Chapter 230 Part 1: Charlotte, Our Daughter Is Very Understanding (1)

Charlotte blinked her eyelashes, reluctantly letting go of her small hand. She had just moved away from the lovely Honey Qing and already felt unsatisfied, unable to help but remember the soft feel of early spring tea buds. A little angrily, she muttered:

"I am curious, after all, you have grown bigger than me, Little Qing!"

Chu Yuanqing carefully arranged the folds of the fabric on her chest, using her small hand to place the fuzzy lantern outside her clothes. Her cold and beautiful face was calm and serious. If you ignored the tears still in her eyes and the blush filled with emotion, she almost looked like a strict school monitor.

The Pure White Witch quietly stepped back a few paces during this time.

Although she did not know why, Charlotte, like the other little idols, especially liked her true self. If she stayed that way, it might lead to some strange situations.

Even though she felt no dislike due to emotional reasons and the bond with her daughter, and even looked forward to being closer to Charlotte, doing this under the shade of the tree was just… too chaotic!

Speaking of which, in the illusion of the Sea of Truth, Charlotte did the exact same thing to her.

From this perspective, my understanding of Charlotte is indeed correct.

Chu Yuanqing quickly removed her Magic Armor with a shiver, changing her eye and hair color. She ignored someone’s regretful gaze and waved to shatter the magical barrier, softly saying:

"Let’s walk and talk."

"It feels a bit strange to be hiding in the shade of the trees. Didn’t you say you would take me to explore Vienna?"

As soon as Charlotte heard they were going out to play, she became joyful. She tossed aside her unfinished health check, took Chu Yuanqing’s soft hand quickly, and with a dazzling smile, she cheerfully said:

"Then let’s go! This time is filled with so many things we couldn’t see before. Before I got my memory back, I thought it was nothing special, but now everything feels so new. Since the afternoon isn’t over yet, let’s go take pictures together everywhere to remember this moment!"

Chu Yuanqing obediently followed Charlotte’s pace. Listening to Charlotte’s voice made her feel naturally happy and joyful. Upon reflection, apart from the time spent accompanying her daughter during childhood, she realized she had never had a chance to truly experience life.

And this cannot be called unhappiness.

Although the past 17 years have mostly been filled with taking the subway, shopping in supermarkets, cooking meals, and working, those small, boring tasks can become annoying over time.

But for her, it felt like another way to enjoy peace.

Chu Yuanqing’s personality is like that; she seems dull and easily gloomy, a person who, without her shine, even appears a bit boring.

Charlotte, however, is different; she knows how to enjoy life better, or perhaps she can more easily find joy in everyday things. Even as a housewife, she can turn the ordinary into beautiful sparkling gems, creating warm and happy, lively and vibrant melodies.

Chu Yuanqing looked at the graceful figure of the girl. Her Roman skirt flowed in the light, creating a beautiful outline, her arms and calves glowing with soft golden layers, even her hair shimmered as if it were a poem by Tagore, deep and gentle.

Even if time could turn back and oceans could return, she would still look the same inside.

Chu Yuanqing’s features softened as she smiled brightly; she tightly clasped that hand, and even the growing pain in her soul could not stop the sweet memories from flowing in her mind.

Charlotte, it’s so good to see you again.

If only I could… I want to tell you all about the past 17 years, I want Little Shu to join us in a life without worries about the end of the world, I want to travel the world with you and everyone else, to see the city that was once in ruins but is now filled with blooming flowers.

Chu Yuanqing’s eyelids drooped for a moment, but she kept her will strong and continued to control her body. Her thoughts drifted far away, like images on a carousel moving backward.

The memories about Charlotte, which she had tried hard to keep hidden from the curse, began to rise uncontrollably.

Chu Yuanqing’s beloved loved sweets, enjoyed singing and taking photos, and dreamed of becoming the best idol.

But in the orphanage, there were very few candies, no music or song sheets. The camera she received on her 17th birthday was a treasure pulled from the ruins, and the idea of an idol felt far away, something she could only hear about from adults.

It was a dim and broken childhood, mistaking the glass in the desert for gems.

Every day, someone left; every day was filled with turmoil and fear.

Although in the future, Charlotte was seen as reliable and strong by everyone in the city, always wearing a smile and bringing hope as a guardian, she remained that gentle and fragile girl.

Chu Yuanqing knew that she secretly loved to act cute and be lazy, and she had always been afraid of pain. Yet, on the battlefield, she tried hard to hold it in. She hated fighting and killing, and whenever she was sad, she pretended everything was fine, but when alone, she would look at those photos, remembering the ones who had passed, and couldn’t help but feel quietly sad.

Always passionate, always brave.

Never give up, never lose hope.

This is the real Charlotte, but it is also the lie she told herself.

Chu Yuanqing knows each other better than anyone else, which is why when she sees this girl awakened by the blessing called "The Burial," she cannot help but feel deep sadness.

Why did it have to be her to bear such a heavy responsibility?

Why did she have to witness so much bloodshed and encounter so many tragedies?

Chu Yuanqing didn’t want Charlotte to live in such a dirty, desperate, and crazy world, piled high with tragedies. She wanted her to live cleanly, in a shining, bright, peaceful, and happy time.

