Chapter 153: The Feeling of Having a Leader Protecting You

“I’m fine, just suddenly remembered some things,” Su Wen took a deep breath and communicated telepathically.

“As long as you know your limits,” the God of Theater said, his eyelids twitching. Did he just recall something else?

And his reaction was so strong?

It seemed that the future of Huaxia really was very dangerous!

Perhaps the power held by the Arrow Realm exceeded his current expectations by many times.

It looked like some arrangements needed to be made early.

“Honorable leaders, next, we will relay the information about the God of Wealth’s funeral to all fate teams,” the middle-aged soldier continued. “Tomorrow, the fate teams that receive the information should all come to participate.”

“After all… it is the God of Wealth’s funeral.”

Meanwhile, at the headquarters of the fate bearers of Huaxia.

“Captain, do you mean that if I want to advance to king level in the future, I need the permission of the God of Wealth?” Wealth Spirit asked in astonishment at the Black Leaf Team gathering place.

Across from him, the team leader of Black Leaf, an Eighth Level fate bearer, the musician, chuckled softly, “That’s correct.”

“But you don’t need to be nervous; your occupation is Wealth Spirit, so don’t you have a path of advancement?”

“Generally, as long as you don’t commit crimes, the nation should not make things difficult for you, and might even open up convenient doors.”

“After all, we’re all on the same side!”

At this point, the musician paused and sighed, “To be honest, I envy fate bearers like you who have leaders.”

“On one hand, you have a strong support right from the start. If anything happens, you can go to your leader, and depending on their mood, they might directly help you solve the problem.”

“On the other hand, your path of advancement is very clear. As long as you have ample experience and the required treasures, with a nod from your leader, you’ll advance.”

“But for someone like me, without a leader or support, it’s quite tragic.”

“Although under the current circumstances, we fate bearers do not need our leader’s approval to advance to king level as long as we have the appropriate treasures ready.”

“Our advancement, however, comes with a failure rate; the higher you go, the higher the failure rate.

“In particular, I’ve heard that the failure rate for advancing to king level is a bit outrageous. Depending on the mastery of one’s powers, the minimum seems to be at least fifty percent.”

“So, you’re very lucky, especially since you’ve also spoken with your leader, and your leader has a good impression of you; that makes you even more fortunate.”

“When will our Huaxia ever see a God of Musicians?”

“The treasures needed for advancing to king level are really very precious!”

“Collecting all of them at once can take several years, even over a decade. If I fail and have to start over, I might just despair.”

Wealth Spirit listened from the side, feeling a bit pleased in his heart.

So this is what it feels like to have a leader protecting you; it’s so delightful!

Others might fail when they advance, but he doesn’t have to worry about that.

As long as the boss gives the nod, he’s guaranteed to succeed.

Especially when he sees the captain’s pitiful expression, it makes him feel even more satisfied.

But since the captain is his leader and he plans to stick around with the Black Leaf Team for a while, he has to hold back and definitely can’t laugh.

If he laughs out loud, things could take a serious turn.

“If you want to laugh, just laugh!” the musician said, waving his hand. “No need to hold it in; keeping laughter bottled up for too long isn’t good for your health.”

“I once had a team member whose role was Star Pivot.”

“That girl was quite lively, and when I told her these things, she burst out laughing before I even finished.”

“You’re stronger than her; at least you’re still holding it in.”

“She had the Star God backing her, and you have the God of Wealth backing you. You both have powerful allies!”

Wealth Spirit took a deep breath and suppressed the urge to laugh.

No matter what, the musician is an Eighth Level fate bearer, and he’s only at Fifth Rank.

If the musician decides to hit him, there’s no way he could fight back.

As for the example the musician gave?

The captain is a man, while that Star Pivot is a girl.

Given that the other person is a young lady, the captain might let it slide, but that doesn’t mean he’d be so lenient with Wealth Spirit.

If he laughs, the captain might just slap him hard.

Since joining the Black Leaf Team, he’s been on an exploration to the Arrow Realm with the captain.

The captain’s style of action isn’t exactly that of a gentle soul!

“Tsk!”

After a moment, the musician clicked his tongue and said, “You actually didn’t laugh? That’s a bit surprising.”

“I was going to—”

The musician stopped mid-sentence, his expression suddenly shifting.

The next moment, the bracelet on his right hand trembled slightly and began to flash with a crimson light.

Wealth Spirit immediately shut his mouth at the sight.

He vaguely remembers the bracelet on the captain’s hand.

The crimson light flashing!

That means something major has happened!

Could there be some unforeseen disaster in the Arrow Realm?

“In five minutes, everyone gather in room 204!”

The musician gave Wealth Spirit a complicated look, then called all members of the Black Leaf Team in the most serious tone.

“Brother, my condolences!”

After patting Wealth Spirit on the shoulder, the musician sighed and left the room.

Wealth Spirit: “???”

What’s going on?

What happened?

Why did the captain suddenly say that to him?

Is the phrase “my condolences” something you can just throw around like that?

For a moment, Wealth Spirit stood frozen in place, completely baffled.

Then, snapping out of it, he hurried toward room 204.

He just had to know what was going on!

Did the crimson alert on the captain’s bracelet have something to do with him?

But everyone’s here—how could it possibly involve him?

And his hometown?

He knew better than that. Even if his entire family were gone, it wouldn’t be enough to trigger a crimson alert.

“Once everyone’s here, I’ll explain,” the musician said gently, looking at Wealth Spirit.

Wealth Spirit: “……”

The captain’s tone was so soft.

But paired with what he’d said earlier, the kindness only made Wealth Spirit more uneasy.

Still, since the captain wanted to wait until everyone arrived, he couldn’t push for answers now.

It’s just a few minutes—he could wait.

But for some reason, those five minutes, which usually flew by, now felt like an eternity.

“Creak!”

When the Fate Bearer Warrior entered the room, he made a point to walk over to Wealth Spirit and give his shoulder a light pat.

“My condolences!”

With that, the warrior took his seat.

Wealth Spirit: “???”

What the hell?

Does everyone know about this?

And he’s the only one in the dark?

Soon, the entire Black Leaf Team had gathered.

Out of the seven members, including Captain Musician, three had offered their condolences to Wealth Spirit.

The rest walked in looking just as confused as he was.

Clearly, they had no clue what was going on either.

“Alright, now that everyone’s here, I’ll explain,” the musician said, his tone serious.

“We just received word from the center. One of our fate bearers with the character ‘God,’ the God of Wealth, has fallen in the Arrow Realm of Magic City No. 09.”

“Tomorrow at 9 AM, the nation will hold a state funeral for the God of Wealth.”

“My suggestion is, unless you have something urgent, it’s best if we all attend.”

“What do you all think?”

The room fell dead silent the moment he finished speaking.

In that instant, every head turned in unison, their gazes fixed on Wealth Spirit, filled with a mix of emotions.
