Chapter 209: Troubled Leaders

In a Secret Realm of the Mo Sect, the furious Clan Leader Mo Qianxun summoned the Thunder Tribulation Immortals once more.

The gathered Higher-ups glared at the Head of the Bai Family, who squirmed like he sat on needles.

"Old Bai," mocked one Thunder Tribulation Immortal, "are you insane? First you gifted Fang Lie a Blood God Puppet after your family’s humiliation, then rewarded him with a Left Dao treasure after he killed your grandson? What’s next—adopting him as your father?"

"Even my own son wouldn’t get a Ninth-Rank Puppet embryo!" another sneered. "Such treasures are fit for ancestors, not enemies!"

"I didn’t know!" the Bai Family Head roared.

"Enough," Mo Qianxun cut in. "The Great Unity Spell can’t remain with a Qi Sea realm Cultivator. The Sect must reclaim it."

Mo Qianxun’s gut twisted. This divine skill could’ve doubled the Mo Sect’s strength—every member gaining demon beast servants stronger than themselves. Its value rivaled a Ninth-Rank Treasure. Yet they’d let it slip to Fang Lie as a reward while they’d watched, hoping to see the Bai Family humiliate him. Instead, they’d handed him glory.

Now they reaped their karma.

Regret choked the chamber. Mo Qianxun longed to slap himself—his scheming had cost the Sect dearly.

"Claim it was a mistake," one suggested. "Offer other rewards."

"He’s shielded by the Benevolence Token," another countered. "We can’t force him."

"Appeal to reason. The Fang Family honors righteousness."

Mo Qianxun sighed. "Before sending him to die in Wanxing Sea? After cheating him with trash rewards? Even clay dolls revolt. That boy loathes us now."

Silence fell.

"What if we trade an Eighth-Rank Treasure?"

"Foolish!" someone snapped. "His Blood God Puppet could reach Ninth-Rank with that spell. Why trade future might for temporary gain?"

When desperation thickened, Mo Qianxun muttered, "Abandon the plan. The spell remains accessible—any who donate blood essence can learn it."

"But Thunder Tribulation Immortals need centuries to restore that essence!" the Bai Family Head protested.

"Use Healing Spirit Pills," Mo Qianxun said. "Though rare, they’d shorten it to two years." He paused, eyes narrowing. "Wait—Fang Lie’s Alchemy Skill produces those pills effortlessly. This was his scheme all along! He repairs his puppet while profiting from our need!"

The Bai Family Head gaped. "That brat planned this?!"

"It seems that’s the case. The Fang Family might be single-minded, but that doesn’t mean they’re stupid!" Mo Qianxun shook his head helplessly with a bitter smile. "We’ve all underestimated that youngster. If we interfere and nourish the Blood God Puppet with Thunder Tribulation Immortal’s blood essence, that thing could restore itself to Eighth-rank within ten years and reach Ninth-rank in a Hundred Years at most!"

"Damnation, that brat’s too sharp!" the Head of the Bai Family growled. "No! Everyone, we mustn’t let him benefit from this!"

"I don’t care what you decide! I’m going! I want to capture a ten-thousand-year Great Demon to guard my estate!"

"Same here. Doubling our combat power for free? Why not? If you won’t go, I will!"

"Let’s all go together. After learning the Great Unity Spell, we’ll cooperate to hunt Great Demons. Within a few years, we’ll each get decent mounts and guardians!"

After speaking, the Thunder Tribulation Immortals bowed to Mo Qianxun and departed. Unable to stop them, Mo Qianxun watched them leave with a wry smile while the remaining members continued their discussion.

Soon, a Sword Ray flew into Mo Qianxun’s hand – a Flying Sword sending messages from the departed group. Upon reading it, Mo Qianxun spat out his tea.

Everyone stared in shock, thinking: ‘What’s wrong with the Clan Leader? He hasn’t acted like this in millennia!’

Unable to contain himself, the Head of the Bai Family demanded, "Clan Leader, what happened?"

Mo Qianxun regarded him with pity. "You really don’t want to know."

The Bai leader frowned. "Out with it! I’ve weathered every storm!"

"Very well." Mo Qianxun coughed. "When they went to worship the Ancient Heroic Soul, they found a sign at the shrine: ‘Bai family members and dogs prohibited from entering!’"

"Fang Lie!!" The Bai leader leapt up, bellowing, "I’ll never coexist with you!!"

Other Thunder Tribulation Immortals exchanged sympathetic glances. The Bai family’s reputation was ruined, and they’d lost the opportunity to learn the combat-doubling Great Unity Spell. While others grew stronger, the Bai family would decline in resources and influence, risking expulsion from the great family clans.

As the Bai leader raged, another sword beam arrived. Mo Qianxun read it using divine sense, then cursed: "The audacity! They’re targeting the Mo family too!"

The crowd gasped. Why would Fang Lie trouble the low-profile Mo family? The Bai leader asked: "Are we barred too?"

"We’re allowed…" Mo Qianxun seethed, "…if we pay tenfold tributes for the Great Unity Spell! This is outrageous!"

A Thunder Tribulation Immortal ventured: "Who offended him?"

Mo Qianxun sighed silently. He remembered – Fang Lie had cured a Mo family Talent, only to be slapped afterward. Mo Wanfang mocked him instead of apologizing, prompting Fang Lie’s declaration: any Mo family requests would cost ten times more.

Mo Wanfang had laughed then, but now the entire Mo Sect had to beg Fang Lie. The clan leader tasted bitterness – this humiliation could make the Mo family history’s joke. He kept silent, bearing the shame alone.
