Chapter 32
byAlthough he had not yet cultivated to the point of giving birth to divine sense, Yang Kai could still clearly feel the existence of that drop of Yang Liquid in his dantian. When his mind reached it, the Yang Liquid would be at his disposal.
The Yang Liquid could be used in battle, but Yang Kai had not tried it yet. Exactly how it would change had to wait for an opportunity to temper in actual combat. These experiences were not something that the Nameless Black Book could impart.
Although he had endured many days of hardship, now that a drop of Yang Liquid had been condensed, Yang Kai immediately felt completely satisfied. With a hint of excitement, Yang Kai redoubled his efforts and cultivated by the side of the Trapped Dragon Stream for most of the night.
When he woke up in the second half of the night, Yang Kai did not continue.
These days, he had been cultivating so obsessively that although he had become much stronger, it had also brought a lot of burden to his body. In the path of cultivation, one had to alternate between relaxation and tension, and have a proper rhythm, so as not to lay any hidden dangers.
Standing up and patting his buttocks, Yang Kai returned to his small wooden house with light footsteps.
The door of the wooden house was ajar, which made Yang Kai a littlefeel uncertain (puzzled), because he remembered that he had closed the door before leaving.
Walking forward and gently pushing the door open, Yang Kai took a look inside, and the scene that came into view suddenly made him stop in his tracks. That scene seemed to have been tracings from a scroll, as illusory as a dream, and so unrealistic.
In his small wooden house, on the only small bed, there was actually a person sleeping, a woman.
The moonlight poured down through several holes in the roof and shone directly on the woman lying on the wooden bed. By the moonlight, Yang Kai saw that the woman’s hands were folded and placed on her flat lower abdomen. Her tall chest rose and fell slightly with her steady breathing. Under the glow of the moonlight the skin on the woman’s neck was as crystal clear as ice and snow. Her long black hair was spread out smoothly and lay on her seemingly delicate shoulders. Her delicate earlobes exuded a different kind of temptation.
Because of the lying position, the woman’s long and beautiful legs, slender waist and plump buttocks, and wonderful figure were vividly displayed in Yang Kai’s eyes. The face could not be seen clearly because her face was covered with a veil as thin as a cicada’s wing. But on her smooth forehead there was a blue gem dotted. This only piece of jewelry was not precious, but it just right highlighted her coldness and holiness.
The hazy moonlight made her have a kind of dense beauty.
She was like a fairy who had been banished from the Moon Palace. There was no flaw on her body, and every part of her exuded a holy nobility. She just lay there quietly, as if she would never wake up. Somehow, Yang Kai felt a pain in his heart when he looked at her.
Yang Kai asked himself that he was not a sentimental person, but today, this poetic and picturesque scene deeply touched him. Even if time passes and decades apart, this scene is probably never forgotten.
As if possessed, Yang Kai walked over gently, suppressing his breathing and heartbeat, for fear of disturbing her.
Coming to the bedside, about one zhang away, Yang Kai carefully looked at her and found that it was indeed as he guessed. This woman was actually the senior sister who almost bumped into him at the Contribution Hall that day. When he saw this veil just now, he has a vague guess (had some faint guesses).
It’s just that at that time, she didn’t have such an unattainable and inviolable sacredness, but only timidity and shyness, purity and cuteness. Looking up at the holes in the roof, Yang Kai chuckled. These holes that have not been repaired for a long time have actually done a good deed today.
This soft laugh couldn’t help but startle Xia Ning shang who was lying on the bed. When Yang Kai lowered his head again he discovered (surprisingly found) that this senior sister was staring at him with wide eyes.
In those bright big eyes, there was first some confusion and anger, and then it turned shy. Almost in the blink of an eye, Xia Ning shang’s small earlobes turned red again.
Fortunately, it was night. Although there was moonlight, Yang Kai couldn’t see it so clearly, which saved Xia Ning dress from a little embarrassment.
The two just stared at each other, one on the bed and the other under the bed.
Yang Kai was full of doubts, while Xia Ning skirt wished she could slap herself unconscious. Her heart was in a tangle. She never expected that she would be so muddle-headed and careless as to fall asleep here.
“Cough cough…” Yang Kai coughed lightly, trying to make himself look kinder, and asked, “What’s the name of this senior sister?”
I don’t know if it was because of the emotional ups and downs or something else, but the voice when Yang Kai asked this question seemed rather ethereal. In the middle of the night, in the environment of a lonely man and a widow in the same room, it sounded a bit off.
That sentence seemed to be asked like this: “What’s the name of this little lady?”
It had a full-bodied flavor of a libertine.
Xia Ning’s face was as red as blood, but she still sat up from the bed with dignity, reached out and stroked her hair and said softly, “My surname is Xia…”
Xia Ning dress didn’t have the nerve to report her own name. She really felt too ashamed today.
“So it’s Senior Sister Xia. Did Senior Sister Xia come to see me for something?”
If there was nothing wrong, how could this fairy-like person condescend to come to his shabby little wooden house?
Hearing Yang Kai’s question, Xia Ningchang remembered her purpose. She hurriedly took out a package from her side, and her emotions also calmed down. She said, “This afternoon, a hunter from under Black Wind Mountain came to look for you. But he waited until it was time to light the lamps and you still didn’t come back. I saw that he was in a hurry to go back, so I went to ask him. The hunter said to thank you for saving his life and asked me to hand this package to you, saying that he would come to thank you in person when he has time in the future.”
Hearing her say this, Yang Kai immediately knew who that person was.
Hunter Zhang Shan! The last time he went into Black Wind Mountain to collect herbs and came back, he had saved his father and son.
Yang Kai reached out and took the package, nodded and said, “So that’s it.”
Xia Ningchang raised her eyes and quietly looked at him a few times, and then said, “I received the entrustment of others, so I waited here for you to come back. Unexpectedly, while waiting, I…”
While waiting, I fell asleep… This sentence is really embarrassed to say it out loud. There is really a sense of frustration of entrusting the wrong person. And I even slept on someone else’s bed.
Yang Kai already understood what happened today. He laughed and said, “Thank you, Senior Sister, for your trouble. Next time, Junior Brother will definitely come back earlier.”
Xia Ningchang didn’t know if it was her illusion or the other party did it on purpose. Anyway, this sentence didn’t sound right no matter how she heard it, as if it was a husband’s guarantee to his wife before going out.
Biting her lip gently, Xia Ningchang said with some dissatisfaction, “Whether you come back early or not has nothing to do with me. The package has been delivered to you, and I’m leaving.”
After saying that, with a twist of her waist and a stamp of her foot, her figure disappeared, leaving only a wisp of fragrant wind lingering in the room and on the tip of someone’s nose.
This Senior Sister Xia is really quite shy.
Remembering the scene just now, Yang Kai felt a warm feeling. Coming back to his senses, he opened the package left by Zhang Shan and found two sets of cyan long gowns inside.
These long gowns were sewn stitch by stitch. The stitches were dense and the workmanship was very fine. Yang Kai estimated that they were made by Zhang Shan’s wife.
Zhang Shan has a heart! During the last battle with the Flower-Backed Spider, his clothes were cut to pieces by that monster. Exactly because of this reason, he would bring two sets of clothes for him today.
Yang Kai smiled slightly, put the things away, and then lay down on the bed.
That night, Yang Kai slept soundly.
