Chapter 479
byChapter 479: United Efforts?
Three figures emerged from the Sea of Thunder. Leading them was Yun Tianxing of the Golden Sword Sect, who had entered the treasure area alongside Ye Yun before being separated by teleportation. Behind him stood Zeng Xuan, another practitioner of Thunder Spirit Qi—a man Ye Yun had never fully understood.
But it was the youth beside Zeng Xuan that froze Ye Yun in disbelief.
“Shen Mo? Is that really you?”
Ye Yun never imagined Shen Mo, the dark-skinned, slender boy, would appear here.
“Brother Ye! You actually made it to the Great Qin Empire and even reached Thunder Falls Valley’s treasure area!” Shen Mo’s face lit up. After a momentary pause, he rushed forward.
Shen Mo hadn’t grown taller, still thin and wiry, but an invisible mist swirled around him, shielding him from the crackling lightning.
“Ye Yun. We meet again,” Yun Tianxing said with a faint smile.
“Brother Yun. Hasn’t it only been a moment since we parted?” Ye Yun replied.
“A moment? Time flows differently here. What felt brief was actually eight days. The valley’s passage reopens tomorrow—the great formation will expel us then,” Yun Tianxing explained.
Ye Yun stared, stunned. “Eight days? Impossible.”
Zeng Xuan stepped forward. “It’s true. Including the initial day, only one remains for Thunder Falls Valley’s trial. The Thunder Spirit Beast wouldn’t have manifested otherwise.”
Ye Yun’s brow furrowed as he glanced at the motionless beast. Eight days had vanished? He’d assumed he had time to claim both Thunder Wood and Ice Spirit Herb. Now the wood formed the creature’s eyes—where was the herb?
“Brother Ye, why didn’t you contact me in the Great Qin Empire? If not for meeting Brother Yun, I’d never have known you were here!” Shen Mo said excitedly. Though their time together at the Heavenly Sword Sect had been short, their bond forged through hardship ran deep.
“Just seeing you again is enough,” Ye Yun said, ruffling Shen Mo’s hair warmly.
Jun Ruolan observed the newcomers calmly. “Yun Tianxing. Zeng Xuan. Since even you two can’t slay this Thunder Spirit Beast alone, let’s join forces. Afterward, we’ll negotiate the division of Thunder Wood and other treasures.”
Ying Wujun and Su Xingyun tensed. Against just Ye Yun and Jun Ruolan, they’d have seized the treasures. But Yun Tianxing and Zeng Xuan complicated matters.
“Yun Tianxing,” Su Xingyun challenged, “the seed of the mysteries of thunder means little to you. Why meddle?”
“Little?” Yun Tianxing’s smile chilled. “That seed holds secret techniques to command heavenly thunder itself. Master it, and why waste Thunder Spirit Qi?”
Zeng Xuan’s voice cut through the storm. “Foolish. The seed’s true power lies with those who grasp Thunder Spirit Qi or Lightning Element Law. A gesture summons storms; deeper understanding unleashes unimaginable might. Yet you claim it’s useless?”
Ye Yun shot Jun Ruolan a sharp look—she’d lied about the seed’s irrelevance to Thunder Spirit practitioners.
Jun Ruolan met his gaze impassively. “Ying Wujun isn’t wrong. But they overlook the seed’s limits. It grants control, not true comprehension. Misuse warps one’s understanding of Lightning Element Law.”
“First I’ve heard of this,” Yun Tianxing said politely. “Your source?”
“Your cultivation levels are too low,” Jun Ruolan dismissed. “When you finally touch the Lightning Element Law, you’ll understand.”
Yun Tianxing laughed. “In all Great Qin, how many grasp Thunder Spirit Qi? Let alone Lightning Law? Even if true, that’s a concern for later. Right now, that seed benefits us greatly.”
Zeng Xuan’s burning eyes never left the Thunder Spirit Beast.
“Then let actions decide,” Jun Ruolan said coolly, her gaze flicking to Ye Yun. Lightning Element Law… perhaps one here already touched it.
“The Thunder Spirit Beast stands at peak Golden Core realm—nearly invincible here. Even with our Thunder Spirit Qi, Zeng Xuan and I can’t face it alone. We unite first, then divide spoils,” Yun Tianxing declared.
“Agreed!” Ying Wujun’s eyes glowed hungrily.
Su Xingyun shrugged. “No objections.”
“Anyone holding back dies,” Jun Ruolan stated flatly.
Ye Yun and Shen Mo chatted casually, knowing none could face the beast alone.
“Ye Yun,” Yun Tianxing directed, “we three will provoke it with Lightning Techniques. Jun Ruolan and Su Xingyun deliver the killing blows.”
“Fine by me,” Ye Yun shrugged.
None objected—fools didn’t reach their cultivation level. Without unity, they’d lose both treasures and lives.
As preparations concluded, the Thunder Spirit Beast watched coldly—these ants barely warranted attention.
Purple light erupted from Yun Tianxing’s palm. Heavenly thunder crashed down, coalescing into a spinning whirlpool before lancing toward the beast.
The hunt began.
