Chapter 318: Yin Court Underworld True Spirit Domain Chart

The paths of Heaven and Humanity instinctively favor those who benefit their harmony.

Mu Lin’s establishment of the Underworld clearly aided humanity’s survival, particularly during this perilous era plagued by evil spirits. Its core principle of balancing the yin and yang realms also served the world, earning Heaven’s approval.

Under the dual gaze of both paths, the newly formed ledger of life and death in Mu Lin’s hands erupted with dazzling radiance.

"Hummm!!!"

When the light faded, Mu Lin was astonished to find the ledger had transformed into a top-grade merit treasure, just one step away from becoming a spiritual weapon.

"This changes everything! With this ledger copy, I can now impose Predetermined Death even upon High Mastery of Transformation experts!"

Though Mu Lin could decree their fates, actual execution depended on his capabilities. While he wielded the ledger copy and top-grade treasure, these seasoned experts themselves possessed master-level or Grandmaster-level techniques from their prodigious youths.

True superiority between the ledger and these cultivators could only be proven through direct confrontation. Regardless of outcomes, one fact remained—Mu Lin now held lethal means against High Mastery of Transformation practitioners.

Yet the formidable ledger represented merely a fraction of his enlightenment gains. His true breakthrough lay in fusing multiple cultivation methods into a unified system.

Checking his Attribute Panel, Mu Lin found it drastically simplified. Most original cultivation methods had vanished, leaving only the 【Yin Court Underworld · True Spirit Domain Chart】. Though their names disappeared, their core traits endured. He could still nurture spirits through Divine Lord’s Summoning of True Resolve, cast curses via the ledger, and retain his Mind Image · City of Heaven’s Funeral.

"Everything remains, yet nothing stays the same."

Mu Lin examined the True Spirit Domain Chart mapping his current and future paths. The chart displayed 365 divine positions across tiers—some glowing, others dim.

Starting from the base:

"Yin soldiers and ghost officials form the Underworld’s foundation—that’s logical."

"Next tier: Yaksha commanders, county-level civil/military judges, and Yin soldier captains."

"Third tier: County City Gods, equivalent to combining Essence and Evil realm Daoists."

"Above them: Prefecture-level judges, State City Gods, and Ink Dragon, the River Lord—all matching High Mastery of Transformation… Wait?!"

Post-fusion, Mu Lin gaped at his subordinates’ upgraded ranks. Martial Judge Zhong Kui now capped at High Mastery of Transformation…

"Wait—his middle-grade bright red wine gourd proves he always belonged there! My previous weakness limited his display. Now he’s restored!"

Further analysis confirmed Zhong Kui and Civil Judge Cui Yu rightfully occupied this tier. As for Ink Dragon, the River Lord—its black river water control elevated its standing. Full mastery would solidify its High Mastery of Transformation Cultivation.

After such contemplation, Mu Lin realized he no longer needed to deduce cultivation methods. By combining essence and evil into one, he could simply adopt an existing persona from the Yin Court Underworld’s True Spirit Domain Chart to achieve Transformation and become a high-level cultivator.

"Transformation requires shedding the mortal body to forge a divine form. Whether it’s Zhong Kui, Cui Yu, or the Ink Dragon River God, these all count as divine forms. Most ordinary cultivators and even geniuses follow this path – their divine bodies aren’t much stronger than Zhong Kui’s or Cui Yu’s."

Of course, Mu Lin wouldn’t settle for this. "While feasible, it’s the least rewarding approach. A true genius should accomplish the impossible. During my Transformation, I’ll condense both the Yama throne and Zhu Long’s power."

Though he couldn’t fully manifest Zhu Long or Yama’s might yet, he could create juvenile versions to be perfected when reaching Earth Immortal stage. Mu Lin chuckled wryly: "Even as Earth Immortal, I probably can’t fully unleash Yama’s power. That might require Earth Master realm. By then, my civil and military judges won’t be limited to Transformation tier either."

Mu Lin’s Zhong Kui originally belonged to Transformation tier. Earlier enhancements merely unlocked its potential rather than elevating its rank. His self-created cultivation path remained a work in progress. Moving forward, Mu Lin planned to study various schools and integrate their strengths into his True Spirit Domain Chart – just as he’d merged the Cycle of Life and Death, Great Yin Living Scripture, and Black Water Mystic Serpent’s Transformation Technique before.

This continual absorption would elevate the Chart’s rank until it rivaled the Yin Emperor of Lidu. Integration would also improve divine beings within – Zhong Kui’s Seven Stars Demon-Slaying Sword and bright red wine gourd could become spiritual weapons, pushing him to Earth Master tier. The Ink Dragon River God’s ancestral awakening into true dragon form would similarly advance its position.

"Must I keep learning new techniques to strengthen the Chart?" Reviewing the Chart, Mu Lin noted this wasn’t strictly necessary due to the incomplete Yama position. The fifth tier above civil/military judges and State City God showed Yama’s embryonic form, built upon Sky-High Technique Spell: Blank Divine Rank and fused abilities – City God’s judgment, Cui Yu’s ledger of life and death, and Other Shore Flower sea’s power.

At its core blazed the sun-like willing heart fire, product of merged techniques. This arrogance-nurtured flame granted absolute dominion, enhanced by master-level royal authority crown’s power to command subordinates. Mu Lin uncovered a shameless ability – refining evil ghosts or demons into the Chart using this flame, bypassing the need to create all 365 divine positions himself.

"This resembles how foreign gods become demons in defeated pantheons," he mused, recalling Baal’s demotion to demon king. While unscrupulous, the power proved convenient. His gaze fell on the Crimson Holy Grail – though an artifact, underworld positions weren’t limited to living beings. Ghost Gate and Naihe Bridge weren’t human yet held power.

"Better yet, artifacts can’t rebel." Mu Lin considered merging a Substitute Paper Figure with the Grail to create its master. "It could occupy the Blood River position, its crimson creatures becoming Asura denizens. Perfectly logical for the Underworld’s structure."
