Chapter 465
byChapter 465: The Might of Divine Thunder
The Divine Thunder crackled, illuminating the sky.
Purple light shimmered across Zeng Xuan’s back as thunder rumbled. He walked slowly but resolutely toward the spatial passage’s distorted entrance, never pausing or hesitating.
Under the clear sky, dozens of cultivators watched him approach the warped space. Zeng Xuan stopped at the entrance, turned to glance at Ye Yun’s group, and flashed a faint smile.
Taking a deep breath, he stepped inside. His figure distorted and vanished from sight.
He had entered the true core area of Thunder Falls Valley.
Instantly, the disciples erupted in murmurs.
“That’s Zeng Xuan! Even with his grasp of Thunder Spirit Qi, how did he pass the Purple Mansion Thunder’s trial so easily?”
“Exactly! Purple Mansion Thunder can’t be blocked by mere Thunder Avoidance Talismans. Even Fifth Level Golden Core cultivators like us would struggle!”
“Everyone knows only two types can enter the core: those attuned to thunder through Thunder Spirit Qi, or those strong enough to endure the heavenly tribulation. You’re only fifth-level Golden Core without thunder affinity—how could you enter?”
“We know, but it’s still frustrating.”
“Divine Grace Palace lives up to its reputation as second only to Misty Sect. Their disciples reach such heights—Zeng Xuan must’ve mastered Thunder Spirit Qi profoundly.”
“If only I’d joined Divine Grace or Misty Sect…”
Over a dozen cultivators buzzed with discussion, while Ying Wujun and Su Xingyun exchanged tense glances.
Ying Wujun’s group had assumed Zeng Xuan would reach the spatial passage battered and limping. Instead, he’d crossed hundreds of zhang unharmed.
Su Xingyun fretted openly. “Zeng Xuan’s first to the treasure area. If we delay, he’ll claim everything!”
Ying Wujun shook his head. “Thunder Falls Valley’s existed for millennia. If treasures could be emptied, they’d be gone already.”
Su Xingyun blinked, then nodded. “Right. He’s only fourth-level Golden Core. Even with thunder affinity, he can’t rival us. The core area’s traps will slow him.”
“We shouldn’t linger regardless,” Ying Wujun said.
Su Xingyun smirked. “Stop hiding your cards, old friend. Show your treasure so we can enter.”
Jue Chen cut in coldly, “You’re not Flying Star Sect. Show your own thunder-blocking artifact first.”
Su Xingyun scoffed. “A fourth-level Golden Core like you, lacking thunder affinity, would vanish in a flash under Purple Mansion Thunder.”
As Jue Chen reddened, Ying Wujun raised a hand. “Jue Chen stays. I promised our sect master.”
“Fine,” Su Xingyun shrugged. “If he dies, that’s your problem.”
“Same to you!” Jue Chen snapped.
Ying Wujun silenced them with a gesture. Blue light flashed in his palm, revealing a star-shaped artifact. With a shake, it expanded into a three-foot-wide Blue Light Starship.
Su Xingyun grinned. “The Flying Star Sect’s serious, bringing an Immortal artifact!”
Ye Yun studied the ship curiously—a non-combat Immortal artifact.
“Your turn,” Jue Chen said smugly.
Su Xingyun waved his hand, summoning a yellow-glowing Glazed Umbrella that floated above them.
“A defensive Immortal artifact!” Jue Chen exclaimed. “With this and our ship, we’ll pass easily!”
Ying Wujun nodded. “Together, we’ll reach the treasure area.”
Amid envious stares, the trio boarded the ship under the umbrella’s glow. At Ying Wujun’s command, they soared into the thunderous sky.
Everyone watched intently.
BOOM!
A child-arm-thick thunderbolt struck the umbrella the moment they entered. The ship lurched, slowing to a crawl compared to Zeng Xuan’s steady pace.
“Immortal artifacts can’t match Thunder Spirit Qi,” Zhong Huali told Ye Yun. “You might actually succeed.”
Ye Yun shrugged. “I’ll enter. What’s your plan without thunder affinity?”
“I have methods,” Zhong Huali said stiffly.
“Another Immortal artifact?” Ye Yun smirked. “Thought you’d rely on raw power.”
“I haven’t survived the heavenly tribulation!” Zhong Huali snapped.
“I’ll brave the thunder without artifacts,” Ye Yun goaded. “Care to compete?”
“You’ve got the advantage!” Zhong Huali glowered. “Let’s see who finds the Thunder Wood and Ice Spirit Herb first.”
Ye Yun sighed dramatically. “Such burdens, having thunder affinity…”
Before Zhong Huali could retort, cracks spiderwebbed across the trembling Glazed Umbrella. The ship slowed further—if the umbrella broke, the trio would face the thunder’s full fury.
