Chapter 304
byChapter 304: The Emergence of the Treasure
Gong Xi flew swiftly, her face alight with excitement as she headed toward the mountain-like palace. Though she’d claimed there was no hurry earlier, she now darted through multiple layers of the area.
“What’s ahead?” You You asked. The towering light pillar had vanished, but a sharp, familiar energy pulsed in the distance.
“Ancient Sword Intent,” Gong Xi replied eagerly. “In the Sacred Realm’s deepest layer, near the Demon Hall, lies sword energy preserved since Ancient Times. It began evolving into Sword Intent millennia ago. This commotion means it’s finally emerged.” Her eyes glinted with determination.
“Ancient Sword Intent?” You You blinked. What use was that?
Noticing her confusion, Gong Xi explained, “The Sword Intent holds the legacy of ancient sword techniques. Obtaining it could grant us those skills and maybe even break through the sword energy guarding the Demon Hall.” She pointed at the distant palace.
You You squinted. “Can’t people usually enter there?”
“No. The Demon Hall houses the Demon King’s seal. Whoever enters becomes the Demon Realm’s ruler, but the hall is encircled by impenetrable sword energy.” Gong Xi frowned. “Only Long Ting of the Long Clan ever forced his way in—by sacrificing countless kin to become Demon King.”
Long Ting? The same villain who betrayed the Feng Clan? Typical tyrant.
“Ah You…” Gong Xi hesitated, slowing her sword. “Every city lord here will fight for the Sword Intent. You…”
_So she’s worried I’ll slow her down._ You You almost suggested splitting up when a sudden spark flashed in her mind—a signal from the Yin volume!
The sensation didn’t come from Gong Xi’s bracelet but from the Demon Hall itself.
“It’s too dangerous ahead,” Gong Xi said. “Wait here while I—”
“I’m coming!” You You grabbed her arm. The Yin volume was there—she _had_ to go.
Gong Xi froze, then flushed. Was… was she worried about _her_? Touched by her resolve, Gong Xi nodded. “Alright. Together!”
They sped toward the Demon Hall. Up close, the towering palace was veiled by a dense sword wall—countless swirling blades sealing it like an iron vault. Above hovered a golden sword, its aura syncing with the blades in an intricate, oddly familiar pattern.
“The Palace Lord arrives swiftly!” a male voice sneered.
Dozens of figures already crowded the area—including the three fruit-thieving city lords. Over a dozen Celestial Demon-level leaders glared, tension thick.
“You’re not slow either, Lord Chu,” Gong Xi shot back. “But unlike your empty boasts, I’ve the strength to claim the Sword Intent.”
“Enough chatter!” A bearded lord barked. “The Sword Intent belongs to whoever grabs it!” He lunged for the golden sword.
Chaos erupted. Spells and sword moves lit the sky as lords clashed. Each time someone neared the Sword Intent, rivals dragged them back. None could claim it.
You You retreated, watching Gong Xi deftly fend off multiple attackers while inching toward the prize. Reassured, she focused on the Yin volume’s pull—stronger now, radiating from beyond the sword wall.
But how to reach it?
A blast of Demonic Energy whizzed past her ear, scorching the ground. Three demons approached—the same ones who’d fought over fruits earlier.
“Useless pretty boy!” one spat. “Think you can steal our Opportunity? We’ll teach you your place!”
You You: “……”
_Pretty boy?_
Well, that’s a first.
