Chapter 193: These poor fish will suffocate to death, it would be better to…

"Set sail! Set sail!"

The port bustled with activity as numerous battleships hurriedly departed.

Though the Great Primordial Deity—the Chaos Council’s Fourteenth Seat, Mr. Blais—had deployed most of the Triton Empire’s main forces to the Bubble World to ambush the Giant evil god,

this didn’t leave the Triton Empire defenseless.

Here stood not only the royal guard fleet protecting Emperor Wood Solar Trees,

but also the Azure Emperor, the Great Primordial Deity’s First Subordinate and a chaos deity guarding this land.

Its status differed from other chaos deities.

Rumors claimed the Azure Emperor’s power nearly rivaled the Great Primordial Deity’s; had fate favored It, It could have secured a rear position or even joined the core forces.

The royal guard fleet itself was no easy foe.

Their hulls, forged from fragments of divine bodies, possessed such might that even smaller etheric serpents paled in comparison.

As imperial guardians, their armaments surpassed others’.

Beyond standard artillery, they bore close-combat sharp teeth.

These formidable ships never strayed from Triton Empire’s territory, patrolling Bubble World’s seas to proclaim imperial might before Deuterium Clan civilians and Protium Clan slaves!

Such duty left the royal guard fleet feeling underused, breeding discontent among officers and crew.

Equipped with elite weapons and rigorous training, yet confined to homeland while inferior expedition fleets expanded the empire’s borders—

this stifling reality frustrated the fleet’s warriors.

But relief was near!

"We hunt deities today!"

"What glory awaits us!"

"The waves are high and the sky is clear! Everyone shall fight fiercely, staking seven lives to repay the Great Primordial Deity and mighty Azure Emperor!"

Captains rallied their crews with fiery speeches.

As the impassioned words faded…

“Hail!”

“Hail!”

“Hail the Great Primordial Deity!”

“Hail the mighty Azure Emperor!”

Cheers thundered across the wilderness, unaware of emotionless eyes watching them from beneath the port’s waters.

Countless Trilobite-shaped warships encircled a colossal form.

Below them lay silently eliminated fish-shaped warning submarines!

—-

“Mmm.”

“This might be…”

Trilobite observed the "fish" swimming slowly at the water’s edge through his calcite compound eyes, which had poor resolution but could roughly distinguish shapes.

These fish held no novelty.

He’d seen them before.

"Well, Madageria fish again."

"Though these fish seem to have extra tiny dorsal fins that are useless."

"Hmm, must be a different subspecies."

"But why are all these creatures gathered near the surface?"

"Why are only a few small fish at the lake’s bottom?"

Trilobite scratched his chin with his claws, pondering.

Suddenly, he recalled the tangled plant roots he’d encountered earlier.

"Got it!"

"The plants must’ve multiplied wildly, sucking up all the water nutrients and starving the water body of oxygen!"

"Hmph, pretty sure there’s a massive vascular bundle plant on that island in the lake’s center."

"Later I’ll tear it down—doing my bit to keep the world’s oxygen and carbon balanced!"

As a kind-hearted soul, Trilobite pitied these oxygen-starved "fish." They seemed so miserable, suffering terribly!

"They’ll suffocate!"

"This can’t continue."

"Better to…"

"Eat them all raw while they’re still alive and fresh!"

The benevolent Trilobite decided ending these Madageria fishes’ suffering through his own digestion would grant them absolute peace.

"Anyway…"

"Hope subspecies differences don’t affect the meaty texture or flavor."

Even among regular pigs—not subspecies—flavor varied wildly based on fat content.

"Ah! Never mind that!"

"I’m eating every last one!"

Having vowed to dominate the food chain, Trilobite needed to gather Chaos Energy fast.

Dozens of fish, big and small, glowed uniformly red in his system vision.

Texture and taste?

Secondary concerns.

"Three… two… one…"

"Charge——!"

“Boom——!”

The massive caudal fin (yes, that’s right, Trilobite still had his caudal fin; he was a Gasmarosaurus with one) suddenly swung as his “2.2 meter” long body lunged upward, diving straight for the Madageria fish!

—-

At the same time Trilobite lay hidden, watching the school of fish, an unprecedented large gladiatorial event was about to start near the Emperor Wood Solar Trees!

“Dear guests and kin!”

“Friends from afar!”

A man who looked like a priest, wearing a tall hat and a loose robe, stood on a high platform.

His outfit was very strange…

He had shaved off his eyebrows, painted his teeth black, made his face pale, and had oddly put-on blush.

This look wasn’t like the usual beauty standards—at least not for Trilobite—but it got cheers from the nobles of the Triton Empire.

He was the noble called the “High Priest” in the Triton Empire.

Only a “noble with a surname” could take this job, doing things like praying to the Great Primordial Deity and offering sacrifices.

He also led festivals and big events like the gladiatorial games.

Even though his duties were holy, some in the crowd thought he talked too much.

“Start the gladiatorial fight now!”

“I can’t wait!”

“Let the bloody battles begin!”

But the High Priest stayed calm; he opened his arms, welcomed the cheers, and soothed the excited nobles.

After a long time, when the cheers died down, he suddenly waved his hand toward the arena’s center.

“Buzz——!”

With the sound of gears turning, a blood-red, huge jade shaped like a “stone coffin” slowly rose from the gladiatorial arena’s bottom.

It shone under the dim, chaotic light!

“Look!”

“May the Great Primordial Deity bless us!”

“He has given us the best gift for the celebration!”

“Nothing is better than this ‘blood-red jade’ to make the gladiatorial contest shine!”

“We believe this priceless treasure will bring more glory to the ‘Great Primordial Deity’ and to ‘His Majesty the Azure Emperor’!”

When this beautiful jade showed up before the Trinitum Clan, everyone was amazed by the red stone’s beauty.

Soon, the crowd burst into loud shouts again.

“Well, no more talking!”

“Enjoy the bloody feast!”

“Now, let the gladiators come out!”

The bloody gladiatorial contest was about to begin.

The gladiators took their positions.

Tens of thousands of gladiators wearing red and blue uniforms formed loose squares.

When the whistle sounded, they would charge toward the enemy and engage in fierce battles!

“Is this really our fate?”

“To become the playthings of these ugly people, helplessly sent to the gladiatorial arena to tear each other apart for amusement?”

Most of the gladiators looked at the opposing formation with expressions of pain and despair.

To add excitement to the fun, the Trinitum Clan even deliberately placed friends, brothers, and couples in separate camps.

What they wanted was this kind of slaughter.

As for the gladiators not complying…

“Impossible!”

“The curse on our souls granted by the Great Primordial Deity is invincible!”

“As soon as the curse activated, these people would tear at each other like rabid dogs!”

“Then…”

The man resembling a High Priest brought a bone whistle to his lips, ready to blow.

Soon, the sharp sound of the whistle would trigger the curses deep within the souls of all the gladiators, putting them into a state of rage.

But just at that moment…

“Zhi…”

The “red jade” in the center of the gladiatorial arena suddenly trembled, and a crack appeared!

Then…

“Zhi—Zhi—!”

The crack widened!

Finally…

“Boom—!”

The entire red jade exploded violently!

Debris swept across the arena!
