Chapter 292: The Prize Pool Continues to Grow!

The first team was quite pleased with their own restraint, and Lin Qingliu was equally satisfied with their prudence; after all, he had no intention of killing them.

The recent skirmish had given him a clearer understanding of the abilities and tactics of his opponents.

It was clear that although Holy Shield was no longer in his original state, the team’s coordination was nothing short of remarkable.

Even without being able to unleash their full power, they managed such seamless teamwork; even if their abilities weren’t inherently theirs, they must have practiced relentlessly to achieve this.

With these thoughts, Lin Qingliu didn’t give them another chance to restrain him. As the wound on his neck began to heal, the griffin’s body took to the skies, deliberately evading the targeting from Starfall above.

Confronted with the sporadic appearance of invisible barriers, Lin Qingliu felt his flying space transform from open air into a labyrinth of mazes.

At the same time, beams of light occasionally shot down from above, forcing him to dodge with all his might. The churned earth below left him no place to land, while the emaciated Disaster Core moved agilely on the ground, poised to strike as he descended.

Yet, Lin Qingliu was not defenseless; his hardened wings fired off projectiles like shotgun pellets towards everyone. As the first team members were busy dodging, Lin Qingliu slipped through a thick fog he had conjured.

In the next instant, two identical griffins burst out of the fog, heading in opposite directions.

Along their paths, two more clouds of mist suddenly appeared.

Not good!

A look of shock flashed across the withered face of Disaster Core. After a brief moment of thought, he sharply kicked off the ground, retreating several dozen meters.

"Regroup!"

One became two, and two became four.

As expected, when the fog dissipated, four identical griffins stood before them.

Three of them continued to engage with the three superpowered individuals below, while the fourth charged upwards through the air towards Starfall.

Watching the griffin below that was "using hands and feet," Starfall’s face remained calm.

Her hand gestures changed rapidly, shifting from a small triangle formed by three fingers to a viewfinder formed by her thumbs and index fingers.

In response, the second ray cannon at the top of the spire turned in that direction.

Without hesitation, Starfall gave the command to fire.

Given the intelligence of Fifth Level extraordinary beasts, after suffering an unexpected defeat, they would not remain indifferent to a second identical attack.

Yet the reality was before them; the extraordinary beasts, closing in on Starfall, showed no intention of dodging. They leapt towards the platform, ready to crush her with their claws.

At that moment, the ray pierced through the griffin’s body, scattering it into a cloud of mist.

The ray continued through the mist and shot downwards; soon, Starfall heard the sound of the ground shattering beneath the impact…

No blood, no flesh, nothing substantial remained; it was as if everything was merely… an illusion.

"The clones are fake!"

Without time to formulate her thoughts, Starfall relayed the crucial information to her teammates while changing her hand gestures to lock onto and eliminate the griffins below.

Outside the spire, the three people on the ground felt a slight relief upon hearing Starfall’s message.

One Fifth Level extraordinary beast was already a handful; four… If they were outside the city, they could fight without restraint, but inside the city, they had to be cautious, feeling somewhat restrained like they were hesitating to strike a mouse for fear of breaking nearby objects.

Thankfully, not all of these four… three griffins were real; even by using the strategy of taking them out one by one, they could definitely locate the true body.

Thinking this, the three shifted their positions and, without prior agreement, launched a fierce attack.

The first to achieve results was Holy Shield on his battlefield. He trapped a griffin with his shield and gradually compressed it. After a brief resistance, only a cloud of mist remained.

Confirming that he had resolved the issue, Holy Shield turned his attention to the remaining two battles.

Disaster Core fought fiercely with the griffin, each punch connecting with a real sense of impact.

In contrast, on Fortress’s side, his abilities mainly relied on the ground, with only a few attacks reaching the low-flying griffin.

What was true and what was false was clear at a glance.

"Attack Disaster Core!"

Upon hearing their teammate’s command, all firepower quickly focused on the extraordinary beast grappling with Disaster Core.

In an instant, the confinement and jabs from the ground, the rays from above, the tightening space around, and a cannon fist directly in front sealed off all movement for the griffin.

The only choice it could make was to decide which attacks to endure or to accept everything that came at it.

The extraordinary beast seemed to fall into a kind of stupor, allowing all four of their attacks to strike its body.

With a "bang," amidst the sound of shattering, not only the skull but the extraordinary beast’s body also broke apart, with genuine flesh raining down, creating a bloody storm surrounding a large area.

They confirmed it: this one was the true body.

Just as the members of the first team felt a slight relaxation, a mocking grin appeared on the griffin’s bird-like face from the shadows behind them.

Hehe.

What is true and what is false, what is false and what is true.

Who said clones could only be illusions?

Who said clones couldn’t possess flesh and blood?

It was time to teach a lesson to those old folks.

The three pairs of wings in the shadows flashed with a cold light.

An all-encompassing attack targeting the three people on the ground had completed its loading.

Lin Qingliu consciously reinforced the muscles in the back of his Biological Armor and his wings, enhancing their explosive power to a stunning level.

Surprise attack!

Hundreds of thousands of feathers shot forward, their rush accompanied by the griffin’s Roar, echoing in the ears of the three people.

They fell for it!

This thought surged into their minds in an instant.

Records in Hope City did not lack extraordinary beasts capable of creating clones.

However, this very fact led those familiar with the data to have a cognitive bias, thinking that as long as they killed the true body, the clones would fall apart without needing any attack.

This caused Fortress to easily abandon the extraordinary beast that had been entangled with him in the recent fight.

Until now, the sharp Roar circled in their ears, the sound cutting through the air resonating in every corner.

At that moment, another howling sound seemed to come from the sky.

Blood-red shards rained down from above like a deluge, covering a vast area and flying at high speeds. Each feather was perfectly intercepted and shattered.

Lin Qingliu’s charged strike was thus perfectly countered.

The griffin lifted its head to look at the sky, as if the boss in a game that had been hit with a knife began to closely regard its challengers.

In the sky, a figure with Blood-red Wings was also diving down, locking eyes with Lin Qingliu.
