Chapter 379: Can I Too?

Hearing the voice, Ji Yang couldn’t help but turn his head to look.

A graceful young man was smiling as he asked a female cultivator in front of him!

Hearing the young man’s inquiry, the female cultivator snorted coldly:

"Scoundrel!"

She then turned and walked away, leaving the young man with her back.

The rejected young man did not seem too discouraged; he shifted his gaze to another female cultivator, leaning slightly forward, and spoke again:

"Fellow Daoist…"

Before the young man could finish, the female cultivator had already vanished without a trace.

Other cultivators who witnessed this scene cast disdainful glances at the young man and then quickly distanced themselves from him, not forgetting to utter insults as they left:

"Another one from He Huan Sect!"

Hearing their comments, Ji Yang grew somewhat interested.

He Huan Sect.

It was a large sect, though not as powerful as top sects like He Dao Sect or Taiyi Sect, it still held a certain standing in the Cultivation World.

Of course, what stood out most was the dual cultivation method of He Huan Sect.

Because of this, many disciples were drawn to He Huan Sect, which was the only sect in the Cultivation World with a reputation greater than its actual strength.

However, not all of this reputation was positive.

Ji Yang had some curiosity about the renowned He Huan Sect, but it was purely just curiosity.

The repeatedly rejected young man sighed softly as he noticed that all the surrounding cultivators had scattered.

But when he looked up and saw Ji Yang, who had not walked away, a glimmer of light appeared in his eyes.

The young man quickly approached and, upon sensing Ji Yang’s realm, displayed a hint of surprise, but he quickly regained his composure, showing a gentle smile as he slowly spoke to Ji Yang:

"Fellow Daoist, are you into dual cultivation?"

Hearing the question directed at him from such a close distance, and noticing there was no one else around, Ji Yang was taken aback and wondered aloud:

"Can I too?"

The young man smiled and nodded:

"Of course. Our dual cultivation method at He Huan Sect reaches the Dao. What does it matter if one is male or female?"

Upon hearing this, Ji Yang’s expression darkened slightly. No wonder the female cultivator had hurriedly left; he hadn’t expected the disciples of He Huan Sect to be so promiscuous, which explained their poor reputation in the Cultivation World.

Seeing Ji Yang’s unusual expression, the young man spoke:

"Fellow Daoist, perhaps you have some misunderstandings about our He Huan Sect?"

Ji Yang remained silent. Was there really any need for misunderstandings?

No normal cultivator would think this was a proper sect.

Seeing that Ji Yang did not respond, the young man understood what Ji Yang was thinking from his expression and explained again:

"Actually, it’s quite the opposite. My He Huan Sect emphasizes reaching the Dao directly through the dual cultivation method. Moreover, dual cultivation focuses more on the harmony of minds and the complement of talents and spiritual energy during cultivation, rather than the mundane union of men and women. This is also a form of cultivation. However, most disciples of He Huan Sect only grasp the form, not the essence, which has led to our sect’s poor reputation today. It is truly a pity!"

After saying this, the young man sighed softly, seemingly feeling regretful about the sect’s declining reputation.

Listening to the young man’s explanation, Ji Yang’s expression changed slightly.

Perhaps he had misunderstood; according to what the young man said, this method was indeed righteous.

Upon further reflection, it seemed that He Huan Sect did not actually belong to the demonic sects but was instead a righteous sect. While this didn’t prove much, it did indicate that what the young man said was likely true.

He Huan Sect, having a place in the Cultivation World, existed as evidence that this method was feasible. Otherwise, it would have long been eliminated from the currents of history in the Cultivation World.

Thinking of this, Ji Yang said apologetically:

"I misunderstood!"

However, he couldn’t be blamed; after all, any normal cultivator wouldn’t believe that dual cultivation could be a righteous path, considering its poor reputation.

The young man waved his hand:

"It’s alright. Most cultivators have some prejudice against our sect, but this can’t be blamed entirely on others. Many negative actions have indeed been committed by disciples of He Huan Sect."

Ji Yang nodded, realizing that the young man understood the situation well.

"So, Fellow Daoist, would you like to engage in dual cultivation?"

After explaining, the young man invited Ji Yang once more.

This time, Ji Yang maintained his composure and politely declined:

"No, thank you. My current cultivation is sufficient; I do not need dual cultivation."

While he was curious about the path of dual cultivation, he was not inclined to pursue it, and the idea of dual cultivation was not within his considerations.

Seeing that Ji Yang was not swayed, the young man began to explain the benefits of dual cultivation:

"Our sect’s dual cultivation method can not only quickly enhance a disciple’s realm but also accelerate the process of condensing the essence of the Dao when reaching the Unity with the Dao stage."

"This Fellow Daoist probably knows that most cultivators must condense the corresponding essence of the Dao to step into the Unity with the Dao stage. However, the situation is different in our He Huan Sect. There are many predecessors within the sect to guide the way. The challenges faced by other Void Refinement stage cultivators are not significant issues for us. With such advantages, are you sure you don’t want to consider it?"

The young man asked sincerely again.

Upon hearing the young man’s description, Ji Yang refused once more.

He had his own thoughts regarding condensing the essence of the Dao. Although the path of dual cultivation sounded orthodox according to the young man, it was still not a consideration for Ji Yang.

He cultivated the Thousands of Sword Energies, and even if he were to condense the essence of the Dao, it should be the essence of the way of the sword.

Furthermore, if the essence of the Dao of He Huan Sect were truly strong, it would not merely be a large sect today.

Though he had let go of his previous impressions, Ji Yang felt no attraction whatsoever to the young man’s introduction.

Seeing that Ji Yang was indeed unaffected by his words, the young man ceased to pursue the matter and spoke instead:

"Alright then, are you here to enter the secret realm?"

"Of course."

Ji Yang nodded.

The young man was again surprised by this confirmation. He had thought Ji Yang was here to observe the Ancient Realm of Yuan Kong alongside an elder to prepare for entering the secret realm later. He didn’t expect Ji Yang to actually enter it this time.

After a moment, the young man advised:

"Fellow Daoist, you should know that the Ancient Realm of Yuan Kong is exceptionally dangerous. Your current realm is indeed a bit low. Take my advice and don’t go this time."

"You can explore the secret realm after fifty years."

"Thank you for your kind advice, but my mind is made up."

Ji Yang clasped his hands in gratitude.

"Since that’s the case, I won’t insist any further. If fate allows, we may meet in the secret realm."

"By the way, meeting is a form of fate. I am Liu Chen from He Huan Sect. May I ask for your name?"

"He Dao Sect, Ji Yang!"

After exchanging names, Ji Yang turned to leave.

As Liu Chen remained in place, a contemplative expression appeared on his face. He was not surprised that Ji Yang was a disciple from the He Dao Sect, as he could tell from his clothing. However, he found the name somewhat familiar.

After pondering for a moment, Liu Chen’s eyes brightened.

He remembered that Ji Yang was the one with Talent Jealousy from He Dao Sect!

It was known that their dual cultivation method at He Huan Sect was indeed related to innate talent. If he could find someone with Talent Jealousy to cultivate with, the speed of improvement would surely be faster.

Though Ji Yang’s realm was slightly low, if he could join He Huan Sect, he might become a pillar of their sect in the future.

But then Liu Chen shook his head slightly. With Ji Yang’s talent and status, how could he possibly join He Huan Sect? While the dual cultivation method of their sect was good, disciples from large sects wouldn’t look down upon it.

Thinking this, Liu Chen decisively gave up. He would look for someone else instead.

If he didn’t find a partner for dual cultivation soon, when would he be able to reach the Unity with the Dao stage?
