Chapter 167: Master Wu

After agreeing on the plan to go to Peace Villa, Xiao Ruoshui took Yun Yi straight to the Martial Arts Pavilion. The Martial Arts Pavilion of the Yanwu family was a small tower building with three floors, built on a solitary mountain peak. In front of the tower was a vast and flat area.

At that moment, with the bright sun shining down, an old man with a white beard in a gray robe lay comfortably on a rattan chair, holding a folding fan and fanning himself leisurely. The old man faced the sun, looking very content.

“Master Wu is so relaxed.”

When Xiao Ruoshui and Yun Yi approached the old man, Xiao Ruoshui smiled and said.

The old man then moved the fan aside and opened his eyes. Upon seeing Xiao Ruoshui, he quickly stood up from the rattan chair, trembling, looking very old and fragile, giving a sense of being weak and delicate.

“It turns out that the young lady has arrived.”

The old man coughed lightly twice and smiled as he spoke.

“Master Wu, I brought a disciple to the Martial Arts Pavilion to see if he can find a Battle Technique he wants.”

Xiao Ruoshui said, her words showing great respect for Master Wu.

“Good, good.”

Master Wu nodded and casually glanced at Yun Yi, but that casual glance suddenly brightened his originally murky eyes; that light, though brief, was clearly noticed by Yun Yi.

Yun Yi was secretly shocked, realizing that this seemingly frail old man had such a sharp gaze, as if he could see right through him; in that moment, his eyes were like the brightest stars in the sky.

Yun Yi, with his strong spiritual power and keen perception, could tell that Master Wu’s skill was at the first grade of the Lingyuan Realm.

At such an age, reaching this skill level had almost exhausted all his potential, meaning he could never improve further. For an old man like him, having a quiet job watching over the Martial Arts Pavilion in the Yanwu family was quite good.

But just now, when Master Wu looked at him, his gaze did not seem like that of someone from the Lingyuan Realm, making Yun Yi feel that this old man was probably not so simple.

However, after Yun Yi examined him closely, he could not find anything unusual; Master Wu simply appeared to be an old man in his twilight years.

“Yun Yi, you can spend the next three days in the Martial Arts Pavilion. After three days, we will set off together for Peace Villa.”

Xiao Ruoshui spoke up, “Master Wu is an elder of the Yanwu family. He has been around since the Yanwu family was first established in Xuanzhou State. He is the most senior, and even my father shows him great respect. Don’t cause trouble for Master Wu.”

Xiao Ruoshui took the time to introduce Master Wu to Yun Yi. Such an elder deserves respect regardless of his abilities, and according to Xiao Ruoshui, Master Wu is indeed the most senior member of the entire Yanwu family.

Yun Yi naturally did not dare to be careless; he understood the importance of respecting the old and loving the young. He immediately bowed slightly to Master Wu, saying, “Disciple Yun Yi, I greet you, Master Wu.”

“Hmm, you are a very good young man, with a Dark and Fire Dual Spirit Body. Your future is limitless.”

Master Wu nodded in praise.

Yun Yi was even more astonished; he hadn’t even released a single hint of spiritual power, yet this old man was able to see his Dual Spiritual Body at a glance. Such insight was not something an ordinary expert at the first grade of the Lingyuan Realm would possess.

You should know that when Xiao Liufeng first saw him in Yun Country, he made sure to show his spirit body, which meant that even with Xiao Liufeng’s fifth grade strength in the Lingyuan Realm, he could not tell the true nature of his spirit body at a glance.

“Young man, there is no need to be surprised. The old man has just lived a long time and has quite a good eye.”

Master Wu noticed Yun Yi’s surprise and smiled while explaining.

“Master Wu has extraordinary knowledge.”

Yun Yi said.

“Master Wu, please take Yun Yi inside.”

After Xiao Ruoshui finished speaking, she turned and left.

“Come on, young man.”

Master Wu bent over, trembling as he walked toward the tower. Yun Yi followed him closely, wanting to see what made this old man special, but in the end, he was still disappointed.

Or perhaps he was being too sensitive; maybe Master Wu was just older and had seen more, nothing more than that.

Creak!

Master Wu pushed open the door of the tower. Inside was not dark, but it wasn’t too bright either, giving a very comfortable feeling.

The walls were inlaid with Moonlight Stones, adding a soft glow to the entire tower.

Yun Yi couldn’t help but sigh; powerful families are different. Just these Moonlight Stones alone are extremely valuable. The Yanwu family used so many just to decorate the Martial Arts Pavilion.

Inside the tower, there were many shelves, each filled with Battle Techniques of different colors, organized very carefully by their attributes. Most were Five Elements Battle Techniques, while those outside the Five Elements were rare.

“The first and second floors have Innate Combat Skills, the third floor has Ling Level Battle Techniques. As for Yuan Level Battle Techniques, there aren’t any here. Dark Body Techniques are too rare, so there are no Dark Battle Techniques here. The Fire Attribute Battle Techniques are placed at the very back of the second floor; you can choose from those.”

Master Wu said.

“Thank you for the reminder, Master Wu. I’ll take a look.”

Yun Yi said, then went up to the second floor alone. In fact, he wasn’t very interested in this Martial Arts Pavilion. The fire attribute Battle Techniques here also did not excite him, as they were completely not on the same level as his Chaotic Element Fire Seal.

Yun Yi didn’t want to disappoint Xiao Ruoshui’s good intentions, and he also wanted to see what Battle Techniques were in the Yanwu family.

Yun Yi went up to the second floor and casually flipped through some fire attribute Battle Techniques. Just as he had thought at the beginning, these Battle Techniques were too ordinary to catch his interest. He then went to the third floor to look at some Ling Level Battle Techniques, but still found them uninteresting. In the end, he could only shake his head hopelessly, feeling that his visit here was simply a waste of time.

Master Wu observed everything, his smile unchanged. He didn’t think Yun Yi was impatient; instead, he became more interested in Yun Yi. It was worth noting that when other disciples came before, they would love to find a Battle Technique suitable for their attribute, feeling quite greedy like someone who was starving.

Yun Yi’s performance clearly showed that he did not think highly of the Battle Techniques here. In Master Wu’s view, a genius with a Dark and Fire Dual Spirit Body should indeed have higher standards.

Half an hour later, Yun Yi wandered through the entire Martial Arts Pavilion, feeling it was all rather dull. Finally, he came down with a disappointed expression.

“Master Wu, I’m sorry, but I didn’t find any Battle Technique I liked. It seems this trip was for nothing.”

Yun Yi said with a smile.

“Young man, don’t set your sights too high. Keep searching; you might find something suitable for you.”

Master Wu said.

“Liking something is the most important; if you don’t like it, it will be boring to have.”

Yun Yi shook his head.
