Chapter 373: Hunting Evil (Part Two)

In the desolate wilderness, deep within the dense forest,

Wang Chen opened the Supreme Mysterious Spirit Dragon True Form Image and released the four villagers he had imprisoned inside.

He had possessed the True Form image for a long time, but due to his limited cultivation level and experience, his understanding of this treasure map remained superficial.

Currently, the only use Wang Chen knew for the True Form image was to capture living beings.

However, capturing living beings came at a cost; keeping the large blue donkey inside used very little energy, but with these four Qi Training cultivators now inside, the previously accumulated energy was visibly decreasing.

As a result, Wang Chen sought a hidden spot nearby to carry out his next plan.

These villagers who had come to him had changed his initial thoughts and prompted him to develop a new plan.

"Please spare our lives, Higher Steward!"

The awakened villagers realized they had hit a wall and all lay prostrate on the ground, pleading, “Please, grant us a chance to live!”

The once imposing burly man was now like a soft-shelled crab, unable to get up.

"Whether I spare you is negotiable,"

Wang Chen said. "Now I will ask you questions, and you must answer. It doesn’t matter if you can’t answer everything, but if you lie even once, don’t blame me for being ruthless!"

The villagers immediately felt as if they had been granted amnesty and vowed to tell everything without holding back.

Wang Chen asked about the situation in Shangyang Village—how many people lived there, if any strange occurrences had happened lately, or if any notable figures had appeared.

Desperate for their lives, the villagers eagerly rushed to answer Wang Chen’s questions, even getting into heated arguments with flushed faces when they disagreed.

They were indeed a lively bunch.

Through this thorough and repetitive questioning, Wang Chen not only gained a fair understanding of Shangyang Village but also uncovered two suspicious individuals.

The first was an old man living in the northern woods of the village, a reclusive, eccentric old cultivator. Villagers claimed he practiced nefarious techniques and forbade children from approaching the forest.

However, there was no concrete evidence to support the many rumors about the old man. Otherwise, he would have been reported and captured long ago.

The second suspicious figure was Widow Li from the eastern end of the village.

This widow was beautiful and often exchanged glances with the idle men, even sharing a fleeting romance with the burly man. But for the past six months, she had suddenly become reclusive, withdrawing from her neighbors.

The burly man had even sought her out but ended up hitting a dead end.

He felt that Widow Li was rather strange and often cursed when discussing her, appearing quite unhappy.

Wang Chen asked a few more questions and, feeling he had squeezed out all the useful information, raised his hand and sealed the five senses of the three villagers, leaving only the burly man.

"Take off your clothes."

Wang Chen instructed him, "And your boots too."

The burly man was taken aback, instinctively covering his backside: “Huh?”

Wang Chen twitched his eye and immediately kicked him: “Hurry up!”

The burly man, stripped of his powers, was utterly defenseless. A kick from Wang Chen nearly made him cough up blood, forcing him to obediently shed his outer garments and boots.

Once the man had finished, Wang Chen sealed his five senses and left him with his companions.

Donning the burly man’s attire and boots, Wang Chen took a deep breath, and his body began to swell and stretch.

In no time at all, a perfect replica of the burly man stood before him!

Wang Chen inspected himself in the mirror, ensuring no obvious flaws, before calmly departing.

As for the four villagers sprawled on the ground, the restrictions binding them would lift on their own in due time.

Though these men were no saints, they bore no bloodlust or malice, clearly not the vicious sort, so Wang Chen spared their lives.

Otherwise, he would have cashed them in for Heavenly Merit on the spot!

Pulling out his wine flask, Wang Chen took several hearty gulps.

Then, with a swaggering gait, he strutted back to Shangyang Village, mimicking the burly man’s imposing demeanor.

The villagers, upon seeing Wang Chen, not only avoided greeting him but also steered clear as if he were a plague, terrified of provoking him.

This reaction spoke volumes about the kind of figure he was in the village!

The situation played right into Wang Chen’s hands as he made his way to the eastern end of the village. Using the detailed information from the burly man, he quickly located Widow Li’s home.

Bang, bang, bang!

He pounded on the door, shouting, “Open up, hurry!”

“Who is it?”

A moment later, a sultry voice called out from within.

The courtyard gate creaked open, revealing a young woman with peach blossom eyes standing before Wang Chen.

At the sight of him, her brows furrowed, and she snapped, “What do you want now?”

“My dear, I’ve missed you!”

Wang Chen chuckled, his breath reeking of alcohol as he reached out to caress her face.

Widow Li’s eyes flashed with disgust as she slapped his hand away. “Get lost!”

“Huh?”

Wang Chen’s expression darkened, his voice turning icy. “So, you’ve forgotten the old for the new, have you? They say a day as a husband is worth a hundred days of kindness—and we’ve shared more than just a day!”

He shot her a sideways glance, his tone dripping with mockery.

“What nonsense are you spouting? There’s no old or new here!”

Widow Li’s face paled, and she took a step back. “If you harass me again, I’ll report you to the village chief!”

Though she tried to appear composed, the flicker of panic in her eyes didn’t escape Wang Chen’s notice.

“Report me to the village chief?”

Wang Chen narrowed his eyes, his voice menacing. “Perfect! I suspect you’re hiding thieves. Let’s see what the village chief uncovers!”

“Come inside!”

Now thoroughly alarmed, Widow Li yanked Wang Chen into the yard, glancing around nervously before firmly shutting the courtyard gate.

Wang Chen smirked. “I knew something was off about you!”

Widow Li turned to face him, her teeth clenched. “What do you want?”

Wang Chen licked his lips. “You know exactly what I want.”

She forced a seductive smile. “Let’s discuss this inside.”

Wang Chen grinned triumphantly. “That’s more like it! As long as you cooperate, I’ll treat you well.”

He strutted confidently into the room.

Widow Li followed, her guard down. Once inside the inner room, her expression hardened. “Zhu Lao San, don’t push your luck…”

Slap!

Wang Chen struck her hard across the face, sending the alluring widow tumbling onto the bed.

Caught off guard, Widow Li fell unconscious instantly.

Wang Chen rubbed his hands together, a wicked grin spreading across his face. “You brought this on yourself. Tonight, you’ll pay!”
