Chapter 295: Single-handedly Entering the Enemy Camp

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

“Attention all departments, go to Level One alert! This is not a drill, this is not a drill.”

The red alarm blared throughout the flight deck and compartments of the "Shilang" aircraft carrier training ship, signaling that the entire ship was on high alert. All departments quickly mobilized, with even personnel on break returning to their posts.

“All aviation crew members enter combat mode! Begin loading live ammunition! The ammunition list has been sent to the weapon crew!”

The flight deck bustled with activity as J-15 "Dark Sabre" fighters ascended from the elevator, rapidly filling the launch area. All pilots began to line up, preparing to receive orders.

Although most did not know what was happening, as the training mission suddenly shifted to combat readiness, those aboard the "Shilang" were not novices, and chaos was absent. They smoothly transitioned into battle preparation procedures in an orderly fashion.

Unlike the shrill scream of jet engines, the fixed-wing carrier-based warning aircraft took off first, producing a deep rumbling sound. The WJ6C engine generated enough lift to effortlessly propel it into the sky.

“Altitude now at 8,000 meters. Target group detected at longitude XX, latitude XX, consistent with intelligence. They are within our territorial waters. Target heading is due south, speed is 10 knots! Electronic jamming has ceased, switching to EERC filter mode. Detecting ‘Dragon Knight,’ status is good. Uh, it’s approaching the target, with two F-35s following it. It seems they are pursuing the ‘Dragon Knight.’ The optical reconnaissance system of the South Dipper satellite group has completed recording. Data received. The synthetic aperture radar system shows the F-35 is using its cannon, possibly issuing a warning. Should we call ‘Dragon Knight’ back?”

“I’m the duty Captain Bai Yaoping. Do not call ‘Dragon Knight’ back for now; continue tracking. I will dispatch a squadron for support.”

The command was quickly issued. News of the discovery of the U.S. military’s “George Washington” nuclear-powered aircraft carrier battle group spread swiftly throughout the No. 83 aircraft carrier training fleet. The new instructor Lin Mo audaciously piloted the J-15 "Dark Sabre" closer to the opposing forces. The South China Sea fleet secretly dispatched several attack submarines and ballistic missile submarines to follow this suddenly departing carrier battle group from the Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan.

Although there was no clear understanding of what could draw this carrier group to the South China Sea, the South China Sea fleet still elevated their alert level to the highest, almost equivalent to the U.S. military’s red alert.

Inside the command center of the "George Washington," communication personnel’s voices rang through the communication channels of the two F-35 "Lightning II" fighters, startling the two pilots.

Unbeknownst to them, the airspace where both sides were entangled had drawn near the “George Washington” aircraft carrier battle group.

Each of their wings carried two genuine C-802 "Yingji-2" anti-ship missiles, and thinking of this made the two U.S. major pilots break out in a cold sweat.

It was unclear whether it was intentional or unintentional, but this carrier-based aircraft now posed a significant threat to the carrier battle group. If the opponent pressed the launch button…

The C-802 "Yingji-2" anti-ship missile has a maximum effective range of 120 kilometers. The radar showed they were only 100 kilometers away from the "George Washington" nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.

As an advanced anti-ship missile manufactured in China, standard stealth ships would react minimally to it. The C-802 "Yingji-2," with a 165-kilogram warhead, might not be able to sink the "George Washington," but striking anything could certainly cause trouble.

Damn it, a chance encounter in a friendly game could turn into a disaster at any moment. The U.S. definitely wouldn’t want to go to war with China right now.

“Alright, ‘George Washington’! I’m on it!” Major George Ell, codename "Rocky Mountain," confirmed the order and immediately radioed his wingman, Major Minick Jerry, codename "Swallow": “’Swallow’, it’s too close to our carrier. We need to show it who’s boss and drive it away. Damn, I really miss having a ‘Turkey’ around.”

In the blink of an eye, the “game” opponent transformed into a potential threat, and the two F-35 “Lightning IIs” immediately prepared to retaliate.

This is what it means to be a soldier; this is war!

“Humph, ‘George Washington’! Today, you’ll find out just how hard it is to call on the gods but hard to send them back!”

Lin Mo’s Light Mirror Technique had long detected the U.S. "George Washington" nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. In the showdown with the F-35 "Lightning IIs," he made a deliberate approach towards the American carrier battle group.

“We have to intercept it. ‘Rocky Mountain,’ do we need to use weapons?” Minick Jerry inquired of his leader. This was no longer a friendly exercise; the opponent had breached the sensitive area’s alert line.

