Chapter 811: The Power of Shui Lingling

"This is the sect leader’s decision to resolve matters quickly. In the past, the sect competition lasted at least a month with countless tasks. This time, he specifically instructed participating sects to send only one or two extraordinary geniuses," Elder Xing explained with a smile.

"Seems the sect leader lacks time for these affairs. Yet our human race’s situation on Lingyao Continent isn’t dire enough to warrant such urgency," Ye Yun mused aloud. Though evil spirits roamed and the Demon Race broke seals, surface-level issues remained few. If Shen Zhongyang appeared distracted, perhaps deeper troubles existed beyond their view.

"Future discussions can wait. Let this competition conclude first before we follow the sect leader’s orders," Elder Xing said, watching the youths spar with mixed concern and pride.

Ye Yun nodded absently, his interest waning. These competitors sought only fame and profit. Though this year’s event lacked its usual grandeur, it focused on true skill. Unless a Seventh Level Earth Immortal genius emerged, he saw no threat to himself.

His expression softened when Shui Lingling appeared, waving triumphantly from the battle platform. Her opponent, a Third Level Earth Immortal cultivator, exuded an indistinct aura. "Ancestor, what are Ling’er’s chances here?"

"Uncertain. If Ling’er’s an innate spiritual body, her foe’s a mixed cultivator. One misstep could cost victory," the Ancestor observed, frowning at the chaotic true qi emanating from the opponent.

First-rate sects rarely produced mixed cultivators – most resorted to multiple cultivation methods when lacking proper guidance. This woman reaching Third Level Earth Immortal through such disorder proved remarkable talent.

"Starling Palm!"

Shui Lingling struck first, star power coalescing into radiant palms that lit the platform. Ye Yun approved her timing – a direct hit would secure early advantage.

Instead of retreating, her frail-looking opponent advanced, summoning a Black Swarm that multiplied exponentially. Shui Lingling’s star palms disintegrated upon contact, the insects ballooning in size after devouring her energy. Forced to retreat as starlight, she left trails of shimmering particles.

Crackling consumption sounds echoed unnaturally. The Black Swarm pursued relentlessly, drawn to Shui Lingling’s potent spiritual energy – particularly valuable from an innate spiritual body. "I must end this before she activates star power," the opponent gritted her teeth, maneuvering insects to corner the darting starlight.

"Troublesome!" Shui Lingling shed her starlight form, face turning cold. Finding no weakness in the fifty-foot insect mass, she conjured celestial phenomena – a starry river materialized behind her, pushing back the buzzing swarm with its ethereal glow.

"You should feel honored to witness this." The Fifth Level of Starry Sky methods unfolded, replacing daylight with eternal nightscape. Countless stars stretched infinitely under vast cosmic radiance.

"Impressive linkage to stellar forces," Blood Yi remarked nearby, lounging against the Handsome Man. "But can she channel their full might?"

"Enough to challenge even me," Mo Wenxian admitted, approving Shui Lingling’s icy focus. Her demeanor mirrored Blood Yi’s duality – warm to allies, ruthless to foes.

"Show your final card now, or lose your chance," Shui Lingling declared coldly amidst swirling constellations.

"As you wish." Zixue Yan bit her tongue, spraying essence blood into the swarm. Shui Lingling watched warily as insects cannibalized themselves, feeding a crimson-armored Devouring True Spirit Worm that grew to Fifth Level Earth Immortal strength.

"Starfall Celestial Arts would fail here," Zixue Yan smirked. "This ancient devourer consumes all energy below its level – even Fire Spirit power."

"Annoying pest." Shui Lingling’s hair bled crimson, eyes crystallizing into blood gems. "But Ling’er prefers straightforward solutions."

"Divine Arts: Cleansing Technique!"

A blood lotus bloomed beneath her, petals dripping essence that froze Zixue Yan’s veins. Before reactions could form, a scarlet dagger pierced the cultivator’s chest. As fighting spirit drained from her opponent, Shui Lingling dissolved the second dagger into blood threads, reabsorbing them calmly.
