Chapter 374: Eight Hundred Thousand Resonances

Yun Ye set out on his journey alone.

To stabilize the Tomorrow Society, he had wasted too much time and missed the best opportunity. However, with his power, it was still not too late to start now.

The Great Wilderness contained over one hundred and twenty Spirit Towns, which meant there were more than one hundred Dao artifacts available.

Undoubtedly, most of these Dao artifacts had been inherited for a thousand years, accumulating over ten thousand resonances; they were at the level of aristocratic artifacts.

If he could seize them all, Yun Ye would gain access to the Domain Dao artifacts.

With a Domain Dao artifact in hand, even if he lost the Force of Freedom, he could stand on equal footing with the Luo Dynasty and the Pure World Holy Land.

In this light, it seemed much simpler for the Cloud Heavenly Spirit Sect and Dream Lake to gain resonances through fierce battles than to target these Spirit Towns.

However, when the Luo Dynasty was first established, the ruling Dao artifacts defined the order, claiming that all Spirit Town’s Dao artifacts belonged to the Luo Dynasty. Any other forces competing would see their power levels lowered, meaning that even if they possessed artifacts of the same level as the Holy Lineage, they would be at a disadvantage.

The two sects, already at a lower tier, could even be directly eradicated by Dao artifacts.

It could be said that the Holy Lineage preferred that the two sects invade the Spirit Towns so that they could fully accept the two sects’ super spirit veins and millennia of heritage.

And that was just one reason.

The second reason was that when the Spirit Town boundaries were first defined, due to the abundance of demons and monsters, most of the founders’ Dao artifacts were formulated with rules of debt repayment, necessitating tenfold repayment.

Yun Ye was the Dao artifact wielder of the path of tomorrow, so after slaying, he could receive the full resonances. However, if a Dao artifact wielder of the same Dao System were to absorb them, they would only gain one-tenth of the resonances and incur a two-thirds loss.

Ultimately, one million resonances would be directly weakened to about thirty thousand, which was a completely thankless number for the two sects.

The more than a hundred Spirit Towns were not foolish; if they were invaded on a large scale, they would surely unite, bottlenecking most of one sect’s power.

At that point, if the other sect took action, the outcome would be painfully obvious.

And for the New Dao, none of this mattered. The rules of ruling Dao artifacts had to be one tier stronger than the New Dao to be effective; if it was a Dao artifact like the path of tomorrow with the Slice Strike True Name, it would need to be two tiers higher to eradicate it. With over a hundred Spirit Towns, they could serve as sustenance; slaying them would be just that—slaying.

The New Dao was already in a position of being surrounded on all sides; every kill brought a gain, and perhaps, the enemies, in seeking more resonances, might even have to lend assistance.

“Strengthen the Slice Strike True Name, tomorrow!”

“Understood.”

Yun Ye arrived at a Spirit Town enveloped in a volcanic area, where the heat was astonishing and completely inhospitable to ordinary beings.

However, the spirit energy was incredibly dense. When Yun Ye looked around, he realized that the residents of this Spirit Town were entirely Spiritual Law masters.

The family in control of this Spirit Town had at least ten law realm masters and even one half-step Mystic Realm cultivator.

Had a thousand years of accumulation allowed them to rise to the levels of a Mystic Heaven family?

Unfortunately, this was as far as it would go.

“Tomorrow!”

“Dual Slice Strike—Form Release!”

A black-haired little girl stepped forward, transforming the flames into flowing water. Her right hand, adorned with a Water Lotus, spun gracefully as her blue eyes turned icy cold. The moment she appeared, a mass of blue surrounded Yun Ye’s arms, quickly spreading across his body.

Yun Ye’s silver hair turned azure, and his pupils shifted from silver to blue, enveloped by the power of Form Release.

He grasped his sword and locked onto all law realm masters in the volcanic Spirit Town.

At that brief moment, all the law realm masters were horrified and tried to escape, sensing immense fear.

But the next instant, a flash of blue light surged past; the barrier could not hold, and space was ignored as a sword directly struck down, freezing all law realm figures in place. They transformed into shooting stars, countless spirit energy began to disperse.

Then, with a wave of his hand, Yun Ye connected many white threads to the bodies, controlling them and fixing their life force in place.

“How dare you invade my clan and kill my kin! After this battle, the Cloud Heavenly Spirit Sect will send Powerful Figures to hunt you down across thousands of miles; you will not escape!”

The Half-Step Mystic Realm cultivator from the volcanic Spirit Town took action, summoning his Dao artifact to confront the Dao Sword of Tomorrow before turning to flee.

He was very decisive, employing many secret techniques and methods to attempt his escape.

But Yun Ye was not an ordinary figure; without even raising an eyebrow, his Rainbow Eye saw through everything, and in a single sword strike that transcended space, he ended the cultivator’s life.

“It… can’t be…”

This Half-Step Mystic Realm cultivator struggled for a moment, but soon silence swallowed him; he died unwillingly, transformed into a puppet by Yun Ye.

With a wave of his hand, Yun Ye pulled him into the treasured ring secret realm.

In a mere glance, there were already hundreds of law realm puppets and countless spirit realm puppets lined up.

At this moment, if he could acquire Qushuang’s formations, he would truly be capable of slaying gods. He remembered how astonishing Qushuang’s formations were!

With only seven out of eight gathered, they had already become powerful enough to astound anyone!

According to Yun Ye’s estimates, this ultimate formation was likely derived from Qushuang’s Nine Lives Spirit Law, calculated over her entire life…

At the very least, within the Luo Dynasty, it was undoubtedly the ultimate formation!

“Swish!”

The strongest Dao artifact of the volcanic Spirit Town was obliterated; a vast amount of resonances transformed into flowing light, consumed by the Ming Rihui Sword.

Tomorrow covered her mouth in satisfaction, and her figure slightly grew.

“Three hundred thousand resonances…”

Yun Ye glanced at the Ming Rihui Sword, which had gained two more patterns, and then looked at Tomorrow.

Tomorrow also underwent corresponding changes; her long black hair was tied at the ends with a water cloud ornament, giving her a very gentle appearance. Blue water rings appeared around her ankles, making her look even more sacred.

As the resonances continued to grow, Tomorrow kept evolving!

Originally, the path of tomorrow was meant to be a story about managing a nation, ultimately obtaining resonances. Yet, in this world, there were too many enemies; by slaying foes and seizing resonances, liberating ordinary beings from millennia of resentment, he collected them even faster.

Yun Ye did not linger; after distributing the resonances according to various rules, he traversed space once more and headed to the next Spirit Town.

His efficiency surpassed that of the Tomorrow Society by far; he almost slaughtered indiscriminately, able to destroy all resistance in a single encounter.

This wave of actions lasted a full day, ending only after Yun Ye dealt with thirty Spirit Towns.

The terrifying destructive efficiency spread panic.

Even the most confident Spiritual Law families dared not stay in place to wait for death; they fled towards the two sects seeking refuge.

Thus, Yun Ye’s actions came to an end.

He obtained a total of eight hundred thousand resonances, most of which came from the Dao artifacts, while the remaining portion stemmed from centuries of accumulated resentment—calamity energy!

The incredible scale of Yun Ye’s resonances caused all the Dao artifact rules to expand unprecedentedly, and their effectiveness underwent a significant evolutionary leap.

He was most concerned with the merit system; after the resonances increased to two hundred thousand, the level cap broke through to two hundred, granting an additional 3,100 Skill Points, enough to further derive the power of Transforming Dark Eternal Silence.
