Chapter 75: The Second Magical Weapons Master Using Common Weapons

The sudden voice and cold laugh did not stop Lou Yun’s movements; he quickly untied the ropes binding the young man, then said to him, "Can you escape yourself?"

The young man lifted his pale face, glanced at Lou Yun, and sneered, "Escape? Why should I escape?"

As soon as the words fell, Lou Yun only felt a blur before his eyes. The young man had already darted past him with incredible speed, followed immediately by another agonized scream.

Lou Yun whirled around, shocked to discover the young man standing beside the burly man he had previously thrown to the ground, a cold sneer on his face. By now, the burly man was dead. The young man’s magical weapon – a strangely shaped long sword – had pierced straight into his dantian!

No one had expected the young man’s first act upon being freed would be to kill the man who had tortured him!

The crowd that had been watching from a distance, seeing that someone had actually died, let out a collective shriek and instantly scattered in all directions.

The voice sounded again: "Not bad! Quite capable after all! Bound for seven days and nights, without food or drink, having lost so much blood… yet you still possess such speed. Seems you’re no ordinary bandit!"

Lou Yun had also been stunned by the young man’s actions. Only now did he snap out of it and look towards the man named Huo Yong.

Huo Yong was clad in armor, his face fleshy with a brutal expression, fierce glints flashing in his eyes. He did not look like a good man at all!

Lou Yun asked expressionlessly, "Who are you?"

Huo Yong let out a loud laugh. The young man beside Lou Yun answered for him: "He’s the one who captured me! Also the City Lord of this town!"

Hearing his identity, Lou Yun inwardly cursed in dismay. They were escorting the Princess through Sanhe Nation to Cang Lan Nation! The relationship between Gu Feng Nation and Sanhe Nation had always been poor to begin with. That they hadn’t openly impeded them yet was already showing face. But now he was confronting Lord Huo Yong! If this reached the ears of the King of Sanhe Nation, they might not leave Sanhe Nation alive!

Thinking this, Lou Yun couldn’t help but glance at Han Tianxiao. He found Han Tianxiao blinking at him, then turning to shout loudly at the fifty guards and Fang Yue and the others: "Alright, the show’s over! Get inside the inn and rest! We have an early start tomorrow!"

After saying this, he walked into the inn first. By the look of it, he had no intention of getting involved in Lou Yun’s problem!

Of course, that wasn’t the truth. Lou Yun, being shrewd, immediately understood Han Tianxiao’s reasoning.

Naturally, Han Tianxiao also considered the consequences of offending Huo Yong. So, he deliberately pretended not to know Lou Yun or the Princess. That way, at least they could leave Sanhe Nation safely. As for what remained – the Princess’s safety – well, that would depend solely on what Lou Yun could manage.

With the concern about Sanhe Nation eased, Lou Yun had more options. Even if he killed Huo Yong, as long as he could get the Princess out of this town and find a safe spot to rendezvous with Han Tianxiao’s group later… once the Princess was safely back in the carriage, she would be secure.

Having thought things through, Lou Yun calmed down. Though the other man was the City Lord, his cultivation wasn’t exceedingly high – only intermediate four-star. Giving it a fight, his chances of winning were decent. Besides, he also had Xiao Huo and Fusang Fire. Of course, Lou Yun didn’t plan to rely on Xiao Huo or Fusang Fire to win unless absolutely necessary; that offered him little benefit.

Meanwhile, the young man pulled his magical weapon from the corpse and said to Lou Yun, "Thank you for saving me. Now, this is none of your affair. Take your friends and leave quickly. If I survive today, I will surely repay you for saving my life!"

After speaking, the young man strode boldly to stand facing Huo Yong. Clearly, he intended to hold off Huo Yong himself to allow Lou Yun and Wan Huier to escape!

Lou Yun had felt uneasy about the young man killing the burly man, but hearing these words now sparked a sliver of goodwill. At least the man wasn’t ungrateful!

However, seeing the young man’s legs trembling slightly, Lou Yun knew he stood no chance against Huo Yong.

Lou Yun glanced at Wan Huier, surprisingly finding her face utterly calm, showing no sign of fright. He felt a slight stir within; this Princess wasn’t ordinary either!

Lou Yun placed Xiao Huo into Wan Huier’s hands and said with a smile, "Sister, stand back a bit. After I deal with him, we’ll be back on the road!"

To conceal Wan Huier’s identity, Lou Yun didn’t dare use her name, referring to her simply as ‘sister’.

Wan Huier, understanding, nodded and said, "Big Brother, be careful!" Then she moved to a more distant spot.

Lou Yun walked over to the young man’s side, looked at him, and said, "Since I saved you, I can’t just watch you die. You step back too. Let me handle him."

The young man, however, was obstinate. A sharp gleam flickered in his eyes as he replied, "No need. Him killing me? Not that easy!"

Huo Yong suddenly erupted in loud laughter. "Enough! No need for courtesies here! Why don’t both of you just come at me together!"

Lou Yun couldn’t be bothered with more talk. He pushed off the ground, his entire body hurtling towards Huo Yong as he threw a powerful punch.

"Mid-tier moon-grade weapon technique, The Blast Fist: Sky Thunder Explosion!"

Huo Yong clearly did not expect Lou Yun to attack with a fist, but facing the electric aura wrapped around that fist, he dared not take it head-on and hastily dodged aside.

Lou Yun’s fist did not strike Huo Yong, but hitting the empty air still exploded into a burst of blue sparks, causing the surrounding air to tremble; Huo Yong thought this punch still held another change and quickly dodged again, retreating farther away.

