Chapter 485: Wrestling with a Deity

Mu Lin’s fist, blazing with endless radiance, smashed toward the Mother of the Nest Worms’ head.

"Boom!"

That punch was both a physical strike and a nuclear explosion.

Upon impact, blinding light and devastating force erupted from Mu Lin’s fist. The shockwave and brilliance cracked the Mother of the Nest Worms’ crystalline shell, forcing her back several steps.

—Her evolved crystalline shell could absorb light and convert it into energy, but the process required time and had limits.

The instantaneous blast overwhelmed her defenses, inflicting damage.

To Mu Lin’s frustration, the devastating blow only caused superficial wounds, leaving her core unharmed.

Her retreat spanned mere steps—while Mu Lin’s three-thousand-meter divine body loomed large, the Mother of the Nest Worms stretched thirty-thousand meters long, rivaling a small asteroid. Her colossal size granted peerless strength and resilience, reducing his nuclear-grade strike to little more than an irritant.

"Damn!"

"Too damn tough!"

The failed attack cost Mu Lin one of his arms, now reduced to vapor. He gritted his teeth, but soon had no time to dwell on it.

The Mother of the Nest Worms struck back.

Injured by this insignificant speck, she roared in humiliation, lashing out with unprecedented fury.

"Screeeech!!!"

Thousands of whip-like tentacles burst from her body, thrashing toward Mu Lin in a maelstrom of destruction.

"Swish! Swish! Swish!"

Each tentacle strike obliterated matter itself, tearing space into void fragments. Yet against Mu Lin, they proved futile.

Though massive, the Giant God of Light moved with blinding speed.

"Whoosh!"

A single beat of his wings transformed him into a streak of light, evading the onslaught. Instead of retreating, he pressed the assault, fists hammering relentlessly.

"ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!"

"Crash! Crash! Crash!"

Mu Lin became a shimmering blur, circling the colossus as his fists pummeled her form like meteoric hail. Without gathering strength, he couldn’t shatter her crystalline armor—but his barrage still drew blood.

The harassment enraged the Mother of the Nest Worms further. New tentacles sprouted wildly as her attacks gained terrifying speed.

At this moment, Mu Lin and the Mother of the Nest Worms resembled a warrior battling a mindless beast, locked in a brutal brawl. Their close combat stemmed from necessity—the Martial Arts Dominance restrictions, energy decay, and night’s stillness had layered chaotic rules across this divine war battlefield, preventing any techniques from projecting far. Attacks weakened a hundredfold when distanced, vanishing entirely after short flights. Forced to rely on their divine bodies, the two clashed directly.

Their struggle reached a stalemate. Though the Mother of the Nest Worms boasted unmatched strength, impenetrable defenses, and bizarre abilities, Mu Lin matched her with blinding speed. In martial arts, nothing withstands absolute swiftness. His velocity rendered her attacks futile—her power meant nothing if she couldn’t land a hit.

But as Mu Lin believed he could stall her with speed, a resonant buzz echoed. The Mother of the Nest Worms shifted form again, morphing from a crystalline firefly into a monstrous spider. When its eighty thousand legs tapped the void, Mu Lin sensed an all-encompassing web spreading through the air. Strands coiled around him uncontrollably, dragging his speed down. Though Divine Light erupted from him moments later, purging the spider silk, the delay let the Mother close in. Tentacles lashed out, caging him in a storm of strikes.

"ORA!" Refusing to yield, Mu Lin retaliated with machine-gun fists while sixteen wings showered feathers around him.

Boom…

Boom…

Boom roar!!!

Each feather detonated like a nuclear bomb, bathing the area in searing flames. Yet Mu Lin still got hurled backward. Frustrated by her tentacles’ failure, the Mother rammed him with her thirty-thousand-meter bulk—a meteor strike amplified by insectile muscles capable of lifting magnitudes beyond their weight. Entangled in webs and tendrils, Mu Lin couldn’t evade.

CRASH!

Had this collision struck the unrestricted Xuanling world, continents would’ve shattered into sinking ruins. Mu Lin’s organs ruptured, vision darkening. But severe wounds didn’t cripple him.

"I am the Calamity King! All suffering bends to my dominion!" he roared. "Absorb this pain!"

Buzz.

Injuries dissolved into calamity energy, absorbed by his command. Though vanished, the calamity’s departure left gaps in his flesh. Fortunately, wielding creative authority, Mu Lin regenerated missing tissue. Restored, he grinned savagely at the Mother.

"You can’t kill me! ORA!"

Their battle reignited, fiercer than before.
