Chapter 362: Calm

It seems that relying on Master alone to achieve enlightenment and for Jingtan Peak to rise together is probably not feasible.

Ji Yang turned his gaze back to the sleeping Little Black and shook his head again.

Aside from eating, all he did was sleep; he showed no potential for growth.

Then, Ji Yang remembered to water the newly planted spiritual plants once more, hoping they would grow quickly so he could harvest cultivation points.

Seeing this, Ren Yuning let out a cold laugh.

She was curious to see how many of the spiritual plants Ji Yang planted would die in a few days!

Just as Ji Yang was getting ready to choose a wooden house as his new home, the Golden Valiant Warrior slowly approached him while holding the immobilizing mirror.

He handed the immobilizing mirror back to Ji Yang and said,

"Young friend Ji, we have reached an agreement! Here is this magical tool back to you!"

Ji Yang nodded and took the immobilizing mirror.

Before Ji Yang could speak, a middle-aged man’s frantic voice came from the mirror:

"I’m so angry! I’m so angry!"

From his tone, it seemed the two had not reached an agreement.

However, Ji Yang didn’t ask further; it didn’t concern him anyway. It was better that they didn’t agree, as it meant the Golden Valiant Warrior would work for free.

At that moment, the middle-aged man suddenly spoke:

"Kid, when will you fulfill your promise to help me find a body?"

Ji Yang was taken aback and awkwardly scratched his head.

If the middle-aged man hadn’t mentioned it, he would have almost forgotten.

"Kid, you haven’t forgotten, have you?"

The middle-aged man said with annoyance in the mirror.

Ji Yang replied earnestly,

"Of course not, but as you can see, I’ve been really busy lately. After I came back, I’ve had a lot going on. How about this: when I leave the peak next time, I’ll help you find a suitable body. How does that sound?"

Since it was a promise he had already made, Ji Yang naturally wouldn’t go back on his word.

Once the middle-aged man’s spirit left, he could still get an ancient magical tool without any worries, which was worthwhile.

"Can’t it be done now?"

The middle-aged man pressed on.

Hearing this, Ji Yang sighed,

"My Master has not been allowing me to leave the peak recently. Why don’t you go talk to my Master about it?"

The middle-aged man fell silent; he really didn’t dare to approach Ji Yang’s Master about this matter.

"Fine, when you leave the peak, I’ll remind you again!"

After saying that, the middle-aged man fell into silence.

Ji Yang shook his head slightly.

The split soul called him "Young Friend Ji" while the main soul referred to him as "Kid."

How could there be such a big difference when they were the same person?

Fortunately, the middle-aged man couldn’t hear Ji Yang’s inner thoughts; otherwise, he would surely be infuriated to the point of losing his primordial spirit.

In the following days, Ji Yang stayed on Jingtan Peak. Besides taking care of the spiritual plants, he spent his days fishing and occasionally harvesting some spiritual plants to refine into pills to boost his cultivation points.

On the second day, the spiritual grains Ji Yang planted had already sprouted, growing vigorously.

Since Ji Yang had removed any flaws from the spiritual grains, not a single spiritual insect was born in the spiritual field.

This was good news for Ji Yang, as it would allow for a better harvest from the spiritual grains.

However, Little Black grew restless, wandering around the spiritual field day after day.

It used to be in charge of catching insects, but now it searched the entire mountain peak’s spiritual field and still found no spiritual insects, whether among the top-quality or mid-quality spiritual grains.

The feeling was indescribable, as if Jingtan Peak no longer needed it.

Meanwhile, Little White continued to cast spells for rain twice a day.

This only added to Little Black’s frustration. Did it really have to change sects to be with that woman?

But in a new place, it seemed there wouldn’t be as many free spiritual grains to eat.

It didn’t have the same talent as the other two True Spirits, which made Little Black anxious. It could only wag its tail behind Ji Yang, showing its existence.

If Ji Yang discovered Little Black was missing, would Jingtan Peak still function? What would happen to it then?

Even more infuriating for Little Black was that, besides itself, that turtle was even more enthusiastic. Every day, it was either behind Ji Yang or right beside him, afraid Ji Yang wouldn’t notice it.

Thinking of this, Little Black felt immense anger.

But right now, it had no other choice but to live in this state of constant worry!

As for the food provided by Ren Yuning, Little Black accepted it without hesitation.

The more friends it had, the more paths it could take!

What if it really couldn’t go on? At least it would have a place to go!

Ye Wuchen still stayed in his room, not having come out for days.

Ji Yang had tried to check on his breathing to see if his Master was asleep.

However, before he got close, he encountered a barrier of sword intent that was even stronger than the first time he entered Jingtan Peak. He wondered if it was due to his improved cultivation level.

Knowing that Ye Wuchen was not asleep eased Ji Yang’s worries!

Apart from this, the sect had received news regarding Ji Yang capturing Ren Yuning.

The sect had already started negotiations with the Heaven Demon Sect to release all the disciples of the He Dao Sect that they had imprisoned. Once all the disciples returned to the sect, they would let Ren Yuning leave safely.

Though negotiations were still ongoing, the Heaven Demon Sect had yet to respond.

However, judging by the expressions of the Sect Master and several elders, they did not seem worried that the Heaven Demon Sect would refuse.

Ji Yang reminded Elder Liu that among the imprisoned disciples was a nephew of Elder Tai.

During these few days, Ren Yuning was arranged to stay in a wooden house.

Although she was a hostage, it was essential not to treat her too harshly. For security reasons, Ji Yang temporarily stored her messaging talisman but did not confiscate her storage ring.

After all, Ji Yang already had one of Ren Yuning’s storage rings in his possession.

However, since a hostage was still in the peak, Ji Yang didn’t open it to check for now.

In recent days, Ren Yuning’s surprise had only increased.

She had initially wanted to see how Ji Yang’s spiritual plants would die, so she could mock him.

But after observing every day, she found that the plants in Ji Yang’s spiritual field not only thrived but grew even better.

This made Ren Yuning doubt herself.

Could it be that the many books she read on planting spiritual plants were wrong?

Or was it that Jingtan Peak had some unique qualities?

Yet, even after walking around the entire Jingtan Peak, she could not find any differences. This place was just like any other, only with slightly denser spiritual energy from the heavens and earth.

After some comparison, Ren Yuning could only attribute it to the presence of three additional True Spirits on Jingtan Peak.

This further fueled Ren Yuning’s desire to take the three spiritual beasts back with her.

In addition to trying to persuade Little Black, she had begun connecting with the other two beasts as well, but her actions were quite discreet. For now, neither of the two beasts had agreed, but they accepted any pills she offered without hesitation.

This gave Ren Yuning confidence that as long as she persisted, she would definitely reap rewards.

Furthermore, during these few days, Ren Yuning closely observed Ji Yang, wanting to uncover his secret.

But no matter how hard she searched, she found nothing.

Every day, Ji Yang simply checked on the spiritual plants and the spiritual grains in the spiritual field, showing no intent to cultivate, as if he had forgotten he was a cultivator.

She meticulously observed the spiritual plants in the spiritual field but noticed nothing unusual.

After a long fruitless search, Ren Yuning did not give up and continued to carefully observe Ji Yang’s daily actions, trying to find some patterns.

She couldn’t believe that with her cleverness, she wouldn’t be able to find even a hint of Ji Yang’s flaws!
