Chapter 309: Yin City God Emerges, Decree of Judgment

In his past life, Mu Lin hailed from a land without gods. A great sage once declared: "Struggle against heaven brings boundless joy, struggle against earth brings boundless joy, struggle against mankind brings boundless joy."

This indomitable spirit of defying celestial and earthly forces allowed Mu Lin to shed his reverence for deities after grasping even a sliver of its essence.

"Deities are merely higher beings. What they’ve achieved, I can too."

Fearless, Mu Lin’s eyes blazed with intense fighting spirit. His unyielding will to confront divine beings – even contemplate deicide – caused the fire of pride in his sea of consciousness to erupt violently.

"Boom!"

The explosive flames of consciousness shattered mental boundaries, manifesting above his head and behind his back. Crown-shaped flames materialized overhead while fiery plumes resembling wings unfurled behind him.

"This imagery mirrors the Western Lucifer’s legend."

"Both born of pride, both standing beside gods… though I differ from that Morning Star Child. He rebelled against the holy son, not the God Himself."

"More crucially – he fell, while I remain standing."

"Boom!"

As Mu Lin pondered, the flames spread to his Beiwai Army. This wasn’t mere spectacle – while scorching their bodies, the fire of pride enhanced them beyond normal limits, granting unimaginable power. The crown flames simultaneously boosted mental resistance, rendering them immune to supernatural influences.

With this explosive power surge, his Beiwai Army could’ve slain the previous Crimson Child without Mu Lin’s direct involvement.

Yet their enhanced strength proved insufficient against the current Crimson Ruler. Despite its weakened state, the Beiwai Army’s rising value couldn’t bridge the gap.

"Swish!"

Its blinding speed and Grandmaster-level combat skills overwhelmed even the empowered soldiers. Worse, the Crimson Ruler kept evolving mid-battle through primal instinct.

Realization struck Mu Lin – victory required his personal intervention.

For the first time, Mu Lin unleashed his full arsenal.

"Hum!"

Through sheer will, a majestic divine figure materialized behind him. Accompanying this manifestation came continuous projections of solemn architecture resembling government offices – the Yin City God Temple.

With the temple’s appearance, Mu Lin’s ultimate manifestation became clear – he’d summoned his supreme spiritual incarnation: the City God itself.

The divine entity did not engage directly. Representing celestial authority rather than brute force, its combat methods proved unconventional.

"Smack!"

“Silence!”

Seated on the official chair, the City God body slammed the judgment wood and barked the command.

As his voice echoed and the wood struck the desk, ripples spread outward, sweeping through the air.

When they reached the sky, the Crimson Ruler—locked in combat with the Beiwai Army—froze momentarily.

His body stiffened, his aura dimmed, as if forcibly muted.

This was the power of the City God.

Though bound to the land and unable to leave without losing strength, he could wield the forces of nature there to suppress foes.

The Crimson Ruler’s paralysis was the visible result of this suppression.

Of course, the City God alone couldn’t fully restrain the Crimson Ruler—his rank was too high. What truly immobilized him was the combined might of the City God Realm’s suppression, the Root Word ‘Fix,’ and the Divinity of Silence.

Together, they weakened the Crimson Ruler’s aura.

Yet when blood-red runes flashed, the Crimson Ruler broke free.

His three-headed, six-armed form evolved again. Though his main body remained unchanged, dark golden Cicada Wings sprouted from his back, amplifying his power.

Mu Lin sensed traces of space and time within those wings.

*Adaptation. Evolution. No matter the attack, he develops a countermeasure… The Crimson Ruler’s power is terrifying.*

Mu Lin took grim solace in knowing the creature wasn’t at full strength—its mind fractured, energy depleted. Evolution demanded vast resources, forcing it to make minor adjustments rather than becoming a divine beast or demon king.

“No time to waste,” Mu Lin muttered. “His awareness is returning. He’s absorbing energy. If he regains even the Transformation stage, I’m finished.”

His eyes hardened as he roared, “Lawless wretch! You defy this court’s authority, slaughter innocents, and plunder without remorse. Your crimes warrant shackles, beheading, the Sentence of a Thousand Cuts, the Copper Pillar’s sear, the Boiling Oil, dismemberment by steeds, and endless blades!”

Like a magistrate pronouncing judgment, the City God listed each punishment. This wasn’t empty rhetoric—Mu Lin’s divine authority as City God made the verdict real. Worldly energy coalesced into tortures that assailed the Crimson Child.

Shackles materialized, clamping onto its limbs. A glowing Copper Pillar seared its flesh. Blades carved its body, oil boiled its wounds—each torment sapped its rising power, leaving its form battered.

Yet Mu Lin frowned. Despite the mutilations, the Crimson Child lived. Its flesh knitted rapidly, adapting to each agony.

“Troublesome…”

Mu Lin felt a headache and was somewhat dissatisfied with his previous attack.

Outside, the powerful clans watched Mu Lin’s performance in stunned silence.

"He actually suppressed the Crimson Ruler…"

"Is the Deity really that weak?"

"Weak? The Crimson Ruler’s current form isn’t complete. His consciousness might not have recovered even a fraction…"

"No, this isn’t about the Crimson Ruler. Mu Lin’s too strong. He radiates the aura of High Mastery of Transformation and commands the forces of nature… Has he truly only practiced for half a year?"

"…"

The question left many speechless.

Half a year to reach High Mastery of Transformation. Such speed made seasoned practitioners feel their decades of cultivation had been wasted.

Some mindsets shattered, while others felt momentary relief.

"There’s hope. Mu Lin might actually stop this evil god’s revival."

"It’s possible…"

As outsiders marveled, Mu Lin frowned at his own performance.

_Bang!_

_Crack!_

The Crimson Child erupted through heartbeat vibrations when sensing mortal danger.

Breaking free from restraints, the creature launched itself as a crimson streak toward Mu Lin.

Even with primitive instincts, it recognized the greatest threat.

But Mu Lin remained unfazed.

His Beiwai Army reacted instantly. Hundreds formed military formations to block the assault.

The projection of Cangshan Yumen Pass merged with Yin City God Temple, layering fortress protections over Mu Lin’s divine domain.

"You can’t break through. You can’t kill me."

_Schlick!_

The Crimson Child suddenly appeared beside Mu Lin. A long knife pierced his heart, severed his head, and split his torso – six blades flashing.

Only in death did Mu Lin notice the dark Cicada Wings shimmering with residual spatial energy.

[Spatial Teleportation]

Those wings had broken nature’s suppression, enhanced speed, and now demonstrated teleportation.

The ambush caught Mu Lin completely unprepared. Such attacks would kill ordinary practitioners instantly, proving why evil gods were feared.

But Mu Lin wasn’t ordinary.

His master-level Substitute Paper Figure allowed endless retries.

Though the attack came suddenly, Mu Lin’s injuries transferred away instantly. The Crimson Child’s speed actually helped – one paper figure absorbed all damage.
