Chapter 549: I Am Invincible (Part 2)

"I am invincible!"

Wang Chen’s roar echoed through the long corridor.

The fellow cultivator, cornered by the giants, heard his voice and immediately responded with a resounding shout.

This cultivator was besieged by numerous flying snakes with fleshy wings.

They continuously spewed black flames, relentlessly suppressing the cultivator, who could only barely resist the giants’ attacks by relying on the magical barrier generated by a copper bell spirit tool.

However, it was evident to all that if this situation persisted, once the cultivator’s magic was depleted and he could no longer control the protective spirit tool, defeat would be inevitable.

The arrival of Wang Chen and Yan Zhengming was undoubtedly a lifeline!

A more intense battle erupted in an instant.

Wang Chen used the Concealed Dragon Stick to carve a path, sweeping left and right, causing the flying snakes to burst into blood mist.

Close behind, Yan Zhengming, having regained some of his magic, did not stand idly by; he summoned a flying sword to slash at the snakes darting through the air.

As a legal sword practitioner, Yan Zhengming had profound expertise in swordsmanship. Previously hindered by the Illusion Array’s peculiar environment, he had nearly faced a dire fate.

Now, supporting Wang Chen, he could confidently display his art of flying swords.

Their efficiency in dispatching the enemy was remarkable!

The two worked in unison; with the pressure on the trapped cultivator significantly reduced, he seized the moment to counterattack, and the flying snakes fell like rain, their carcasses strewn across the ground.

As the distance between them narrowed to within ten steps, the Purple Blossom Spirit Armor worn by the fellow cultivator synchronized with the battle gear of Wang Chen and Yan Zhengming.

The power of their battle gear was thus enhanced.

The newly joined cultivator, equipped with a higher-level protective spirit tool, found himself in a better position than Yan Zhengming.

He became a vital asset in their rescue mission.

After rescuing this fellow cultivator, Wang Chen turned and dashed toward another nearby corridor.

"Follow me!"

At that moment, Yan Zhengming was in awe of Wang Chen, feeling utterly devoted to him. Although he didn’t know how Wang Chen had located their comrade, he trusted him implicitly and followed without hesitation.

"Keep up!"

He shouted this to the recently rescued cultivator.

The fellow cultivator paused briefly but quickly followed without further delay.

The three of them spread out, moving like arrows through the dim corridor.

The giants blocking their path didn’t even have time to react before being pierced and shattered in an instant!

Then they discovered the fourth trapped cultivator.

Yan Zhengming was speechless.

He felt as though Wang Chen wielded some powerful being ability, completely unaffected by the Illusion Array, able to accurately pinpoint the locations of their fellow cultivators and initiate rescues.

In fact, this powerful being ability was the Global Mode of the Cultivation Panel.

However, the manner in which Wang Chen had just activated the Global Mode differed from his previous methods.

Previously, activating it was akin to opening a navigation map; wherever the divine essence reached, it would manifest within their vision.

Simultaneously, it could detect the locations of both Evil Spirits and living beings!

However, this "scanning" method consumed a substantial amount of Virtue points, particularly when the number of Evil Spirits and living beings was exceedingly high—the consumption was nothing short of terrifying.

Wang Chen, unable to replenish his Virtue in the Underworld Realm, relied solely on his past reserves to utilize it a few times.

Earlier, when ensnared in the Illusion Array, he had attempted to use Global Mode to find an escape, only to squander a considerable amount of Virtue in vain.

In such circumstances, Wang Chen did not entirely abandon his pursuit of this unique ability.

He experimented to see if he could detect only living beings without scanning for Evil Spirits.

To his delight, the Cultivation Panel responded to his request; upon reactivating Global Mode, the Virtue consumption plummeted to a level that made him feel as though he had struck gold!

The subsequent steps were straightforward: Wang Chen first rescued Yan Zhengming, then proceeded to find and rescue more fellow cultivators.

The third, fourth, fifth…

As Wang Chen pressed forward—whether ascending to higher levels or breaking through to lower ones—more and more cultivators were saved.

The members of the Demon-Slaying Army were no weaklings; had they not been isolated and helpless within the Illusion Array set by the Evil Nests, surrounded by giants, their unleashed power would have been formidable.

The interconnected sets of Purple Blossom Spirit Armor grew increasingly potent, enhancing their collective strength, and the team led by Wang Chen expanded steadily, their combat ability multiplying.

Not all fellow cultivators placed their complete trust in Wang Chen, but swept up in the tide of events, they had no choice but to follow him, breaking through barriers and vanquishing countless giants.

As they witnessed more and more of their comrades being rescued, their doubts dissipated entirely.

With hearts united, the burgeoning team of over a hundred wreaked havoc within the Illusion Array.

They encountered monsters and slew them, faced Evil Spirits and eradicated them; when no magical spirits or evil spirits were present, they turned their attacks on the corridor walls.

Talismans soared, spirit tools demonstrated their might, and the brilliance of spells shone incessantly as numerous cultivators took turns leading the charge, following Wang Chen deep into the heart of the Evil Nests!

This was not the result of a Global Mode scan but rather a direction Wang Chen successfully deduced based on his observations along the way.

Wang Chen was well aware that rescuing all the cultivators trapped in the Illusion Array by his own strength was an unrealistic endeavor.

By this point, many of his comrades had likely perished.

Thus, as the team’s numbers swelled to over a hundred, he decisively shifted their objective.

Destroying the core of the Evil Nests became paramount!

By obliterating this nest, the Illusion Array would collapse, and the surviving cultivators would be saved.

This was the essence of cutting the problem at its root!

Boom!

A massive section of the corridor wall was violently blasted open, revealing a vast expanse ahead.

A wave of scorching heat rushed toward them!

Yet this heat bore no resemblance to flame; it was imbued with a searing, violent essence, akin to a corrosive poison fire. Anyone touched by it would suffer grievous burns, their internal organs seared.

However, the cultivators, having mustered a formidable momentum, remained unscathed as they charged forward behind Wang Chen.

Beyond the corridor lay an immense space.

The walls were a dark red, resembling blood vessels and tumors, and at the center stood a colossal heart, ten zhang tall, its base entwined with countless black tendrils.

The toxic fire’s scent emanated from this pulsating heart, which loomed like a volcano on the brink of eruption, exuding an overwhelming sense of menace!

This was the core of the Evil Nests!

"I am invincible!"

It was unclear which cultivator first shouted the battle cry, but others quickly followed with deafening roars.

In an instant, everyone’s battle intent soared to its zenith.

Without needing a General’s command, spells, flying swords, and spirit tools surged toward the heart.

Brilliant lights illuminated the entire space!
