Chapter 403: There Must Be a Trick in the Half-Plane Channel

Although it is still unclear who is doing this and for what reason, Lolth already has an idea of what the other party is up to.

The person controlling these monsters is driving all the Superoperators to the core area of the half-plane channel.

"Tsk… where there are benefits, conspiracies will follow."

Lolth sighed, putting away some of her relaxed and carefree feelings.

Although her existence, along with Ling, Raven, and even Master Krado, might surprise this "puppet master."

But…

Since the other party can control epic monsters, it proves that their strength is definitely impressive.

Moreover, since they dare to do such a thing at this point on Wild Boar Mountain, the other side must be prepared to face at least multiple epic-level or even legendary-level enemies.

Furthermore, what the other side is doing is gathering all the "Superoperators" in one place.

After collecting the net, what should be done?

Of course, they should catch everything in the net… or get rid of it all.

Lolth knows very well that her leisurely journey might end here.

However, she is also prepared to encounter trouble.

After all, this is a "half-plane" and "ancient civilization ruins," a "dungeon" that only exists in legends.

The number of monsters is still increasing, as if not just Wild Boar Mountain but all the monster gathering areas around the Silver Citadel are being summoned.

The massive flow of monsters is destroying everything in its path like a natural disaster.

From the sky, you can easily see the strange behavior of the monsters on Wild Boar Mountain.

All the monsters, including those that escaped from the core area, are now moving toward the core area.

Their movement is not a straight line.

Instead, they are spiraling inward in circles.

Seven or eight different streams move around in circles at different speeds, either clockwise or counterclockwise.

Just as Lolth said…

This is like pulling in a net.

Not only her, but the other mercenaries also sensed that something was wrong.

"Damn it, who is controlling the monsters? I won’t play with you anymore!"

In the distance, a mercenary shouted angrily and charged into the tide of monsters.

However, his burst of magical power lasted only for a moment before fading away.

Along with his anger and roar, he vanished without a trace.

Perhaps he successfully killed a few monsters, Elite Level or Superlative Level…

But what does that matter?

These monsters are no longer independent beings.

In this situation, even if all the mercenaries united within this circle of monsters, they could not truly break through the barrier created by the monsters’ bodies.

Because… the controlled monsters are not afraid of death.

They are expendable.

For these mercenaries, their own lives do not matter.

Perhaps if everyone works together and fears nothing, after paying a huge price and sacrificing more than half of their number, some people can truly escape.

But who will be the sacrificial ones?

If they expect these mercenaries to have enough awareness, then Lolth’s morality class on Hillenbrand Town doesn’t need to last for two semesters!

Everyone has gradually, like Lolth, realized that something is wrong, and someone is consciously "driving" them away.

But everyone is powerless to stop it.

This is a carefully planned conspiracy; others are the tools while we are the prey.

They can only be pushed step by step by the monsters, struggling to move through the mountains and forests, climbing the steep and complicated terrain.

If they fall or lag behind, they will face the merciless trampling of the monsters.

Everyone was moving towards the back of Wild Boar Mountain.

As Lolth emerged from the woods and reached the barren ridge, she noticed…

There were even more Superoperators inside Wild Boar Mountain than she had imagined.

Not only were there some scattered fighters and lone wolf Superoperators, but there were also official teams led by the Silver Citadel’s steward.

Lolth even saw many advanced teams obviously made up of large mercenary groups and famous adventure bands, desperately fleeing.

Each team had lost members to some extent, and most of the "survivors" bore visible injuries.

It seemed that her own team’s members were the most intact.

Currently leading the way, Master Krado tied the hem of his wizard robe around his waist, and he wasn’t even out of breath.

The one lagging behind was actually Hood, who was riding something.

The big pangolin under him was not a fast creature, and now it was already tired and panting a little.

"How much longer?"

Hood, who was at the back of the line, asked, out of breath.

It was clear that he was riding a mount; it was strange why he was so tired.

"I don’t know; you have to see how long these creatures plan to chase us!"

Florence, who was second to last, was moving his short Hobbit legs as if they were on fire. He had thrown away his knight’s armor and was now wearing a simple white shirt and carrying a shield, looking like a refugee escaping.

So when he answered Hood, his tone was quite unfriendly.

"To be exact, we need to see when this ‘mastermind’ plans to give up… It seems he wants us to jump through the half-plane channel!"

Krado said, pretending to be calm.

But everyone knows that this is not an easy task.

Even though the goal of their small team is to collect any loose items in the core area of the half-plane channel, and if possible, to jump in and take a look.

However, being prepared to jump in willingly is completely different from being chased in while trying to escape!

But…

Fortunately, that kind of thing did not happen in the end!

After all the Superoperators were herded in circles by the "magical beasts" to the very center of the core area, everyone could feel that the half-plane channel was about a kilometer away from them…

Although the creatures did not stop, the encirclement was no longer closing in.

They were still running, but now they were just running in circles.

Standing on the bare rocks of the ridge, the Superoperators gradually realized this and stopped in their tracks.

Looking down, a ring of monsters was running, almost covering half of Wild Boar Mountain.

Along the way, trees lay fallen, dust flew up, and rocks flew everywhere, mixed with their own gear, the bodies of teammates, and many monsters that died at the hands of their own kind.

Everyone looked up with complicated feelings.

At the highest point of the ridge was a dark cave.

The intense magical energy inside clearly revealed that a half-plane portal was hidden within.

No one dared to approach the cave.

Yet, this was the purpose for most people coming here.

However, it was obvious that someone wanted them to hurry inside.

This would make the mercenaries think carefully.
