Chapter 353: Hidden Dangers of Tomorrow Society

Under the watchful gaze of a hundred thousand people,

Many 1st members took the stage, shining brilliantly.

Yuexin and Qi Lian, both strikingly beautiful, were not the only ones; each male 1st member had his charm, making their exceptional appearances seem insignificant compared to their real achievements.

Standing here, they were like pillars of stability, bringing peace to everyone’s hearts.

“Tomorrow will last forever!”

“Created by all of us together!”

“Today, we can finally say this—together we will open the door to a new path; tomorrow will last forever!”

Tian Jing’s opening words instantly ignited the atmosphere of the scene, bringing many to tears and causing them to shout fervently.

“For Tomorrow!”

“Tomorrow will last forever!”

The cheers were thunderous.

Those shouting were filled with boiling passion, making one wonder if Spirit Law had influenced them.

Tian Jing’s light blue cloak billowed, revealing the silver moon engraved on the inside. He opened his arms, his bronze face full of determination and smiles: “Everyone, perhaps many of you have not yet seen some of the 1st members here, nor understand why they have become 1st members, but they are all great individuals.”

“Our lives are closely related to these unsung heroes who have made immense contributions to Tomorrow, and before starting the ceremony, I would like to formally introduce these heroes to everyone!”

“First, our Second Seat, Liu Shanwei!”

Everyone quietly watched Tian Jing and the man to his right.

Most of them knew about the nine seats; in Tomorrow City, the nine seats were vital, serving as the backbone of the Tomorrow Society, with every action under scrutiny—only children might not grasp the weight of these names.

Yet, every time the ceremony to awaken the Dao Artifact took place, this was a necessary procedure; all arriving 1st and 2nd Level members would be grandly introduced by the chief.

This was one of the highest honors in Tomorrow Society, second only to becoming the chief, an act of honoring others.

“Liu Shanwei, user of the Spirit Wind, is one of the original twenty talents of our Tomorrow Society. He was either adopted or rescued from prestigious families. Displaying amazing talent from a young age, he quickly attained a martial position, slaying demons everywhere, and rapidly grew. By fourteen, he awakened the Dao Artifact; by sixteen, he had become the Second Seat, gaining a unique power.”

“And this power has provided nearly ten years of support for the hidden barrier. In the past, Tomorrow City occasionally faced issues with demons intruding, but under the Second Seat’s vigorous intervention, such events have decreased to just one percent of what they used to be. Even if a special demon were to intrude, it would be detected immediately, giving the Executors ample time to take action.”

“In ten years, there have been only three incidents of residents being harmed by demons, all occurring in the initial years. Compared to at least seven or eight incidents per year a decade ago, there has been a significant transformation.”

“Second Seat, do you have anything you would like to say to everyone?”

At this point,

Tian Jing smiled at Liu Shanwei, signaling that it was his turn to speak.

“…I hope each of you grows; only by becoming strong can you seize your own destiny. That is all I want to say.”

Liu Shanwei shook his head, stepped forward, and spoke.

He was a man with gentle winds swirling at the tips of his hair, with a cold expression and extraordinary aura. He offered only one piece of advice, nothing more.

Inaction is always part of the trampled, and this holds true even within Tomorrow Society.

Perhaps Tomorrow Society’s policies allow ordinary beings to live better than those outside, but it merely maintains the balance under the rule of Tomorrow Society.

Beyond the borders of Tomorrow City, ordinary beings remain as mere livestock.

The Tomorrow Society still does not have the capability to directly confront the two sects.

A beautiful dream…

Could shatter at any moment.

“The Third Seat, Ji Shuliang, has completely reformed the laws of Tomorrow Society, tailoring them to fit the current situation. Perhaps some do not understand the value of this, but we, as Dao Artifact wielders, recognize just how important it is to have a legal foundation that reflects reality. With a comprehensive legal framework, any user of the Tomorrow Dao Weapon can directly initiate judgment; even the most wicked demons must fear this and refrain from violating the law.”

“This is the Third Seat, a man with an unprecedented dedication to rules, almost perfectly leveraging the Dao Artifact. Among the nine 1st members, only the Third Seat remains the busiest, rarely seen. If it weren’t for the significance of this ceremony, he might still be studying legal texts.”

Tian Jing introduced the second 1st member,

Then, he passed the time to the Third Seat.

Ji Shuliang nodded at Tian Jing and stepped forward. He looked very young, even younger than Liu Shanwei. Taking a deep breath, he declared, “Everyone, only by giving your all can you avoid regret! As the Third Seat, I have only one piece of advice: it’s too late to regret when the time comes!”

Ji Shuliang’s tone wasn’t gloomy; he wasn’t hinting at anything, simply hoping people would strive with all their might.

For themselves and for Tomorrow Society, personal effort is irreplaceable.

After saying this, Ji Shuliang returned to his place under the watchful eyes of several 1st members.

“Very sincere, but unfortunately…”

Many 1st members shook their heads.

Currently, life in Tomorrow Society was quite comfortable; ordinary beings could eat well as long as they worked diligently, and with spirit energy controls in place, personal cultivation was difficult. This led to discontent among many ordinary beings, robbing them of their motivation to move forward.

Different from the oppressive past, where they had to fight desperately, Today’s Tomorrow City had become too comfortable, failing to inspire most people’s initiative.

This may sound like a fallacy—how could a lack of pressure lead to a lack of motivation?

Isn’t the Tomorrow Society meant to help people live well? This is merely a personal choice. Why does the Tomorrow Society seem to imply a desire to intervene forcefully?

In a time of peace, such thoughts would be reasonable; past struggles were aimed at achieving the peace and prosperity that followed victory.

But the problem is, there are hidden dangers everywhere in the current Tomorrow Society!

Sixty years.

If transformation cannot be achieved within sixty years to gain the strength to destroy the two sects and independently rule Huangzhou, Tomorrow City will surely perish!

Once Tomorrow Society rises, all three sides will unite to crush it; there will be no escape.

Many in Tomorrow Society believe that relaxing under these circumstances is overly optimistic; it is arrogance.

Continuing on this path means they cannot defeat the two sects or stand on equal ground with the Holy Lineage and the Pure World Holy Land.

This is undoubtedly reasonable.

But the current policies have been spearheaded by Tian Jing himself. Despite numerous discussions, as the chief, Tian Jing has struggled to reach a decisive conclusion… If he alters the policy and pushes the portions of Tomorrow’s theories that exploit human greed, further squeezing ordinary beings, is this truly the Tomorrow Society he envisions?
