Chapter 497
byChapter 497: Astonishing Words
Tongtong noticed Ye Yun’s sudden interest in Lingxiao City and pouted.
“With your current strength, even the gate guards of Lingxiao City are stronger than you!”
Ye Yun and Jun Ruolan exchanged glances. This little girl had mysteriously appeared in Thunder Falls Valley. If her claims about visiting Lingxiao City were true, it defied logic—super teleportation arrays were rare, and the Moon Goddess Palace’s hadn’t been used in a thousand years. How could a six-year-old know such things?
Even if she had been to Lingxiao City, how did she reach Thunder Falls Valley? Traveling from Lingxiao City to the Great Qin Empire in six years would be impossible, even with a hundredfold increase in cultivation.
Jun Ruolan suddenly paled, taking a half-step back as fear flickered in her eyes.
Ye Yun frowned, confused by her reaction.
“Could her body be possessed by an ancient soul?” Jun Ruolan muttered, staring at Tongtong. “An old monster hiding in a child’s form?”
Tongtong leaped up, cheeks red with anger. “You’re the one with a monster inside! No wonder you’re so ugly!”
Jun Ruolan’s gaze hardened. “You detected my pill-enhanced cultivation, mentioned the super teleportation array, and claim to have visited Lingxiao City. How does a child know all this?”
Tongtong stuck out her tongue. “I used the super teleportation array. You’re just clueless.”
Jun Ruolan scoffed. “The Moon Goddess Palace’s array hasn’t been activated for a millennium. How could you use it?”
Tongtong laughed, pointing mockingly. “Who said only the Moon Goddess Palace has one? Master spatial laws, and building a super teleportation array isn’t hard!”
Jun Ruolan froze. Having grown up in the Moon Goddess Palace, she knew the astronomical cost of such arrays—even Supreme Elders at the Earth Immortal realm couldn’t create one alone. If Tongtong spoke truth, the one behind her must be a being beyond the Immortal realm.
“Your so-called super arrays are just for this continent,” Tongtong added smugly. “Real ones can cross worlds in the Three Realms!”
Jun Ruolan fell silent, no longer daring to provoke the girl. If Tongtong’s backer was someone capable of rivaling the Moon Goddess Palace, even Jun Ruolan’s status couldn’t protect her.
Ye Yun’s mind raced. Tongtong’s eyes resembled those of the couple from his vision. If her stories were true, those two might be beings beyond the Earth Immortal realm—untroubled by golden-armored warriors that could erase the Eight Major Sects.
He studied Tongtong’s eyes. When calm, they turned emotionless and pure—exactly like the vision. A six-year-old in the Golden Core stage, with knowledge surpassing her age? Her origins were extraordinary.
“Where will you go after we leave Thunder Falls Valley?” Ye Yun asked softly.
Tongtong glared. “Wherever you go. I’ve seen you before—we’re connected.”
Ye Yun’s brow furrowed. If she recognized him from the vision, she might be linked to that couple. “Fine. Stay with me.” He patted her head.
Tongtong leaned into his touch like a contented kitten. “I’ll protect you.”
Ye Yun chuckled—a Golden Core stage child offering protection? “Deal. We’ll watch each other’s backs.”
She then whispered, “Later, let’s go to the Moon Goddess Palace and Lingxiao City.”
Ye Yun blinked. Had she truly used their array? He nodded without comment.
The group sat in silence until the sky trembled hours later. Beams of light converged overhead, tearing open the spatial passage once more.