Lou Yun missed with his punch, but without pausing on his feet, he gripped the Dream Emperor Sword in his left hand and actually unleashed a simultaneous attack with both fist and sword.

As this was within Sanhe Nation’s borders, Lou Yun knew that dragging things out would worsen the situation for himself and the Princess, so he needed to eliminate Huo Yong quickly and flee the city with her; thus, from the start, his assault was fierce and ruthless.

However, Huo Yong was after all a four-star intermediate magical weapons master, and his true strength was at least equal to Lou Yun’s; despite Lou Yun’s ferocious onslaught, Huo Yong managed to evade or block it safely every time.

Lou Yun grew increasingly urgent in the fight, while Huo Yong became more relaxed, but just then the young man who had been watching nearby suddenly roared, waving his peculiarly designed magical weapon sword to join the battle.

This sword was called peculiar because it resembled a tree branch, with three prongs sticking out from its blade.

When wielded, each prong emitted faintly shimmering sword energy, so although it was one sword, it effectively delivered four attacks at once.

With the young man joining in, Huo Yong’s initial advantage immediately vanished, and Lou Yun felt his pressure lessen drastically; however, he noticed the young man’s face growing paler—despite his skillfully executed sword techniques, their impact was weak, showing he was already at his limit and couldn’t last much longer!

Just as Lou Yun considered whether to throw Fusang Fire to disrupt Huo Yong, he suddenly saw the young man touch his own ankle, then jerk his arm.

A beam of light flashed, and Huo Yong let out a cry of pain, his body bending over as if injured.

This was a perfect opportunity; Lou Yun had no time to ponder what that light had been, so he pushed off the ground, leaped into the air, and released the Dream Emperor Sword from his hand, sending it straight towards the back of Huo Yong’s exposed neck as he bent forward!

With a swishing sound, the Dream Emperor Sword plunged through the back of Huo Yong’s neck and exited the front!

Huo Yong couldn’t even cry out now, his hands flailing wildly in the air, and the young man across seized this moment, thrusting his magical weapon sword into Huo Yong’s dantian.

At last, Huo Yong collapsed to the ground!

With a thud, the young man also sat down heavily on the ground, gasping for breath; though he was in bad shape, he wore a slight triumphant smile as he looked at Huo Yong’s lifeless body.

Lou Yun retrieved his magical weapon, flashed over to the young man, lifted his arm onto his own shoulder, and prepared to leave this place with him.

But the young man urgently spoke, "Wait!"

"Why wait? If we linger, we won’t get away!" Lou Yun exerted force to support the young man up.

The young man lacked even the strength to speak, merely pointing a trembling finger towards Huo Yong’s corpse.

Seeing this, Lou Yun flashed with realization, recalling that fleeting light; he quickly set the young man down and approached Huo Yong’s body—turning it over, he saw a dagger embedded in Huo Yong’s thigh, only its hilt visible.

A common weapon!

Lou Yun froze briefly; this dagger was clearly a common weapon!

Apart from himself, Lou Yun now encountered the second magical weapons master who used a common weapon.

Though puzzled, Lou Yun pulled the dagger out and handed it to the young man; the young man then slid it into his boot, evidently where he had hidden his common weapon, explaining why he had bent to touch his ankle earlier.

After stowing the dagger, the young man tilted his head and finally passed out; Lou Yun shook his head helplessly, hoisted the young man up, and said to Wan Huier who had approached, "Princess, let’s get away from here now!"

Wan Huier nodded, "Alright!"

So under cover of darkness, the three managed to leave the town gate; to prevent pursuit, Lou Yun ran about ten miles out before finding a grove of trees, where he took cover with Wan Huier inside.

Placing the young man against a large tree’s base, Lou Yun himself leaned against the tree, panting heavily; even after such an intense fight, he had carried someone this far, yet he was exhausted.

Wan Huier came over to sit next to Lou Yun, stroking the Xiao Huo creature in her arms, glanced at the still-unconscious young man, then at Lou Yun, and smiled, "I never realized you were so amazing!"

Lou Yun looked at this trouble magnet and shook his head, "If it weren’t for his help, I couldn’t have beaten Huo Yong; I’m not amazing—Princess, are you all right?"

"Of course I’m fine. Now, get some rest!" Wan Huier’s face broke into a mischievous grin, "That was really exciting! I hope every day of our journey is as thrilling!"

Lou Yun rolled his eyes, thinking silently that she spoke lightly as if it were nothing; if every day were that exciting, few of them would survive to reach Cang Lan Nation!

After resting briefly, Lou Yun regained some strength and went to check on the young man.

Though covered in injuries, they weren’t fatal—his collapse was due to extreme exhaustion—so Lou Yun took out some pills Xu Yangteng had given him from a ring, forced them into the young man’s mouth, and simply waited for him to wake.

About half an hour later, the young man groaned and slowly opened his eyes.

"Are you all right?" Lou Yun asked.

The young man instantly recalled what had happened before he passed out, propped himself up with his hands to sit, but didn’t answer, instead scanning his surroundings.

Lou Yun continued, "We’ve left that town; we’re in a forest about ten miles away now. It should be safe."

The young man then looked at Lou Yun, gradually stood, and said, "I will repay your saving my life, but I have unfinished business and can’t stay here. Farewell!"

Lou Yun sized him up, "In your state, where can you go? Better rest a bit more here until you recover."

Actually, Lou Yun wanted to talk with him, since this man used a common weapon as a magical weapons master, something he’d never encountered.

"No need; injuries like these won’t kill me." The young man shook his head, declining Lou Yun’s kindness.

After speaking, he turned to leave, but after a step, turned back to look at Lou Yun and Wan Huier, "By the way, I haven’t asked your names. I am Helian Xingye!"
