Chapter 478
byChapter 478: Encirclement
The appearance of the Thunder Spirit Beast instantly heightened Ye Yun’s state to its peak. He could clearly sense the immense power within the three to four zhang tall beast before him. Even with his newly cultivated Great Demon Body, he knew he couldn’t withstand such force.
"We attack together. Defeat it, and the Thunder Wood is yours. I’ll take the seed of the mysteries of thunder," Jun Ruolan said, her fair face flickering with excitement.
Ye Yun nodded slightly but grew more curious. Jun Ruolan had casually spent a million top-grade spirit stones, ignored her fellow disciples’ safety, and carried herself as if others were beneath her notice. Her background couldn’t be ordinary—she seemed unimpressed by even the Misty Sect and Divine Grace Palace, hinting at a higher power behind her. Yet despite her status, her frenzy over the thunder seed puzzled him. Could it truly grant control over lightning without mastering Thunder Spirit Qi or the Lightning Element Law?
Thunder was celestial judgment. True mastery would be formidable, but Ye Yun doubted anyone below the Earth Immortal realm—or even the Immortal realm—could achieve it. What secret made Jun Ruolan so desperate?
The Thunder Spirit Beast stared coldly at them, as if a mere flick of Divine Thunder would reduce them to fragments.
"It’s born of thunder and holds the seed, letting it command vast lightning. Even a seventh-level Golden Core stage expert couldn’t survive its full strike," Jun Ruolan whispered.
"How much range does it control?" Ye Yun asked.
"The thunder here is either natural or the work of an ancient expert. Golden Core stage cultivators can enter, but Nascent Soul stage ones get obliterated," she replied. "The beast’s range matters less than the power it unleashes against us. Since it’s restricted to Golden Core strength, we stand a chance. Otherwise, one bolt would mean death and disappearance of the spirit."
Ye Yun wondered—how could a natural valley have such lasting restrictions? What kind of expert could create this? The thought reshaped his understanding of true power.
"Found you."
Three figures emerged from the Sea of Thunder.
"Jun Ruolan! Of course you’d come for the thunder seed," Su Xingyun’s voice rang out as he, Ying Wujun, and Jue Chen stepped forward.
"Your noses are sharp," Jun Ruolan said coldly.
Jue Chen sneered at Ye Yun. "You needed a woman’s help to enter this treasure area? Pathetic."
Ye Yun scoffed. "And you’d be alive without that Glazed Umbrella?"
Jue Chen stiffened, noticing Ye Yun stood unprotected in the thunder. "You… you mastered Thunder Spirit Qi from Thunder Spirit crystals? Impossible!"
"Enough talk. Want the beast? Attack first," Ye Yun retorted.
Jun Ruolan agreed. "Let’s see whose skills prevail."
Su Xingyun chuckled. "Why rush? The beast won’t move unless provoked. Jun Ruolan, you joined the Misty Sect three years ago yet hold high status—how?"
"None of your concern," she snapped.
"Fine. We’ll take the thunder seed and one Thunder Wood eye. You keep the other," Su Xingyun offered.
Jun Ruolan’s voice turned icy. "No deals. We fight as rivals."
"Then don’t blame us later," Su Xingyun said darkly.
"Since when does the Thunder Spirit Beast belong to you?"
New figures emerged from the thunder. Ye Yun’s eyes widened in shock.