If every story has a moment of change, then the savior who reversed time, saved billions of lives, and opened up New Game Plus did so because of this initial obsession, which tamed the "Undying" and led to the following tale.

No one starts off as a saint.

The reason that boy first stepped onto the battlefield, staining his own soul, was just this.

The day after Chu Yuanqing awoke with blessings, she chose to end her life publicly. She did this to prove her power of immortality and to catch the attention of those in high places, gaining the chance to inherit a great legacy and receive the highly dangerous [Silver Mirror].

This is the fastest path to growth.

But the price is—Charlotte’s tears.

Chu Yuanqing suddenly came to her senses. She looked at the bright street corner and at Charlotte, who was happily buying a giraffe balloon. She returned a gentle smile but secretly asked herself.

"Charlotte, can you accept my death?"

Chu Yuanqing could not find an answer. She took the childish giraffe balloon and gently brushed a few strands of hair from Charlotte’s cheek. Her smile stayed the same as she leaned in and gave Charlotte a soft kiss by her lips, hiding her thoughts.

Charlotte did not react right away. She blinked in confusion, her gem-like eyes rippling like a lake, while her fair face turned a lovely shade of pink.

Quickly, the girl lifted her chin, pretending to be mature and reliable, as if she saw this as a "challenge." She puckered her lips and kissed back to hide her shy feelings. She poked the girl’s cheek and said softly, a bit nervously:

"Even though… I have always been looking forward to the date with Little Qing, if I don’t behave well! I can’t just kiss whenever!"

The Pure White Witch skillfully used her beauty to cast a spell on The Last Diva, enchanting her and hiding her flaws. With an expression that seemed innocent, she asked seriously and honestly:

"But Charlotte was like this before, and even worse."

Unfortunately, this trick was of no use against the girl, only inviting Charlotte’s annoyed face-squeezing attack.

Chu Yuanqing let herself be pinched, but inside she sighed with relief. Charlotte knew her too well; if she kept daydreaming because of the curse, it wouldn’t be long before her current situation would be completely guessed.

Chu Yuanqing didn’t intend to hide the truth, but she didn’t want the other person to know her exact date of death.

Four months was too short and too cruel.

At least now, she wanted to spend time with Charlotte in a more cheerful and happy atmosphere.

With this thought in mind,

Chu Yuanqing tried hard to forget her worries and strolled with Charlotte in the old town of Vienna. Both of them used beauty-enhancing magic, like a daring pair of fugitives, gradually abandoning all their concerns and fully enjoying this brief date.

"Little Qing, shall we go to Disney next time? I heard the summer celebration has a castle show!"

"Would you like some ice cream? Boss, I’ll have one strawberry and one vanilla!"

"Look, there are swans by the lake, and the riverbank is covered in graffiti. Let’s take a picture together here!"

Charlotte walked and stopped, pulling Chu Yuanqing to take pictures everywhere. She seemed very happy, as if she had completely forgotten about the disaster beast, Disaster Wave, the apocalypse, and magical girls, and was happily enjoying the warm afternoon in Vienna.

During this time, Chu Yuanqing gradually realized that Charlotte probably guessed a lot, so she didn’t bring up their previous topic. It seemed like she was avoiding something, but also wanted to enjoy the joy of their reunion a little longer before the mood turned heavy.

In this, both of them were in agreement.

Meanwhile, the young idols had already returned to the hotel with their equipment.

Kirimi Miyuki took the camera from Chen Xiaoxiao. She ignored the assistant sister’s curious and gossiping gaze, smiled politely, and then returned to the room. She watched a video where the heartless Pure White Witch embraced Charlotte as soon as she saw her.

Little Sakura felt a bit sad and lost. Xie Qingxuan’s words echoed in her mind as she began to look at the scattered memories that returned in her dreams, softly speaking to herself:

"Did I… know everyone before?"

This was truly a foolish thing, yet it had a strange kind of persuasion.

Kirimi Miyuki sighed. She felt that being jealous of Charlotte was meaningless. After editing the task video on the computer to make sure it wouldn’t cause a public stir for Honey Qing, she continued folding paper cranes.

In the next room,

Chu Wang Shu lay on the soft big bed. Perhaps it was the pull of blood ties, or maybe her inner gem was shining brighter. She began to uncover the blessings her mother had given her. Her mind was full of scenes of Honey Qing meeting Charlotte, and she felt an unusual warmth.

The lovely daughter rolled around on the bed. After a while, she turned and lay on her stomach, sending a message to her dad who should be working now:

"Dad, this sounds really strange, but I saw someone in Vienna who felt a lot like Mom."

"I care a lot. Could it be that I miss Mom too much? Can you show me a picture of Mom when she was young?"

Chu Wang Shu hesitated for a long time and then took back the second message. She didn’t want to make Dad uncomfortable; she just felt a little lonely. Hugging a pillow, she stared at the ceiling and whispered:

"If only… Little Qing were my mom, or even that big sister would be okay!"

After saying this, the girl felt a wave of embarrassment. She buried her head in the blanket, took some time to calm down, then sat up, patted her cheeks, and began her studies for the day.

However, during her studies, her thoughts often drifted to that sister and Chu Yuanqing, who had walked away with her, making the very disciplined and lovely daughter quite troubled.
