Chapter 191: Tales of the Cretaceous Period

“Burp——!”

Trilobite let out a satisfied belch.

He had eaten every single fish that foolishly swam into the fishing net traps—dozens of them, not one left.

“Hm, I didn’t really count.”

“Who counts every grain while eating?”

“All in all, probably over a hundred smaller ‘multi-finned fish’; about ten big lungfish?”

“Simply put, I was stuffed!”

These "ancient multi-finned fish" were smaller than their modern relatives, only "thirty centimeters" long—about the size of small crucian carp in lakes and ponds today, each weighing around 100g.

But with over a hundred, it was quite heavy.

Trilobite now believed his Length was "2 meters." The Gasmarosaurus looked like a crocodile, and a two-meter crocodile usually weighed about 30kg; so he thought he weighed “30kg.”

Just the weight of these "ancient multi-finned fish" was heavier than his own.

And those ten lungfish were even heavier!

“Over a meter long!? The big ones were one and a half meters!?”

“They must have weighed ten to twenty kilograms each, right?”

“How much did I eat…?”

At that moment, Trilobite felt something was off; he had eaten nearly ten times his weight in one meal!

Of course, he quickly accepted it.

“Anyway, the system is amazing!”

“Oh right, I can’t forget my little darlings.”

As the bigger, dominant one in the “symbiotic creature” deal, Trilobite left ten “multi-finned fish” and one lungfish for his spawn. He even spat out the fish bones and handed them over.

He watched his "farmed" trilobite creatures patiently cut the flesh and blood of the "prey," wrap it in layers of silk, and carefully carry it away.

“Nice, using tools is great!”

“And you don’t need hands for tools; teamwork between species works too!”

Trilobite remembered a sci-fi novel he’d read before—“Tales of the Cretaceous Period.”

The author was the famous comrade from “Niangziguan Electric Plant”; it had dinosaurs and ants working together to build a super-advanced civilization.

The dinosaurs focused on big ideas and creations, while the ants handled the tiny stuff.

Though the story ended badly, it was really cool and gave Trilobite lots of ideas.

“Maybe I should try this fun path.”

“After all, this ‘evolution STEAM’ system is so handy.”

“That way, I won’t get stuck in old habits.”

Since he’d come here with such an awesome cheat, he couldn’t waste it—exploring a new path was the best way to honor such a powerful system!

“Alright!”

“Then let’s get started!”

Trilobite looked at the 150,000 points of Chaos Energy he had gathered from a hundred “multi-finned fish” and ten “lungfish,” and he chose without hesitation…

“It’s you!”

“One time!”

“All of it!”

“Grow larger!”

Even though Trilobite had decided to follow the dinosaurs’ path in “Tales of the Cretaceous Period,” he needed to become a top predator like them.

In every sci-fi story, any creature that could develop a civilization had to stand at the top of the food chain!

Don’t think ancient apes were weak; after they learned to use fire and stone tools, big cats and dogs couldn’t compete, and hominins soon ruled the world.

So, when Trilobite’s biological clock ticked for twenty minutes…

“Haah…”

He slowly woke up from sleep again.

Because he had eaten a lot and had plenty of energy, he didn’t sleep long this time.

“Very good.”

“I grew larger!”

He looked at his body contentedly.

This body had grown from its original “1.9 meters” to an amazing “2.2 meters.”

Even better, the body had become rounder; it didn’t look like a “little fellow” like the Yangtze crocodile or the Caiman crocodile anymore.

In sturdiness, it was a bit like the dense river crocodile.

Trilobite could crawl out grandly now!

Of course, his gains didn’t stop there—he found a new feature of the System!

Or, it was a feature that had been there but he never found…

It was a special menu hidden in the corner.

Inside was a row of avatars.

There were four total, three bright and one gray.

Trilobite knew the bright avatars.

They were “the blonde Trilobite Mantis young lady,” “the red-haired Spiny Shark young lady,” and “the white-haired jumping spider young lady.”

