Chapter 469: Spirit Breaking

"Spirit Cut Elder, the Heavy Water Source Blade isn’t good for absorbing blood; it could mess up the spirit inside," Xu Fan added.

"Ha, I’ll remember that next time. I’m so used to my Blood Spirit Great Knife, it’s hard to switch," Spirit Cut Elder said, a bit sheepishly.

With a quick wave, the Heavy Water Source Blade went back into Li Chufan’s body.

"Grandpa doesn’t need it now."

"Okay."

Li Chufan kept chasing the Dragon Egg with his friends, as it sped up.

"Grand Elder, can we add this when you make a celestial tool for me?" Spirit Cut Elder asked, showing a blood-red stone that gave off a strong blood aura.

"Blood Source Crystal? Where’d you get that, Spirit Cut Elder?" Xu Fan asked, curious.

"During the five years you were away, I sometimes took the Heavy Water Source Blade to hunt beast kings when I was bored. Found this on one," Spirit Cut Elder explained.

"We can use it, but we need to check what true spirit’s blood made this Blood Source Stone. If it’s low quality, it might weaken the celestial tool," Xu Fan said, cutting a small piece off the stone.

He made some hand signs, and a blood-colored Formation appeared in the sky. He flicked the small piece of Blood Source Stone into it.

The Formation changed, forming a humanoid ancient demon with horns and a mystical eye on its forehead that sees everything.

"This is the Blood Source Stone of the Sky-Watching Ancient Demon!" Spirit Cut Elder exclaimed.

Xu Fan wasn’t too surprised, just sighed a little, thinking about the higher cost for Spirit Cut Elder’s celestial tool.

"Grand Elder, what happens if we put this Sky-Watching Ancient Demon’s Blood Source Crystal into the celestial tool?" Spirit Cut Elder asked excitedly.

"The cost will… well, the celestial tool will be really powerful," Xu Fan quickly corrected.

"The tool will have a bit of the Sky-Watching Ancient Demon’s power, along with your Blood Sea technique."

"In your Blood Sea, no true spirit will escape the notice of this celestial tool knife, though it’s not absolute."

"Then I’ll trouble the Grand Elder," Spirit Cut Elder said happily, imagining the powerful celestial tool knife he wanted. Could he take on ten beast kings at once?

"I promised you that long ago; no need to be so polite," Xu Fan said, smiling.

He realized his disciple’s guardian was set on staying in the Hidden Spirit Sect forever, maybe even after ascending to the Upper World.

After a while, Spirit Cut Elder, finding no fish, moved the spirit turtle elsewhere.

"Speaking of making celestial tools, don’t I still have a stick to deal with?" Xu Fan said.

"This celestial tool stick, my disciples can’t use it."

"No one in the sect is good with sticks."

"Never mind; I’ll handle it myself."

Soon, three Void Refinement Stage Puppets brought a rectangular box to Xu Fan.

"Let’s make a Great Ascension stage level puppet to match this stick," Xu Fan said, raising his hand as the celestial tool stick flew out of the box.

"It’s really ugly; must be a celestial tool used by ancient demons from ancient times."

The entire stick was perfectly round, crafted from a divine iron not native to this world.

Its power was singular yet immensely potent; a single strike could shatter anything.

The celestial tool stick floated before Xu Fan.

Xu Fan’s eyes sparkled with a spiritual light as he gazed at the celestial script character for "break" inscribed on the stick.

“Could this truly be the legendary wide road celestial script?” Xu Fan murmured.

When his wife had given him this celestial tool stick, he had been too overjoyed to notice its true nature, assuming it was just an ordinary celestial tool.

Now, upon closer inspection, he realized how extraordinary it was.

The celestial tool was forged from an unknown divine iron, devoid of the usual intricate celestial script formations, containing only the single character for "break."

Yet, this single celestial script gave Xu Fan an unfathomable feeling.

“This stick must have a significant history. Well, no matter; I’ll claim it as my own first.”

Xu Fan summoned a flow of golden sand, and the Phoenix Divine Fire appeared around him.

With the aid of the Phoenix Divine Fire, Xu Fan used the golden sand as a base to carve a sealing formation onto the surface of the celestial tool stick.

Following that, a celestial tool recognition formation emerged.

The spirit of the celestial tool stick barely reacted before recognizing Xu Fan as its master.

“From now on, I’ll call you Spirit Breaking,” Xu Fan said, looking at the stick.

At that moment, the stick trembled slightly, and the words "Spirit Breaking" appeared on both ends.

It then began to nuzzle against Xu Fan like an affectionate child.

Xu Fan stroked the stick, which now seemed like a child, and said, “It seems your previous master didn’t wait long enough to find a new one.”

Just then, Li Chufan walked across the seawater, standing a short distance away.

He hesitated to approach Spirit Breaking.

“Master Ancestor, the Heavy Water Source Blade told me it’s afraid of this stick,” Li Chufan said.

“Is that so? Then I’ll take it back.”

Xu Fan waved his hand, and Spirit Breaking vanished into his body.

“Alright, you’ve had your fun; now it’s time to train,” Xu Fan said with a smile.

At that moment, the companions Xu Fan had summoned to play with Li Chufan appeared, wielding various weapons, and charged toward him.

“Watch closely, Master Ancestor.”

Li Chufan summoned the Heavy Water Source Blade and engaged in combat with his former playmates.

The youthful figure Xu Fan had conjured matched Li Chufan’s age and cultivation level.

“His fundamentals are quite solid,” Xu Fan remarked with a smile as he watched Li Chufan hold his own against multiple opponents.

“Look, your grandson may not have exceptional talent, but his comprehension is strong.”

“He’s absorbed the teachings from the sect’s virtual courses and can apply them effectively,” Xu Fan said to the empty air beside him.

Suddenly, a figure appeared, and Wang Yulun stood beside Xu Fan.

“Can’t you pretend not to notice?”

“Then I’d seem blind. You’ve learned this invisibility technique but never practiced it, have you?” Xu Fan chuckled.

“I’ve done alright; it just seems ineffective around you,” Wang Yulun replied, glancing at his beloved grandson.

“Everything about him is good except for his talent.”

“With you, me, and his wealthy mother backing him, talent isn’t a major concern anymore.”

“We can even help Chufan ascend without spirit roots; with enough resources, fame isn’t meaningless,” Xu Fan said casually.

Now, aside from the lack of spirit roots, Xu Fan had solutions for everything. Even if it required five spirit roots, he could find a way for Chufan to ascend to the Upper World.

“Is investing really that powerful?” Wang Yulun asked, puzzled, as he had only heard Xu Fan mention it without experiencing its effects firsthand.

“Let me show you.”

As Xu Fan spoke, a droplet of the origin of fire appeared in his hand, transforming into smoke that formed a profound formation.

Xu Fan condensed the formation at his fingertips and pressed it against Wang Yulun’s forehead.

Instantly, Wang Yulun entered a state of enlightenment.

“I planned to enlighten you later, but since you’ve come to me, let’s do it now.”

“You should strive harder; your son has already reached the Transformation Stage, while you’re still at the Nascent Soul Stage.”
