who deals with demons," Jesse said. "Even I wouldn’t dare to say I’m better than her at tracking or fighting demons."

Vereesa frowned, hesitated for a moment, and then finally said, "Never mind, you have your reasons."

"And most importantly, she doesn’t ask for money," Jesse said. "Having a powerful helper who doesn’t need money, food, or water, what could be better than that?"

"I don’t ask for money either, master, I don’t care about money!" imp shouted.

"I didn’t say you don’t count," Jesse told Saenor. "If you keep interrupting me, I’ll stuff you in a bag."

"Leave it here," Vereesa said.

Jesse looked at her surprisingly and said, "Well, anyway Vereesa, I want our journey to Dark Portal to be as safe as possible. You’ve been there before and know what a Sayaad Demon can do. Her invisibility skills will be very helpful to us."

The elf’s lips moved, and after thinking for a while, she said, "Of course I know, and I’m here to help you complete the mission. I have no right to interfere with how you handle the Reliquary’s task, Jesse. I never expected you to have no connection with demons. They are very aware of what warlocks are like, just like the target we are tracking. They told me before I came."

"I’m curious, did no one notice any issues when you disguised yourself as Asselwin Goldenthorn?" Jesse asked.

Vereesa said proudly, "I have the support of the Silvermoon City Ranger-General this time, Jesse. Sunstrider just needs to take care of Silvermoon City and Quel’Thalas, no need to worry about other things, it’s annoying."

"General Sylvanas also supports you coming over?" Jesse exclaimed, "No wonder."

"Supporting from the shadows," Vereesa smiled, then her eyes unintentionally glanced at the succubus, her smile fading slightly.

"By the way, where is Greed Thunderfist?"

"He’s over there competing in axe throwing." Jesse pointed to a distance.

"Axe throwing? Sounds interesting, Jesse. I was feeling a bit bored here too," Vereesa said cheerfully, "I came rushing over and haven’t rested yet, but I’ll go play with him, relax my body and mind."

She looked over there and muttered softly, "Ah, how can there be trolls still!"

She then tossed her cloak on the table, stood up with a thud, and walked over there.

Looking at Molofeel, the succubus was clearly struggling not to burst into laughter.

"Why are you quiet?" Jesse said, "At least make a self-introduction or something, show some friendliness."

"I think it’s better not to speak in this situation, master." Succubus smiled.

Jesse took a deep breath and watched as the elf weaved through the crowd, gradually disappearing. He felt like he had provoked Vereesa this time.
