Chapter 424
byChapter 424: The City of the Beast Race
Xu Fan twirled the time crystal ball in his hand and muttered, "Good thing I didn’t stash this in the treasury. If the first clone got its hands on it and refined it, I’d be in deep trouble."
The time crystal ball Xu Fan held was the core spirit ore needed to craft a high-grade time chamber. He hadn’t started the project yet because he was still missing some spirit ore.
"I wonder if anyone’s trading the remaining spirit ore on the stars along the human race navigation route in the Extreme Void Domain. If not, I might have to make a trip to the demon race," Xu Fan mused.
The recent mission to destroy the Moon Fox holy city had given Xu Fan a glimpse into the vast resources of the major clans in the demon race. It was truly eye-opening.
In Xu Fan’s mind, the treasury and resources of the beast race’s holy city had become synonymous with wealth and power.
"Master, the railgun has already reached the demon race," Grape reported.
"That was fast," Xu Fan said, surprised.
"Take a look at the inventory of artifact-level spirit ores in the treasury."
A light curtain appeared before Xu Fan. After a quick scan, he nearly ground his back teeth in frustration.
"My Wind Tooth Stone!" Xu Fan groaned, feeling like the first clone had developed some bizarre tendencies.
"Ah, well. At least it’s quick," Xu Fan said, suppressing the urge to dismantle the first clone.
"Grape, have that Iron Mischief Monkey master craftsman forge a Core Formation Stage Puppet for me. I’ll need it when I head to the demon race," Xu Fan said after a moment of thought.
Using a Void Refinement Stage Puppet to explore the demon race was risky. If he ran into a beast king, there’d be no chance of escape—no matter which beast king it was.
"Understood. The task has been assigned," Grape replied.
Meanwhile, in a remote part of the demon race, a massive City of the Beast Race was under construction.
Above the city gate, the words "Fairness, Order, Equality for All Tribes" were inscribed.
Inside the nearly completed city, various small clans and other beast race species lived together peacefully.
Squads of Iron Mischief Monkey-like puppets patrolled the area, with the strongest among them at the Void Refinement Stage.
From the top of a tall tower, the Earth Crystal Spider watched as small tribes that once fought each other now traded peacefully. Even former enemies in life and death were sharing meals without conflict.
"This isn’t so bad," the Earth Crystal Spider said, her gaze distant.
"Of course, maintaining order requires overwhelming strength," a Void Refinement Stage Puppet said as it walked by.
"Most of the small tribes within tens of thousands of miles have been subdued. What’s next?" the Earth Crystal Spider asked, snapping out of her reverge and looking determined.
"Our next task is to maintain order in this city, turning it into a fair trading hub. From here, we’ll expand our influence across a hundred thousand miles."
"We’ll also collect the spirit ores the master needs—and those he might need in the future," the puppet replied calmly.
"Grape One, have you ever thought about transforming the entire demon race into a place like this?" the Earth Crystal Spider asked, gesturing below with a wistful expression.
"My purpose is self-preservation and storage. What you’re suggesting goes beyond my scope," the Void Refinement Stage Puppet replied, shaking its head.
"Then do you think your master would create a demon race like this?" the Earth Crystal Spider asked, shifting her approach.
The Void Refinement Stage Puppet paused briefly, streams of data flashing in its eyes as it monitored the Underground Base beneath the city.
"I don’t speculate about the master’s intentions," the puppet said.
"Alright, I get it now. Your master must be one of those ancient great beasts—incredibly powerful. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to use those long-lost divine abilities."
A shadow of a Devouring Dragon Demon Spider appeared behind the Earth Crystal Spider. With this ability, it felt confident against any Core Formation stage beast race.
"I hope he can create a world like this throughout the demon race," the Earth Crystal Spider said with hope.
At that moment, a red light fell from the distance and then exploded.
"Another foolish Core Formation stage beast race coming to cause trouble! How many times has this been? They just won’t give up," the Earth Crystal Spider scoffed.
The City of the Beast Race stipulated that any beast race above the Core Formation stage must report before approaching the city, or else they were prohibited from coming within three thousand miles of the city.
"Once the City of the Beast Race stabilizes, I need you to form a guard squad and recruit small clans as the foundation of this Giant City," the Void Refinement Stage Puppet said.
"Understood. This is my specialty," the Earth Crystal Spider revealed its little sharp fangs.
At that moment, the Void Refinement Stage Puppet suddenly looked up at a certain point in the sky.
"Grape One, what’s wrong?" the Earth Crystal Spider asked.
"I received a signal from the master," the Void Refinement Stage Puppet replied.
"Are you going to look for your master?"
"No, the master ordered me to wait here. The distance between us is far too great," the Void Refinement Stage Puppet stated.
"Oh."
The Earth Crystal Spider sighed in relief. During their time together, she felt this was the most interesting period of her life, seeing so many new things every day.
Especially with the recent establishment of the City of the Beast Race, she sensed something different. The rules Grape One had set in place formed the current scene, captivating her.
She felt a bit attached to Grape One and sometimes prayed in her heart that Grape One’s master would never show up.
At this moment, the only demon artifact shop in the City of the Beast Race opened its doors.
Countless beasts waiting there rushed into the demon artifact shop at once.
As soon as they entered, the beasts began handing over various treasures and precious spirit ores at the front desk to exchange for something called credit points, then rushed inside to frantically purchase demon artifacts suitable for their kind.
"Are you making a profit like this?" the Earth Crystal Spider asked as it watched the beasts purchase demon artifacts on the light curtain.
For the beast race, the only way for a small clan to acquire a suitable demon artifact was to go to a large clan’s holy city or territory to buy one, and the prices were incredibly high.
A very ordinary demon artifact could take a beast decades to gather enough spirit materials and spirit ores.
So, in the eyes of an ordinary beast, a demon artifact was a luxury item.
"Following the pricing standards set by the master, we won’t lose," the Void Refinement Stage Puppet replied.
In the Underground Base of the City of the Beast Race, hundreds of thousands of puppets were participating in crafting demon artifacts.
One by one, demon artifacts equivalent to human race artifact-level items were being produced. Although these were considered basic treasures in the eyes of ordinary artifact masters, lacking any striking features besides being sturdy and durable, they were sufficient for the small clans.
"By the way, when will you craft the demon artifact I asked for?" the Earth Crystal Spider inquired.
"You are the master of the City of the Beast Race and don’t need to fight. Two Demon Suppressing Stars and thousands of precious artifact satellites in the sky provide protection for you."
"You don’t need a demon artifact."
