Chapter 120: A Life Full of Spoilers

When Ning Rui heard the sect master’s words, overwhelming panic gripped him, his heartbeat momentarily stopping.

Perhaps it was because he’d finally joined a safe immortal sect in this life that he’d let his guard down. The secret he’d guarded through lifetimes – something even his sharpest previous enemies never noticed – had been casually exposed!

He’d imagined various scenarios if his secret got out. People might accuse him of body possession, suspect future-seeing abilities, or mistake him for a deity in disguise.

Yet the sect master skipped all reasonable guesses and went straight to the truth. Why not consider normal possibilities first? How could she hit the bullseye so effortlessly?

Reincarnation – reliving past events – sounded too absurd for ordinary people to believe.

Even Yuan Qi looked stunned. He’d noticed Ning Rui’s odd behavior since the Disciple Selection, but since the youth showed no malicious intent and excelled in cultivation without possession signs, he’d dismissed it.

But… multiple reincarnations? Did such miracles truly exist?

Only You You remained calm. Having crossed worlds herself, meeting a reincarnated person seemed perfectly normal.

"How does your reincarnation work? From your words, this isn’t your first rebirth?" She crouched to his eye level. "If you’re willing, could you share your past life experiences?"

"…"

This was it.

Ning Rui’s chest tightened with rising despair. While his endless rebirths were torment, they also offered unparalleled advantages – accumulating lifetimes of knowledge, evading dangers, seizing opportunities early. It resembled immortality itself.

If not for that inescapable catastrophe, he might have welcomed this curse.

What cultivator wouldn’t covet such power? They pursued cultivation precisely for eternal life. Even without controlling rebirths, foreseeing futures could optimize one’s path. No sect leader would ignore this. The moment his secret leaked, he expected interrogation, soul-searching rituals, or forced rebirth experiments.

At best, he’d simply die and restart.

Yet frustratingly, even he didn’t know his rebirth mechanism! The more he thought, the bleaker his prospects seemed. He’d hoped to avoid the Heavenly Tribulation this time, but might not even survive to face it.

"Forget it." The sigh snapped him from despair. "No need to force explanations if uncomfortable."

"Eh?!" That’s all?

Ning Rui gaped at You You, certain he’d misheard. "Sect Master… don’t you want future knowledge?"

"Curiosity exists," she shrugged, "but we’ll learn the future when it comes. Knowing everything in advance ruins life’s surprises."

"But…" His voice shook with disbelief, "Aren’t you curious about my rebirth method? How I achieved this multiple times?"

"Oh right," she obliged, "How did you reincarnate?"

Ning Rui lowered his eyes. "I… truly don’t know."

"Then why offer to explain?" She blinked innocently.

"…" Her flawless logic left him speechless.

"Enough kneeling." She hauled him up. "Keep your rebirth secret. Whatever comes, I won’t have other disciples affected." Cultivation required facing unknowns – predetermined futures would destroy motivation.

"Just… that’s all?" He’d braced for torture, not… dismissal.

"What else?" Recalling his earlier fervor, she added, "Ah yes – stop attacking Nie Zheng. Whatever he did before, his current self hasn’t earned death." At least let him repay debts first.

Ning Rui glanced between You You’s stern face and Master Yuan’s approving nod, mind whirling.

"Dismissed." She waved him off.

He bowed mechanically, stumbling out in a daze. Cool hallway air cleared his fogged mind as he reached the exit. Suddenly pivoting, he marched back resolutely.

"Sect Master, while I don’t understand my rebirths… For you, I’ll disclose everything about the future." If anyone could prevent the coming catastrophe, it was this unconventional leader who’d saved the Immortal Realm against impossible odds before.

"Changed your mind?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Yes!" He nodded fiercely, burning bridges. "Ask anything."

"Promise full honesty?"

"I swear!"

"Good." She leaned forward intently. "Tell me the most crucial thing – which pills and talismans will dominate the market in coming years?" The sect needed profitable products.

Yuan Qi: "…"

Ning Rui: "…"

What fresh madness was this?!
