Chapter 208: The Emergence of Fortune

Inside the stone house.

Yi Chen focused intently on his training.

Around him, spirit stones had piled up into a small mountain.

With his current strength realm, even a single spirit stone was no longer enough to satisfy his demands for spirit energy.

First level of the Spirit Law stage, and second level of the Spirit Law stage…

Beside him, the Little Gold Ball, napping nearby, seemed to sense something.

It slipped off the wooden bed and hid in the corner under the bed.

A powerful pressure suddenly erupted from Yi Chen, uncontrollably sweeping through the area.

Boom!

In the sky, the wind and clouds roiled.

The ground trembled slightly.

Within a radius of several dozen kilometers, birds and beasts were startled, shivering in fear.

The tribe members, being experienced, quickly understood what was happening.

There was no trace of panic on their faces, only endless admiration and fervor.

They all fell to the ground in worship, celebrating that the great deity they revered had achieved another breakthrough.

In the Political Council.

The six Vice Councilors all turned their gaze toward the high priest.

The high priest, feeling triumphant, sprinted excitedly to the entrance, kneeling on the ground with his backside raised high.

His voice was loud and powerful, more devoted than the most sincere of believers:

“Our god reaches new heights, and I lead the people to celebrate for our god!”

Zhong Ren, Feng Yue, and the other Vice Councilors could only follow suit, kneeling down behind the high priest.

Fortunately, the high priest, now filled with confidence and enjoying life, did not remain kneeling as he did last time; he only worshipped for a few minutes before standing up.

“Has he broken through?”

“Truly worthy of Yi Chen; in just a month and a half, he has broken through to a new major realm. His lifespan cap has likely doubled again.”

“As his realm rises, the increasing difficulty of training is utterly of no use to him.”

“The Military’s ‘Tuition Plan’ and ‘suppression plan’ do not seem to be very effective. After the fifth round of Skill Teaching, Yi Chen spent only half a month making Spirit Pills before redirecting his focus back to his training.”

“Now that he has broken through to a new major realm, any new skills he creates will only be taught during the seventh round of Skill Teaching.”

“Judging by the training speed of top geniuses, even the top geniuses of the Flame Mountain Tribe, with the aid of Spirit Pills, will need about three years to break through to the first level of the Spirit Law stage.”

“Moreover, at the first level of the Spirit Law stage, Yi Chen might not even conduct the sixth round of Skill Teaching.”

“Potion making techniques may be easier, but for the new skill that sets up barriers, it seems the top geniuses of the Flame Mountain Tribe will only qualify to learn when they reach a high level of the Spirit Law stage.”

“Considering the training speed of the top geniuses from the Flame Mountain Tribe, the sixth round of Skill Teaching may take between three to fifteen years.”

“The seventh round of Skill Teaching could take over a hundred years.”

In the live room, the audience felt a mix of emotions.

Yi Chen’s recent breakthrough to a new major realm meant that the path of evolution for humanity had been extended once again.

But while the path has been expanded, how to walk it is in Yi Chen’s hands.

The announced time grows longer each time.

The Federation of Humanity can only hope that the Military will increase their efforts to shorten the teaching time for the new skills.

Inside the stone house.

Yi Chen quickly managed to suppress the overwhelming pressure that arose after his breakthrough.

The Little Gold Ball crawled out from under the bed and happily returned to Yi Chen’s side.

Yi Chen’s spirit power is its source of energy.

The stronger Yi Chen’s strength realm, the faster the Little Gold Ball can improve.

It can get stronger just by lying around.

A true winner in life.

‘The new major realm still seems a bit lacking.’

Yi Chen carefully sensed the principles of heaven and earth.

His understanding of the principles had clearly improved significantly with his breakthrough to a higher level.

But it still seemed a bit distant from his goal of creating skills that enhance fortune.

The higher the realm, the deeper his understanding of the principles, and the more he realized how immense the challenge of his thought truly was.

It was only after breaking through to a new major realm and vastly enhancing his comprehension of the principles that he vaguely began to understand.

