Chapter 813: Narrow Victory

"Such formidable ice spiritual power! To concentrate frost energy with such precision and bolster your weakest defenses… Brother Ye, your boldness matches your skill." Mo Wenxian remarked, his white supreme Immortal sword unable to pierce through the icy barrier. He stepped back while observing Ye Yun’s approaching superb-quality Immortal swords, using his own blade as a shield against the relentless assault.

"You truly dared ambush me! Such underhanded tactics…" Ye Yun controlled his Sword Path Domain to drain Mo Wenxian’s energy. Noticing his opponent’s divided focus, he relaxed slightly. "Once entangled in my domain, your strength will gradually fade." Yet when Ye Yun saw Mo Wenxian’s confident smile, his expression hardened. A chilling glow emanated from his palm as Mo Wenxian prepared another Nine Palaces Heavenly Art. A colossal ice hand materialized and smashed downward.

Seeing no attempt to dodge, Ye Yun intensified his attack. The Purple Shadow Divine Sword accompanied the icy strike, freezing air surging forward as phantom shadows danced across the shattered ground.

"Nine Palaces Forbidden Art: Heaven’s Restriction!"

Celestial Energy erupted from Mo Wenxian as Ye Yun closed in. Hurricane winds scattered hundreds of Immortal swords skyward. The white supreme Immortal sword blazed with destructive aura, cleaving through the ice hand before clashing violently with Ye Yun’s blade.

BOOM!

The cataclysmic collision echoed through Immortal Dao Sect. Spectators gaped at the heaven-shaking confrontation between two masters who comprehended cosmic laws beyond ordinary cultivators’ grasp. Even skeptical disciples stared wide-eyed – how could a First Level Earth Immortal display such Eighth Level prowess?

"Victory seems mine, Brother Ye." Mo Wenxian noted Ye Yun’s waning aura, though his own destructive energy weakened against the innate One Sword energy. Suddenly, thunderous power erupted from Ye Yun as a towering azure giant materialized behind him.

"Thundercloud Lightning Sword Fifth Level: Thunder God’s Descent!"

The spectral giant raised clasped hands skyward before unleashing a lightning-charged hammer blow. The battle platform disintegrated into dust as crackling energy engulfed everything. Peering into the smoking crater, Ye Yun called calmly, "You can come out now."

Mo Wenxian emerged in radiant light, brushing debris from his Immortal Garment. "Such ruthless hidden cards! Without this protection, I’d be gravely injured."

"Now we understand each other better." Ye Yun chuckled.

"I must train harder. At my cultivation level, you’d defeat me effortlessly." Mo Wenxian smiled, savoring this rare worthy rivalry.

"Don’t pretend this was your limit. That forbidden technique wasn’t your final move." Ye Yun pressed, though his narrow victory brought no arrogance.

"My last resort risks mutual destruction. In non-lethal combat, you’ve fairly won." Mo Wenxian admitted freely, unbothered by his first-ever defeat. Finding kindred spirits outweighed any loss.

As cheers erupted for Immortal Dao Sect’s victory, two elders exchanged grim glances. Ye Yun’s rising influence threatened their faction, yet public favor prevented direct action.

"You were amazing!" Shui Lingling leapt onto Ye Yun’s back as he returned to his seat.

"Mostly luck," he deflected.

"Nonsense! I always believed in you!" The girl beamed, craving praise for her own recent triumph.

"You’ve grown capable indeed." Ye Yun indulged her, watching her cheeks pinken.

Noticing Elder Xing nearby, Shui Lingling inquired about missing sect sister An Shuiyan.

"She’s grown beyond my oversight," the white-browed elder chuckled. "Besides, her Water Spirit Dragon companion provides ample protection."

"Protection? When she left last time, that spirit beast nearly froze your beard off!" The girl teased.

"I showed restraint!" Elder Xing huffed before mischievously adding, "Speaking of companions, have you considered-"

"Elder Xing!" Scarlet-faced, Shui Lingling vanished in a swirl of robes.

Watching the interaction, Ye Yun shook his head wryly before turning back to observe ongoing matches, unaware of Star Sword Sect’s Feng Xue Yi studying him with peculiar intensity.