“First, use the cannon as a warning! Now apply a semi-defensive separation tactic to force it to turn back. Inform it that it has crossed the line and raise the alert level to orange.”

George Ell swiftly activated the weapon system, notifying his wingman that the defensive measure had escalated to a level where onboard weapons could be used if needed.

The two F-35 "Lightning II" carrier-based aircraft had already shut down their electronic warfare systems, actively blocking communication channels to signal their willingness to negotiate.

“Calling ‘Dark Sabre’! Calling ‘Dark Sabre’! The game ends here! You need to head back home; you cannot continue flying north.”

The "Dark Sabre" showed no intent to turn back, instead coldly responding over the public channel: “This is Chinese territorial waters. You are the ones who should go home; you cannot continue southwest. Keep heading east, or you’re on your own!”

Great, not only did they fail to warn the other side, but they were instead warned themselves.

“Kid, don’t get too cocky. You’re facing the entire George Washington aircraft carrier battle group, and you only have one plane!”

“Let’s see about that! I would love to tour your fleet!”

Lin Mo elevated himself to moral high ground, stating that the other side had already crossed the boundary of the South China Sea. Despite China’s limited control over the region due to a lack of effective large-scale weaponry, they held firm.

Boom! Boom! Boom! A series of 25mm cannons fired at the airspace around the "Dark Sabre," serving merely as a warning.

With a loud sonic boom, the "Dark Sabre" rolled its body continuously, darting towards the "George Washington" nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.

“Damn it, it has once again seen through our intentions. Can it read minds? The semi-defensive separation tactic is ineffective!”

“It’s broken through our lines, ‘Rocky Mountain.’ This is not the time to complain!”

“A bunch of idiots!”

Lin Mo retorted, momentarily engaging in the public radio channel. The enemies he had personally taken down far exceeded the foes they had ever encountered, thanks to the prolonged “Half Gold War” between the Texi Empire and the Su Lan Empire—a war that even the Dragon Knights could fall in.

According to the combat power rankings in the war pyramid, the power of the Dragon Knights surpassed that of the fourth-generation fighters in this world.

Suddenly, a piercing alarm blared from the flight deck of the "George Washington" nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.

“Steam catapults are beginning to fill with steam!”

“‘Crocodile’ F-18 squadron, prepare for takeoff. EA-6B ‘Prowler’ electronic warfare aircraft No. 1, prepare for takeoff.”

“Ship-to-air missile systems activated, close-range weapon systems activated!”

“Missile frigates, turn on radars, prepare to intercept missiles!”

The nine decks below the flight deck of the "George Washington" immediately entered a wartime state. Despite the threat being just a J-15 "Dark Sabre," it was carrying two anti-ship missiles, and no one dared to take chances.

For a supersonic fighter, 100 kilometers was only about five minutes away.

Just as the "George Washington" battle group finished readying its defenses and the F-18 squadron was urgently lining up for takeoff, the J-15 "Dark Sabre" appeared clearly in everyone’s sight.

The two C-802 "Yingji-2" anti-ship missiles under its wings sent chills up everyone’s spines; this Chinese carrier-based aircraft was not as defenseless as they had imagined.

Recent intelligence revealed that the J-15 "Dark Sabre" had just dealt with some Filipino trouble, sinking a Filipino fishing boat that had fired upon it.

Fortunately, what hung beneath the opponent’s wings were C-802 anti-ship missiles and not C-804 carrier killers.

Following closely behind were two F-35 "Lightning IIs," frantically trying to fire their cannons, but the "Dark Sabre" ignored them. Despite wanting to shoot down this troublesome fly, the opponent’s dogfighting techniques suddenly improved again, making its flight path even more erratic and unpredictable.

“‘Swallow,’ we need to bring it down, or we’ll be sent back to Eglin Air Force Base! Damn, damn it!”

“‘Rocky Mountain,’ this guy is tougher. It just held back on us. What a maneuver! I’ve never seen such a thing. It’s terrifying. I need to revise my previous bet. It’s not a Chinese Air Force major general; it’s China’s best pilot.”

“No, no, no! I don’t want to discuss that right now! I’m just focused on intercepting it. It has overstayed its welcome.”

Nine F-18s left the flight deck, ready to charge in. Alright! Let’s go! Who’s afraid?

Lin Mo saw an F-18 squadron, two kilometers below, rushing out from the flight deck, circling around the carrier and forming up, poised to charge at him.

Single-handedly entering the enemy camp, faced with blockers ahead and pursuers behind!