And there was another with light yellow hair and brown skin, “young lady.”

“Oh? This is interesting.”

“Is this like a Pokédex for pets?”

“The bright ones were those I had met and ‘captured.’”

“Does the gray one mean that I have encountered it but have not captured it?”

“Or is it about the relationship between unlocked and locked CG?”

“This is interesting.”

“Great, let’s set off right away to collect the paper young lady!”

So…

“Boom—Boom—Boom—!”

Trilobite kept moving his massive body, slowly advancing and digging!

Following behind him were thousands of “worker Trilobite bugs” and larger, heavily armed “soldier Trilobite bugs.”

In fact, Trilobite’s net path was dug ahead of time and set to ambush those “lungfish” and “multi-finned fish,” right in the middle of the tunnel.

Soon, Trilobite…

“Splash—!”

“Yo!”

“Not bad!”

“He arrived at a new lake!”

“Customer service young lady!”

“Come out and serve the customers!”

“Don’t be so shy…”

Trilobite shouted for a while but got no response.

However, he was not discouraged.

Because…

“Sniff… sniff…”

A nice smell filled Trilobite’s nostrils.

This was no ordinary scent!

In the air, the smell of freedom… no, a buffet aroma spread!

And in the system vision, the whole lake area was surprisingly red!

—-

“Are those guys out of their minds?”

“Why is there still no news coming back!?”

As the employer of the “etheric worm” and “etheric serpent,” and the one who paid a huge amount of shards of divine rank, Mr. Blais, the Thirteenth Seat of the Chaos Council, was very anxious.

“I clearly got a lot of information from that Lady Xidi!”

“She likes to hide in the Primal Mud with her spawn, just like those nasty bugs, getting by in the ‘City of Dimensions.’”

“But with her big body, even if she prefers to stay in the sludge, she absolutely can’t escape the etheric serpents and etheric worms I sent!”

"Even if that so-called ‘Giant God’ really beat those useless mercenaries, there should have been some news coming back…"

"What on earth happened?!"

Countless thoughts rose in Mr. Blais’s mind, but he pushed them down one after another.

"That doesn’t make sense…"

He thought of every possible idea, but none was the right answer.

"Do I have to go down and see for myself?"

"Damn it!"

Blais’s divine body wasn’t good for digging, so he kept spending a lot to hire etheric serpents to desperately search in the Primal Mud and dig a tunnel.

He used magic to hold up that tunnel.

But just as Blais and his hired etheric serpents dug into the "Crystal Walls," which were tightly "stuck" together by unknown threads and had already become "regulated"…

"Lord Blais!"

An Outer God from the Void buzzed over, flapping its wings.

Seeing this, Blais felt bad right away.

"What happened?"

The Outer God hesitated, circling once before telling the truth.

"That…

"There was a huge vibration in the ‘Bubble World’ Triton!"

"I’m afraid there’s an invasion!"

Blais nearly rolled his eyes and fainted.

The "Bubble World" Triton wasn’t just the home of the Triton Empire, which worshipped him as the "Great Primordial Deity," but also held the fantasy tree young shoots he had carefully raised, ready to be ruined from within!

And the only thing that could break through the Crystal Walls and invade there was…

"Damn it!"

"Giant God!"

"You’re using that trick on me!"

"I…"

Blais looked at the Primal Mud stuck to his divine body and then at the etheric serpents eyeing him suspiciously, as if afraid he wouldn’t pay. Blais almost passed out from anger.

But now, more than ever, he couldn’t lose his cool.

"Phew…"

"I have strong defenses in the ‘Bubble World’ Triton, and subordinate officials are stationed there!"

"From what I know, even if they can’t win, they should hold out until I get back, right?!"

Yet just then.

"Oh ho ho ho…"

The enchanting voice rang out again.

"Blais, oh Blais."

"With your heavy body, you can’t rush back to the ‘Bubble World’ Triton."

"But if you ask nicely now, my sister can still help you."