Fortune, contrary to his initial belief of being a type of the power of the laws, is more accurately a product of the combination of the laws of fate and the laws of causality.

Fate is the beginning, process, and result granted to all living beings when the principles of heaven and earth operate.

But fate is not immutable.

The thoughts of living beings are one of the core mysteries of the universe.

They transcend the confines of fate and are not bound by it.

The thoughts of living beings are constantly changing, leading to countless variables in their actions.

To maintain ecological balance, the principles of heaven and earth form the laws of causality, which restrict the various different variables produced by living beings, keeping everything within a range that can be adjusted according to the law.

The laws of causality are like the legal regulations set by the principles of heaven and earth for all living beings.

The laws of fate are the scripts arranged by the principles of heaven and earth, allowing free play while constantly altering the subsequent content.

Fortune, therefore, is the driving force that causes changes in the subsequent content of the script during the free play of all living beings.

As long as actions have a positive effect on ecological balance, they will enhance fortune, leading to beneficial changes in the subsequent content of the script.

Actions that have a negative impact on ecological balance will decrease fortune, resulting in harmful changes in the script’s future.

The emphasis on ecological balance, rather than the laws and regulations set by the principles of heaven and earth, stems from the fact that these laws, including the laws of causality, can also change.

The ecosystem can be in early, mid, or late stages, each representing a different condition.

In the early stage, it is just beginning to thrive and requires more living beings to fill and consume resources.

Actions that increase the number of living beings and speed up resource consumption will be rewarded by the principles of heaven and earth, granting greater fortune for fate to develop positively; conversely, the opposite actions will lower fortune.

In the mid-stage, the speed of resource consumption reaches a balance with the living beings.

Only actions that maintain this balance will be rewarded with more fortune by the principles of heaven and earth.

In the late stage, there are too many living beings, and resource production cannot keep up with the consumption rate.

In this case, actions that destroy living beings and reduce resource consumption will be rewarded with greater fortune by the principles of heaven and earth.

After breaking through to a new major realm, Yi Chen gained a more intuitive understanding of fortune.

He even learned how to enhance his own fortune.

However, this enhancement only conforms to ecological balance and follows the heavenly rules to gain rewards from the principles of heaven and earth.

This is entirely different from his idea of directly extracting fortune from the principles of heaven and earth or taking the fortune of others.

The former is like being a worker, acting according to the whims of the principles of heaven and earth and earning rewards within the defined constraints of the laws of causality.

The latter involves truly stepping outside of causality and mastering the power to rewrite the script of fate.

The path of cultivation is against the heavens.

Holding the power to rewrite his own fate is also to touch the taboos of the principles of heaven and earth.

The difficulty is much greater than Yi Chen imagined.

At the very least, his current talent and strength realm are far from sufficient.

Yi Chen didn’t dwell on it.

Lacking in talent and strength realm makes overthinking useless.

Currently, he is just the leader of a human tribe with a population of tens of thousands, merely a small role in the entire planet’s ecosystem.

Even if he wanted to be a worker and rely on conforming to ecological balance for fortune rewards, the impact would be minimal, yielding little benefit.

Overthinking could lead to losses that outweigh any gains.

Just like various rare resources continually emerging, Yi Chen felt that this planet should be in the early stage of ecological balance.

To gain fortune rewards, naturally, he should do more good deeds and commit fewer killings.

When encountering fierce beasts, he should cherish and lift them high, taking the tribe members to help the weak and save those fragile beings, supporting their growth and breeding.

But this conflicts with Yi Chen’s expansion plan.

He must sacrifice one of the two, at most ensuring that during the expansion process, he does not create too much slaughter while not severely affecting the speed of expansion.

Thinking too much will leave him empty-handed.

Yi Chen bets that his initial fortune is strong enough to support him in unifying the entire planet.

Soon, he cast aside distracting thoughts and began to stabilize his realm.

‘What’s happening?’

He was surprised to discover that his divine consciousness seemed to have undergone a miraculous change.
