Chapter 205: Mysterious Water Dragon

"Heh, if I didn’t have something decent, I wouldn’t dare embarrass myself before the future Benevolence Token Lord!" Chi Hanshui declared confidently.

"Oh?" Fang Lie narrowed his eyes and asked warily, "What treasure have you prepared?"

"This might catch your discerning eye," Chi Hanshui replied with a grin, producing a three-inch-long jade sword of exquisite craftsmanship.

The moment the blade appeared, the surrounding crowd erupted. "A Kunlun Sword Token!"

"Have the Chi family lost their minds? Even this heirloom gets displayed?"

"Not madness—ambition! They’re clearly scheming to swindle Fang Lie out of some precious artifact!"

"What could that penniless Qi Sea realm brat possibly own to match a Kunlun Sword Token? That thing’s worth rivals a Ninth-Rank High-Grade treasure!"

Overhearing the chatter, Fang Lie finally recognized the item and stiffened in shock.

The Kunlun Sword Token held immense significance. Not a conventional treasure, it served as a Token issued by East Kunlun of the Tao Sect—granted only to those who rendered extraordinary service to their sect. Though usable just once, it could command East Kunlun’s full might to fulfill any demand.

East Kunlun, leader of the Tao Sect, surpassed even the Mo Sect in influence. While the Token couldn’t incite wars between super sects, it could summon over a dozen Thunder Tribulation Immortals wielding Ninth-Rank treasures to annihilate a mid-tier sect overnight.

In essence, it functioned as a single-use Ninth-Rank High-Grade treasure. Such relics rarely left East Kunlun’s vaults—perhaps once every ten millennia. This particular Token had been fortuitously obtained by the Chi family’s ancestor.

Since East Kunlun honored Tokens over individuals, this artifact had become the Chi family’s ultimate safeguard, never lightly revealed. Yet here it lay, wagered in a trivial duel—proof of their grand designs.

Cold realization dawning, Fang Lie spat, "To stake the Kunlun Sword Token… How generous! Yet you know my holdings—I’ve nothing comparable to offer."

"Ah, but you’re mistaken," Chi Hanshui countered smoothly. "The Blood God Puppet would suffice. Its worth nearly matches ours."

Fang Lie’s eyes flashed with understanding—they coveted the Ancient Heroic Souls. Once Ninth-Rank Puppets, their combat strength dwarfed even Thunder Tribulation Immortals’. Restored, they’d indeed rival the Token’s value.

But currently languishing at Fourth-Rank, the puppets remained inferior. Clearly, the Chi family had learned of Fang Lie’s blood essence collection—they meant to restore the relics by coercing Cultivators into donations.

Ranked among the Eight-Hundred-Generation Families’ top thirty, the Chi clan boasted two Fire Tribulation Immortals and millennia of accumulated wealth. With such resources, they could bribe countless Cultivators for essence blood. Even failure now wouldn’t deter them—future generations would complete the task. A restored Ninth-Rank Puppet could propel them into the top ten families, yielding profits far surpassing any blood essence expenditure.

Yet all hinged on victory—a outcome Fang Lie deemed impossible.

"Very well," Fang Lie smirked. "Since you desire my Blood God Puppet, I’ll stake it!"

"Unacceptable," Chi Hanshui tutted. "Our Token’s value far exceeds yours. You must add another condition—else the scales tip unfairly."

"What more do you want?" Fang Lie’s eyes narrowed to slits. "If it’s abandoning my sworn brother, save your breath!"

"Oh dear, how regrettable!" Chi Hanshui sneered coldly. "That’s precisely our demand. You must expel him from your household and sever all ties with him."

As he spoke, he cast a contemptuous glance at Ice Second Brother below the platform.

Ice Second Brother’s fists trembled as he bit his lip until blood seeped out.

Mao Mao hastily intervened, "Second Brother, don’t fear! Brother would never abandon you!"

"Exactly!" Fang Huo added reassuringly, "Big Brother isn’t that sort!"

"I know," Ice Second Brother declared with unwavering resolve. "I’ve always trusted Big Brother!"

Their faith proved justified. Fang Lie stated flatly, "We duel now or you leave. I’ll never cast out Second Brother – he’s my sworn brother!"

"So you insist on opposing the Chi family?" Chi Hanshui’s lips curled mockingly. "A foolish choice."

"You threaten me?" Fang Lie barked a laugh. "Among Mo Sect’s Eight-Hundred-Generation Families, who haven’t I crossed? The Bai clan outshines yours tenfold, yet I slaughtered their prized heir. What makes you think you matter?"

"Enough!" Chi Hanshui flushed crimson. "Since you’re determined to lose, let the wager stand! This time, I’ll thoroughly educate you!"

He flicked the Kunlun Sword Token onto a dedicated altar at the life-and-death platform’s edge. Though Fang Lie hadn’t brought the Ancient Heroic Soul, public scrutiny ensured he couldn’t renege if defeated.

The crowd erupted as combat loomed.

"Bets open! Chi Hanshui pays one to one-point-five! Fang Lie at one to three!"

"Chi Hanshui – one hundred thousand spirit stones!"

"Chi Hanshui – two hundred thousand!"

"Three hundred thousand on Chi Hanshui!"

Most rushed to back Chi Hanshui, dismissing the Qi Sea realm Fang Lie.

The Ice and Fire Poison Dragon quartet countered fiercely. Pooling all resources – third-tier magical items included – each staked five million spirit stones on Fang Lie. Their display of wealth – high-grade treasures and mountains of spirit stones surpassing even senior Golden Pool realm cultivators – drew envious stares. All knew these luxuries came from Fang Lie’s patronage, further cementing his reputation.

As betting continued, Chi Hanshui leisurely summoned a twenty-zhang-long water serpent. The crystalline Mysterious Water Dragon coiled with lifelike grace, drawing gasps.

"Fifth-rank top-grade beast puppet!" someone cried. "No wonder they risked their clan treasure!"

"How can some Qi Sea brat defeat this? I’m doubling my bet!"

Fang Lie hid his unease. The dragon’s Xuan Water body weighed like a mountain – mere contact could shatter Golden Pool bones. Its water Dao magics rivaled Nascent Soul True Immortals, and wounds merely reformed. Few dared face this indestructible horror.

Feigning nonchalance, Fang Lie roared, "Burn! Rage!"

Flames engulfed him, swirling into a magic tornado.

Chi Hanshui narrowed his eyes. "Show me your pathetic attempt!"

Fang Lie’s fingers flashed to his brow then jabbed outward. "The Great Unity Spell!"

A glowing butterfly darted from his forehead, piercing Chi Hanshui’s fifth-rank Divine Light shield effortlessly.

Chi Hanshui palmed his unmarked forehead. "What sorcery is this?" he demanded, voice tight.
