Chapter 321: Request for Pills

Not long after, the new monthly assessment results were released.

With Ji Yang’s encouragement, the original requirement for each disciple at Alchemy Peak to submit five pills for assessment has now increased to ten.

Upon hearing this news, the disciples immediately cursed Ji Yang, calling him ungrateful.

It is important to note that the pills for the monthly assessment are not ordinary pills. For example, if you are a low-level alchemist, the pills you need to submit must reach the intermediate standard, or the quality of low-level pills must meet the medium or high grade.

Five pills were already quite a challenge for them, and now they suddenly had to submit ten.

Some disciples protested, but they were shut down by the deacon, who left them with this remark:

"What’s wrong with you? Why haven’t you seen Feng Yu complain about the assessment?"

This made many disciples even angrier, but they felt helpless.

They could only immerse themselves in refining pills to avoid failing next month’s monthly assessment.

What used to be a lively Alchemy Peak quickly became quite empty.

Disciples from other peaks who wanted to ask Alchemy Peak disciples for help with refining pills were all turned away, and the reason given was simply that they had no time.

In the cultivation world, purchasing pills often requires spiritual stones, and some pills are so rare and difficult to refine that they cannot be bought with spiritual stones alone.

At this time, the status of alchemists becomes apparent.

Some cultivators will seek out the materials needed to refine pills, prepare the corresponding pill recipes and spiritual plants, and look for a highly skilled alchemist to assist them.

This is also why many alchemists live quite comfortably.

In the outside world, finding an alchemist is not easy; some cultivators may struggle to find someone to help them refine pills.

The Heaven Demon Sect is a large sect, and there are still quite a few alchemists at Alchemy Peak, and their required compensation tends to be cheaper than what one would find outside, as they are all fellow sect members.

This leads many disciples to prepare the necessary materials and seek alchemists to help refine pills instead of spending more spiritual stones to buy them.

The alchemists at Alchemy Peak do not reject this practice; after all, the spiritual plants available at Alchemy Peak are limited, and if they take spiritual plants from there, they must also refine a certain amount of pills to make up for it, or they might end up at a loss.

If other disciples bring their own spiritual plants to ask for help refining pills, not only does it help increase the alchemists’ experience, but if successful, they can earn a certain reward. This is mutually beneficial for both parties.

However, many alchemists at Alchemy Peak are currently busy preparing for the monthly assessment, so the requests from other disciples for pill refining are naturally declined.

Other disciples who learned the circumstances stopped searching for other alchemists and quickly brought their spiritual plants and compensation to seek Ji Yang, the newly recognized alchemical genius at Alchemy Peak!

They wanted Ji Yang to help them refine pills!

Ji Yang, still in seclusion and busy refining pills, was unaware of these events. His loft was already piled high with messaging talismans.

These talismans contained the requests and offers for pill refinement from disciples of various peaks.

A month later, Ji Yang emerged from his seclusion.

As he stepped out, Ji Yang opened his attribute panel:

【Name: Ji Yang】

【Age: 20】

【Realm: Early Stage of Spirit Transformation】

【Techniques: Feather Transformation Ascension Skill, Huang Ting Dao Jing】

【Divine Powers: Heart Sword, Sword Cultivation, Breathing Technique of All Things, Soldiers from Beans, Wandering Spirit Commanding Energy, Thunderous Power, Thousands of Sword Energies, Feather Transformation】

【Cultivation Points: 398/999】

【Available】

【Status: Heaven’s Jealousy】

【Status: Heavenly Punishment】

Thanks to Ji Yang’s diligent efforts, his cultivation points reached 398, and he was about to break through the 400 barrier.

What was once marked as unavailable had already changed to available. Ji Yang estimated that these cultivation points would be enough for him to increase his level by two minor realms!

However, reaching the Void Refinement stage was still far off!

It seemed he would need to hasten his pill refining before the Heaven Demon Sect discovered his identity, aiming to accumulate enough cultivation points to break through to the Void Refinement stage!

When Ji Yang opened the Alchemy Room formations and stepped out of his loft, he was astounded by the multitude of messaging talismans hovering in the air outside, unsure of what had happened.

Ji Yang’s primordial spirit energy spread out, and when he saw there were no hidden cultivators ambushing him, he felt relieved.

It appeared that his identity had not been exposed.

Ji Yang picked up one messaging talisman and used his magic to open it.

The voice inside the talisman immediately transmitted:

"Junior Brother Yin Hui requests help from Senior Brother Feng to refine several batches of mid-tier pills, Recovery Pill. Junior Brother is willing to pay five hundred spiritual stones as a reward! I hope Senior Brother will reply!"

Hearing the content of the talisman, Ji Yang realized it was about someone seeking his help with pill refining.

However, only mid-tier pills piqued Ji Yang’s interest!

After listening to a few more messages, he found they all contained similar requests for pill refining, but with varying rewards, and they were all rather miscellaneous.

One disciple expressed boldly that he would offer any reward Ji Yang deemed fit, as long as he could help.

The pill this disciple wanted refined was not an ordinary pill, but a rare type called the Soul Gathering Pill, used to condense souls and restore primordial spirit energy.

Nevertheless, Ji Yang had no intention of helping with the pill refining.

Firstly, he was not familiar with the crafting of these various pills, meaning the likelihood of failure was quite high. Just like the three types of pills he had been refining during his seclusion, where he had failed many times initially.

If not for the abundance of spiritual plants, he might not have accumulated enough cultivation points.

Moreover, these disciples only prepared a handful of spiritual plants for him, and some had just one.

With such little material, the effort would not be worth the yield, and failure would be a significant waste of his time.

He needed a substantial amount of high-level spiritual plants for high-level pills.

Ji Yang didn’t bother looking at the remaining messages; he needed to find other high-level recipes and spiritual plants.

Though the spiritual herb garden at Alchemy Peak had some spiritual plants recorded previously, some were not mature enough to meet the refinement standards, and others were simply unavailable.

This was also the reason Ji Yang emerged from seclusion early.

Now, Ji Yang planned to personally visit the spiritual herb garden to check which high-level spiritual plants were abundant, and he would refine pills based on those!

He felt it would be a disservice to his journey at the Heaven Demon Sect if he didn’t exhaust the available spiritual plants.

Soon, Ji Yang arrived at the spiritual herb garden of Alchemy Peak.

Like the He Dao Sect, Alchemy Peak treated this important place with great diligence.

Before he could get close, guard disciples cast scrutinizing looks his way.

Especially since Ji Yang’s appearance was unfamiliar; he didn’t resemble a deacon or an elder, making the guard disciples even more cautious.

However, when Ji Yang produced his identity token, their expressions changed dramatically, and they immediately spoke:

"Hello, Senior Brother! May I ask what type of spiritual plants you need?"

Although they didn’t know who he was, anyone with this identity token was one of the high-level alchemists living in the top-level Alchemy Rooms at Alchemy Peak.

It was always wise to treat him with caution.
