Chapter 762: Enlightenment Flower

"The sect’s interests are supreme."

"The Grand Elder is the only true deity in my heart."

"Devoted to the sect, loyal to the Grand Elder. I am willing to be a sword, to clear all obstacles for the Grand Elder."

Xu Fan watched the group of demons chanting slogans under the pangolin’s leadership and nodded.

Yes, the vibe was spot on.

"Master, doesn’t this feel a bit fake?" Xu Yuexian said awkwardly.

"Let it be for now. If we say it enough, it might just become real."

Xu Fan had appointed the pangolin as Inspector mainly for the sake of the demon division’s next generation.

His goal was to indoctrinate the newly born demons, ensuring their loyalty to the Hidden Spirit Sect.

After all, he still had 1,000 years left in the cultivation world—time that could feel both long and short.

In 1,000 years, he could cultivate a new generation of demons fiercely loyal to the sect.

Xu Yuexian nodded, though she only half-understood.

"I can only stay in this realm for another 1,000 years at most."

"So, when I ascend, I plan to take the entire sect with me to the upper realm. This is just laying the groundwork early," Xu Fan said with a smile.

"In 1,000 years, Master, you must take us with you when you ascend," Xu Yuexian insisted.

"If you’re willing to follow me, I’ll definitely bring you along. If you choose to stay in this realm, that’s fine too."

"By then, I’ll leave behind an inheritance in the lower realm to ensure the Hidden Spirit Sect doesn’t fade away here," Xu Fan said as he led Xu Yuexian away from the demon division.

In the Hidden Spirit Sect’s Source Realm, Xu Fan was teaching and answering questions for his disciples.

"Master, I feel like I’m about to reach the Overcoming Tribulations stage," Xu Gang said.

Li Xingci chimed in, saying he was nearing the Overcoming Tribulations stage as well.

Xu Fan glanced at his disciples and nodded slightly, sensing they were ready.

In recent years, the sect had established numerous cultivation places, and thanks to Xu Fan’s efforts to gather celestial energy, it was now in ample supply for the entire Hidden Spirit Sect.

As a result, whether it was his disciples or the other students, their cultivation realms had been advancing rapidly.

"You two are ready. There’s no need to hold back any longer," Xu Fan said with a nod.

"I think you can handle the Overcoming Tribulations on your own. No need for me to step in," Xu Fan added with a smile.

"Of course, Master. We can manage it ourselves," Xu Gang and Li Xingci replied confidently.

Meanwhile, Wang Xiangchi wore a somber expression.

Over the years, he felt like he’d hit a bottleneck in his cultivation. Despite his Master’s exceptional guidance, his progress in swordsmanship seemed sluggish.

Xu Fan noticed this but chose not to intervene.

Sometimes, in cultivation, you need to clear the blockages.

Other times, you just have to wait it out.

Wang Xiangchi’s cultivation path was the second type, but this time, he had been holding back for quite a while.

“Xiangchi, you seem so troubled. Should I let your junior brother give you a boost?”

Wang Xiangchi paused; what did "give you a boost" mean?

"Master means I should use the Rebirth Technique on you, to change your way of living and lighten your mood," Li Xingci explained from the side.

Wang Xiangchi quickly shook his head. The last time he experienced the Rebirth Technique, it left him with a lingering thought that had now turned into his inner demons.

If he tried it again, who knew what might happen?

“Since you’re unwilling, it’s fine. In cultivation, it’s more about your own understanding,” Xu Fan advised.

“I’ll go over the basics of swordsmanship again. Even if you don’t practice it, you should still listen carefully.” Xu Fan explained the fundamentals of swordsmanship clearly, starting from the simplest concepts and moving deeper.

Xu Fan made the basics of swordsmanship crystal clear.

Except for Wang Xiangchi, who was cultivating swordsmanship, the other disciples showed faint traces of sword intent within them. With a bit more practice, they could step into the world of swordsmanship.

Though Wang Xiangchi gained some insights, it wasn’t enough to break through his current bottleneck.

Under the bright moon, in Wang Xiangchi’s courtyard,

Han Feiyu and Wang Xiangchi were enjoying wine and admiring the moon.

“Master, you’ve seemed troubled lately. Have you hit a barrier in your swordsmanship?”

Han Feiyu picked up the wine jug and poured a cup for his master.

“Though I don’t want to admit it, that’s exactly what’s happening,” Wang Xiangchi said, gazing at the bright moon.

With a casual swing of his sword, he slashed at the moon in the sky.

A beam of moonlight sword light shot through a small hole in the grand formation, soaring into the sky.

It then exploded, scattering into dots of moonlight.

“I’ve hit a bottleneck in my swordsmanship. Even though I know how to break through, it’s just…”

Wang Xiangchi spoke as he raised the cup and downed the wine in one gulp.

As a good disciple, Han Feiyu looked at his troubled master.

He thought for a moment and took out a basin the size of a water tank made of Immortal Jade, in which a stunningly beautiful purple spiritual flower was planted in spirit soil.

“Is this the Enlightenment Flower?” Wang Xiangchi asked uncertainly.

“I’ve heard that absorbing the essence of the Enlightenment Flower can help break through a bottleneck. Master, you should give it a try,” Han Feiyu said, mentioning that he had dozens of these Enlightenment Flowers growing in the Daoist artifact palace.

“No, you should use it instead.”

“Master Ancestor told me to hold back for a while with this bottleneck. The longer I hold back, the greater the breakthrough will be,” Wang Xiangchi declined.

“Since Master won’t use it, let’s keep it in your courtyard as a decorative plant.”

“Just watching it for a while each day will be pleasing to the eye and soothing for the mind.”

Han Feiyu had tried it; watching the Enlightenment Flower sway in the wind cleared his mind for the entire day.

However, due to his poor aptitude, it didn’t really help him in his cultivation.

“Keep it. This Enlightenment Flower is beneficial even for an invincible respected elder. Whether you sell it or use it as a favor, it’ll greatly help you later,” Wang Xiangchi said. Though he knew his disciple likely had dozens of these flowers, as a master, he couldn’t just take his disciple’s treasures for free.

Han Feiyu nodded and quietly put away the Enlightenment Flower.

“What has Brother Wujie been up to lately?” Wang Xiangchi asked.

“He’s been exterminating the beast race in Hunyuan State and will probably return soon,” Han Feiyu said.

“That little rascal is quite the force,” Wang Xiangchi chuckled.

“I’d like to join Brother Wujie in exterminating the beast race soon. I hope Master will allow it,” Han Feiyu said.

Having stayed at the sect for too long, Han Feiyu felt a strong desire to go out and explore.

“Go ahead. It’s good to venture out and gain experience. In a while, I’ll go out too. Maybe some battles will help me break through my bottleneck,” Wang Xiangchi said after a moment of thought.

“Master, why don’t we three go together, just like before?” Han Feiyu suggested.

“No need. You two little rascals are each more talented than the other. You’re close to surpassing me in swordsmanship. Being with you, I fear I won’t get enough training opportunities.”
