Chapter 179: This Upgrade Was a Bit Awkward

Bubble World "Bismuth."

Actually, this world wasn’t originally called "Bismuth," but "Canaan."

It changed its name because it was invaded.

But the invader wasn’t the Chaos Demon God.

The Chaos Demon God didn’t have the habit of renaming the Bubble World he conquered; after all, who names a cooked duck on the table?

Only humans or other smart species might do that.

But smart species aren’t always kind or peaceful.

They could even be…

Bandits!

"Quick!"

"Gather all the people in this area!"

"Your land is now taken by our Trinitum Clan!"

A humanoid creature in "Psycho-Energy Armor" yelled loudly, swinging a magic whip to herd a group of ragged people aside.

"Be honored!"

"Thump… Thump… Thump…"

Mechanical creaks and heavy footsteps echoed.

A big humanoid mech over three meters tall broadcast the voice.

The Trinitum Clan was a strict society with ranks, and each class could only have set weapons; this three-meter-tall medium construct was called the "Hata" class by the Trinitum Clan.

"Hata" means "banner."

This meant the construct was a "standard-bearer" in a group; someone riding it had to be a grassroots Commander leading a thousand under a lower noble.

The Commander inside the construct was the one doing the plan.

"Be honored!"

"Your land will be taken to grow Emperor Wood Solar Trees for making endless energy and precious psycho materials!"

"As for you people…"

"Ka——!"

"Ka——!"

The sound of loading magic guns echoed.

"Those who attacked and killed our people, step forward!"

"You must die!"

"Or else, everyone here dies!"

The troubling situation that concerned the lower noble had come to pass.

The Trinitum Clan conquered Canaan with the help of the great "Primordial Gods" and implemented "purification" on the lowly people they scornfully called "wooden." The rebellious and defiant Canaanites were slaughtered in large numbers.

It was said their population had decreased by at least three-quarters!

The remaining submissive ones would labor until death, giving their all to build the so-called "pure land of righteousness!"

Soon, this world would be filled with "primordial energy" from the “primordial trees,” and the status of his family would soar alongside the prosperity of this new colony!

But now, an unexpected incident occurred.

A strange force that completely restrained "primordial power" emerged nearby; this was a very unsettling sign, and it was accompanied by the complete annihilation of a squad of about fifty soldiers.

Their headless corpses were pitifully discarded on the ground, their skulls piled into a small "mound."

From the traces around, it seemed someone had performed an evil ritual here, worshiping an unknown and terrifying evil god!

Without a doubt, these fellows had to be enemies of the "Primordial Great Gods!"

They absolutely could not be spared!

If not, not only would the "Primordial Great Gods" not forgive him, but his own family would also suffer the consequences!

With this thought, the lower noble made up his mind to be even harsher.

“Boom—— Boom—— Boom——!”

The tall construct took a few steps forward, its cannon aimed ahead.

The crowd panicked and parted.

Like a flock of livestock.

“Ha…”

The lower noble sneered, mocking the cowardice of these conquered people.

However, he soon noticed a very eye-catching fellow.

It was a beautiful and tall woman.

She wore black tight leather pants, a cape draped behind her, and form-fitting armor covered her voluptuous upper body, accentuating her curves beautifully.

But what stood out the most was the very tall wide-brimmed hat she wore.

Although she also had some weapons, they seemed decorative, like a delicate sword and a similar magic handgun.

With such a small caliber, they might be okay for hunting rabbits.

But to rely on them to defeat a construct…

Or even defeat infantry in powered armor…

Better not.

Unlike the groveling "Bismuthians" who had suffered, she radiated an air of dignity and unapproachability!

This was the first time the lower noble had seen such a beautiful woman.

Of course, this also meant that she must hold a high status among these "Bismuthians!"

“If I could ‘humiliate’ her a bit, the rest would surely obey!”

"Heh, what a fine figure."

"Gonna have some fun… huh?"

The lower noble snapped out of his fantasy with a startled cry.

The woman moved abruptly.

Her figure seemed to "flash"—vanishing from her original spot.

When the lower noble glimpsed her again, her slender leg had already slammed onto the cockpit glass!

And then…

"CRUNCH—CRACK—!"

That long, shapely leg appeared crafted solely for beauty, seemingly lacking strength. Yet under her high heels, the cockpit’s "primordial glass" actually fractured!

Now, the lower noble finally saw the eyes of this beautiful woman.

