Chapter 456: Refining the Heavenly Eye

Though Fang Lie desired to annihilate East Kunlun, he hadn’t become irrational enough to bring calamity upon his own sect.

Bird Bro chuckled and scolded, "Where’s your mind wandering? As the Benevolence Token, guarding Mo Sect remains my primary duty. Would I recklessly make enemies for our sect?"

"Then what’s this opportunity you mentioned?" Fang Lie asked in surprise.

"Securing their natural Star Gold Element Core!" Bird Bro exclaimed. "Your Grand Five Elements Innate Nascent Fetus Scripture requires all five elemental cores. You only possess the Nirvana Fire core – East Kunlun likely holds the Star Gold variant!"

"Even if they do, they’d never surrender it willingly." Fang Lie frowned. "Our feud runs deeper than oceans. Only lunatics would hand over a Ninth-Rank Treasure-level item to their nemesis."

"Not an issue!" Bird Bro countered. "Use your Kunlun Sword Token to demand the Star Gold Core during the Righteous Sects Alliance gathering. Before all major righteous sects, East Kunlun must honor their reputation. However reluctantly, they’d have to comply or face eternal disgrace."

Fang Lie snorted. "They’ll simply claim not to possess it. We can’t ransack their premises!"

"Precisely why we wait!" Bird Bro’s eyes gleamed. "Crash into their Forbidden Area ‘accidentally’ during the summit. Expose the core’s existence before the entire alliance. When you produce the Sword Token afterward, they’ll be cornered with no excuses."

Fang Lie’s eyes brightened. "Caught red-handed before witnesses… They’d have no choice but compliance!"

"Exactly!" Bird Bro nodded. "The crux lies in locating their hidden core."

Fang Lie gave a mirthless laugh. "Such treasures get stashed in secret cave dwellings or Small Thousand Worlds, guarded by layers of Divine Pattern Restrictions and Formations. How should a mere Qi Sea cultivator penetrate defenses spanning thousands of miles?"

"Not yet – but after merging that Dao Pattern Heavenly Eye!" Bird Bro revealed. "Its power contains the Void Eyes talent. See through subspaces and void restrictions! Hidden Secret Realms become glass boxes before your gaze!"

Fang Lie’s breath quickened. "The heavens themselves aid East Kunlun’s downfall!"

The Void Eyes neutralized spatial concealments. Beyond revealing Small Thousand Worlds and subspaces, they exposed void restrictions – defensive arrays hidden in dimensional folds, undetectable even to Semi-Immortals.

While ordinary Divine Pattern Restrictions emitted faint Spiritual Energy traces, void restrictions demanded Fire Tribulation Immortal cultivation and rare materials to create. Only major sects deployed them, typically around vital locations.

With Void Eyes, Fang Lie could bypass such defenses effortlessly. Combined with his Heavenly and Earth Eyes’ scouting prowess, East Kunlun’s protections would crumble. Proper stealth tools might let him roam their territory freely.

Slapping his thigh, Fang Lie declared, "Bird Bro, we proceed! First installment of vengeance for my father!"

"Costly interest indeed!" Bird Bro cackled. "Fuse that eye now. I’ll craft an infiltration precious robe."

Fang Lie sped to his secret room. Sitting cross-legged, he extracted the Ghost Realm Sect’s Dao Pattern Heavenly Eye. Blood essence dripped as secret techniques chanted. Three days later, the eye dissolved into mist.

Guiding the vapor into his right eye socket brought searing numbness. Jaw clenched, he endured the merging agony.

But Fang Lie dared not be careless for even a moment. He kept cycling energy continuously, using magic to accelerate the fusion without any slack.

While Fang Lie performed the refining ritual for the Heavenly Eye, Mo Qianxun cheerfully retrieved a foot-long bronze mirror in his secret chamber. With a light tap, the mirror revealed a pudgy old monk.

Though standing under five feet with an unassuming frame and lacking any intimidating presence, this ordinary-looking monk radiated an air of profound wisdom and fearlessness – akin to a Buddhist Buddha’s reincarnation.

The Great Fool Abbot, Sect Leader of the Lotus Dharma Sect, grimaced upon seeing Mo Qianxun. "Why’s this old fox contacting me?"

"Ho ho, not pleased to hear from me?" Mo Qianxun smirked.

"You always outwit me," the abbot sighed. "This feels like a weasel’s New Year greeting to chickens. What ill wind brings you?"

"You could always disconnect," Mo Qianxun said casually. "But don’t come crying later."

"Amitābha. Blessing or calamity, speak your piece."

"Clever old coot!" Mo Qianxun grinned. "The Crossing Calamity Sutra."

The lethargic abbot suddenly erupted with mountainous intensity. "You’ve found it?"

"Currently held by Mo Sect disciples. Care to reclaim it?"

"State your terms. But first explain its provenance."

"Free information – stolen from Ghost Realm Sect’s vault. No bargaining though – it’s not mine."

"How’d your disciples obtain their treasures?" The abbot frowned. "Is this jest?"

"One peculiar disciple successfully raided their vault. Acquired Eighth-rank Treasures including your sutra and our Eight Steeds Carriage." Mo Qianxun flashed the carriage briefly.

The Semi-Immortal abbot instantly verified its authenticity, accepting ninety percent of the claim. Mo Qianxun’s status made blatant lies improbable, especially with physical proof.

"Show me the sutra," the abbot demanded.

"Beyond my control. The current owner won’t permit it."

"Who dares refuse Lotus Dharma Sect?"

"He considers you mortal enemies. Specifically, revenge for a father’s murder."

The abbot’s face fell. "Fang Lie has it?"

"Still sharp-minded! Poetic justice, wouldn’t you say?"

"My disciples merely followed orders then!" the abbot protested. "We shouldn’t be branded killers!"

"Accomplices then," Mo Qianxun countered coldly. "Yet you erased Fang Family contributions, stole credit, awarded your lackeys, and pressured me with other old fools. Deny this?"

The abbot’s face crimsoned, overcome with shame.
