Chapter 216: Killing and Robbing Treasures

Fang Lie knew fighting Nascent Soul True Immortals would be difficult. Even if he killed one, he’d perish too. By the time he revived, others would’ve stolen his spoils of war.

Low-tier shops offered meager profits, unworthy of his effort. Smashing dozens wouldn’t make Four Seas Alliance blink.

Thus, Fang Lie targeted middle-tier shops.

Though Four Seas Alliance operated thousands of shops, most were small. Only two to three hundred qualified as middle-tier—each holding treasures worth billions in low-grade spirit stones. Raiding one equaled ten low-tier shops. A dozen hits would wound even Four Seas Alliance.

Coincidentally, Black Fang Island—his destination—housed one such middle-tier shop. Perfect for starting his revenge.

Resolved, Fang Lie stored his sea map and rested.

Spanning thousands of miles, Black Fang Island dwarfed Qingyu Island. Governed by a Nascent Soul True Immortal family for generations, it belonged to Xiaoyao Alliance. The island’s ruler ignored outsiders unless provoked.

At the island’s edge lay a town of two thousand, mostly Cultivators. Over a hundred shops clustered there, including Four Seas Zhai.

One day, a one-eyed youth with golden wings entered town. He wandered the main street until spotting Four Seas Zhai’s four-wave emblem—symbolizing Four Seas Alliance’s four brothers, Wind Tribulation Immortals who founded the alliance centuries prior. Nodding, he entered.

Four Seas Zhai had three floors: common goods below, treasures above, and VIP chambers atop. Though morning lulls gripped the town, several customers browsed—proof of thriving business.

Everything changed when Fang Lie arrived.

A Qi Sea Realm shop assistant approached, mistaking Fang Lie’s aura for Golden Pool realm mastery. "Esteemed guest, how may I serve you?"

Fang Lie grinned. "I want everything here."

"Joking?" The assistant gaped. "Our stock’s worth billions! It’d form a mountain!"

"No joke." Fang Lie chuckled. "I’m taking it all—without paying."

"Robbery!" The assistant scrambled behind a manager.

The Golden Pool realm manager scowled. "Who dares cause trouble here?"

"Trouble?" Fang Lie smirked. "This is trouble."

The Devouring Heaven Chaos Halberd flashed. The manager’s head rolled, blood spraying walls.

The assistant fled upstairs shrieking. Fang Lie let him go, turning to frozen customers. "Leaving? Or shopping more?"

He stepped aside, clearing the exit.

Several customers jolted awake from their daze and scrambled out of Four Seas Zhai. At Golden Pool cultivation level like the manager, none dared resist after witnessing Fang Lie’s single-strike victory.

Fang Lie stood admiring the upgraded Devouring Heaven Chaos Halberd. The weapon now measured five feet long and pulsed with fifth-rank low-quality power – finally usable in proper combat. Its advancement came from devouring that fifth-rank whip treasure, though subsequent fire-element treasures only boosted its strength without raising rank.

He calculated grimly: advancing to fifth-rank mid-quality required three fifth-rank mid treasures, or one higher-tier item. While manageable now, future upgrades looked daunting. Eighth-rank treasures were rare as phoenix feathers, ninth-rank rarer still. Mountains of lower-tier items might substitute, but the astronomical numbers needed…

His brooding shattered as a Purple-robed Cultivator stormed in, chest swirling with Purple Palace realm energy. "Who dares attack Four Seas Zhai?" the man roared.

"Mo Sect’s Fang Lie!" The youth grinned like a wolf spotting prey. "Returning your courtesy after your men smashed my shop."

"Impossible!" The cultivator’s face paled. "Our Nascent Soul True Immortal contingent-"

"-lies dead." Fang Lie tossed a familiar Sumeru Bag. "Recognize this?"

The purple-robed man’s shield materialized as he backpedaled, hands weaving to activate shop defenses. Too slow. The halberd’s Taotie head snapped forward, swallowing his protective treasure whole before the blade bisected him vertically.

With fifth-rank power and stored Spiritual Energy, Fang Lie now slaughtered Purple Palace Masters effortlessly. Most couldn’t afford fifth-tier defenses anyway.

He ransacked the premises systematically – counters, floors, secret rooms exposed by old bird’s scrutiny. Finally, he leveled the three-story building with one earth-shaking swing, leaving only splinters and stunned onlookers.
