Chapter 130: The Egg-Shaped Treasure

The Grievous Spirit Forest was perilous because it formed from concentrated resentment. Every plant there was tainted by this energy, allowing endless regeneration as long as resentment lingered. Complete eradication proved impossible—only sealing worked.

But none of that mattered… if you destroyed the whole forest!

Little Flame had always been obedient, but You You never expected its rage could match Feng Rong’s—even surpassing it. By the time she snapped back to reality, the forest had become a Scorched Earth wasteland pocked with craters. Did this mean they truly shared the same soul?

Wu Yue hacked trees too. Though lacking Little Flame’s all-consuming fire, her celestial maiden status granted her many treasures. Smashing one tree per treasure still decimated half the forest.

You You became the sole idle teammate. Not that she didn’t want to help, but the duo moved too fast in their fury for her to stop them.

She hadn’t known Little Flame could summon its true form at will. After confirming it only expended energy without harm, she urged it back into the egg. Exhausted, Little Flame still nuzzled her face, its red light healing her small wound before retreating.

"Let me see!" Wu Yue cupped You You’s face, inspecting it thoroughly. "Thank goodness it’s healed," she sighed in relief. "Don’t scare me like that again!"

"……" Are you worried about me or just my face?

You You eyed the Scorched Earth and the massive phoenix egg. Now, how to transport Feng Rong back?

"Is this a new fire guardian beast?" Wu Yue asked. Since Little Flame couldn’t speak, she’d assumed You You controlled it through spellcasting.

"Sort of?" You You eyed her guardian beasts bag. Could it fit Feng Rong? Little Flame and Qiu Zhang had squeezed in before. Surely he’d understand once awake… hopefully.

As she reached for the egg, a shocked voice rang out: "Little Sister! Why are here?"

A dozen robed cultivators descended, led by a familiar-faced man. Handsome but for his shrewd eyes, he resembled Wu Yue.

"Big Brother…" Wu Yue’s expression darkened.

The group bowed to her. "Greetings, sect master!"

Wu Yue frowned deeper as the man—her brother Wu Qi—marched over without courtesy. "Running off alone! Do you know how worried we were?"

"I needed air!"

"Xuan Guang Sect has plenty of space! Outsiders are dangerous—" He glared at You You. "Who’s this?"

"You You. Zhen Yan Sect."

His disdain vanished. "Celestial maiden! I’m Wu Family’s Wu Qi. An honor!" He’d missed her Cheng Tian Pavilion appearance but knew her reputation.

"Mn."

"Exploring the Secret Realm together? How fortunate!" His gaze locked on the egg. "Your treasure from this trip?"

Wu Yue cut in, "It’s her guardian beast!"

"Don’t be modest, Little Sister." Wu Qi eyed the egg greedily. They’d come investigating the fiery disturbance, recognizing the egg’s immense power—at least eighth grade, maybe holy beast tier. With Wu Yue present, claiming it became feasible.

"Since it’s shared, splitting it’s fair," he insisted. "You already have a guardian beast. Let Xuan Guang Sect take this egg. We’ll pay three thousand spirit stones."

"Big Brother!" Wu Yue protested. "It’s hers!"

"Unclaimed eggs appear outside. Owned ones stay in spiritual energy-rich areas." He smirked at You You. "A sect master wouldn’t lie, right?"

You You almost laughed. Even for the Wu Family, this audacity stunned her. Robbery disguised as diplomacy.

"You want this egg?" Her voice turned icy.

"Shared finds mean shared rights!"

"Wrong." She scoffed. "You’re unworthy." My Little Fire Chicken deserves better!