She loomed above him, her lovely face twisted into a ferocious snarl.

Her beautiful Double Eyes held not hatred, but the predatory gaze of a lioness spotting prey!

"Kill! Kill her!"

"Now!"

The lower noble screamed.

But…

"BOOM—BOOM—!"

"BANG—!"

"THUD… THUD… THUD…"

Gunfire and the pounding of iron boots suddenly erupted all around.

Then…

"Ah!"

"We’re done for!"

"What is that?! Monsters! Tin-can monsters!"

From the corner of his eye, the lower noble saw towering warriors burst forth—shrouded in camouflage cloaks, encased in armor as thick as iron cans.

They charged fearlessly and ferociously, wielding magic greatswords, arcane axes, and explosive guns!

Though Trinitum Clan soldiers wore heavy "primordial energy-assisted constructs," they seemed pitifully flimsy compared to those iron behemoths!

"Shoot!"

"Open fire!"

Trinitum soldiers fired back in panic. Their tactics were sound, yet utterly futile against these giants.

The terrifying armored warriors charged straight through the hail of bullets!

Bullets driven by "primordial energy" merely scraped lightly across their armor!

“Thud! Thud! Thud!”

The terrifying "canned ones" charged closer, their menacing helmets now pressed against faces.

“Ah—!”

A scream tore through the air.

The lower noble commander witnessed a soldier being ripped apart by one towering can!

The soldier’s head was wrenched off.

The fearsome armored warrior lifted the severed head high, bellowing: “Blood sacrifice for the Giant God! Offerings to the divine throne!”

“Kill—!”

The Trinitum Clan Warriors, unskilled in close combat, instantly broke ranks.

Meanwhile…

“Whoosh—!”

Standing atop her cockpit, the beautiful woman raised her shapely leg once more.

She stomped down violently!

“Crack—!”

Glass exploded!

“Click—!”

A loaded pistol pressed against her forehead.

“Yes!”

“Blood sacrifice for the Giant God! Offerings to the divine throne!”

But at that instant, the woman’s expression froze.

Simultaneously, the lower noble raised a small signal transmitter, laughing triumphantly.

“Hahaha!”

“You’re finished!”

“The Molybdenum Fleet lurking nearby is coming!”

—-

“Wow…”

“The earnings are amazing!”

“Fantastic!”

Trilobite discovered the book "Thirty-Six Stratagems" had actually been rented out!

And the earnings were substantial indeed.

【You successfully rented out "Thirty-Six Stratagems", receiving 20,000 in rent; this long-term rental lasts three months (by your time clock)】

“Not bad, not bad!”

"Moreover, after consuming Magic Power and selling magnetic field characteristics…"

"Wow! My spawn really came through this time!"

It wasn’t until Trilobite looked that he got a shock!

After spending all his Chaos Energy, he rented out "Thirty-Six Stratagems," used points from his followers, and sold the magnetic field characteristic maps of Themis and Valaharl. Surprisingly, his Chaos Energy shot up to over 35,000 points!

"Very good, now let’s speed up the evolution!"

Trilobite clicked on the evolution interface and selected a component.

【You purchased the "Pelvic Connection Upgrade DLC (Standing Position)" for 30,000 points of Chaos Energy!】

"Now I can…"

Moments later…

"Oh my god, this is awkward."

Trilobite took a short nap and observed his newly grown "pelvis" and hind legs.

He realized he’d made a silly mistake…

"Upgrading the hind legs for a ‘standing position’ left the front legs untouched…"

"With only the hind legs able to stand, the front legs still had to lie down."

"Worse yet, I was now top-heavy and unsteady, unable to walk upright."

"My walking posture now…"

"Looked a bit like a polar bear sliding on ice…"

If Trilobite were on land, his walk would seem odd, with his front legs low and hind legs high, almost like he was wiggling his rear as he moved…

That posture was utterly ridiculous.

But even though his stance looked awkward, at least his hind legs were stronger than before, and his movement efficiency improved a lot.

"So the top priority is still…"

"To gather more Chaos Energy and upgrade my front legs too!"

"But where can I find Chaos Energy?"

Just as Trilobite wondered…

"Hm?"

His Olfactory Membranes and Lorentz Jar, inherited from cartilaginous fish, proved handy again!

"Wait, this smell… it seems to be my Symbiotic Creature No. 2, the Spiny Shark sister!?"

"Followed by that group of little spiny fish spawn?"

"And…"

"Food!?"
