Chapter 473: Cloud Saint Beast King

"Indeed, only celestial tools can touch upon the laws of the wide road," Xu Fan said.

In the game, the mortal Tian Puppet Masters have seen many talented individuals, especially a young boy named Following Shadows, whose combat talent was unparalleled in Xu Fan’s experience.

It was unfortunate that he was a mortal without spirit roots, destined to live only a hundred years.

So, Xu Fan wanted to find a way to keep them around.

However, extending a mortal’s life by hundreds of years was akin to defying the heavens, and turning them into ghost cultivators would also harm his moral integrity.

Now, Xu Fan was looking for a solution that would allow them to stay in the cultivation world with their mortal bodies intact.

One of his ideas was to create a small world within a celestial tool and alter its Heavenly Dao rules to permit cultivation without spirit roots.

"Master, I understand your idea, but I think it would be easier to create a world that can hold mortal souls," Second Clone suggested.

"At least for the next hundred years, this seems like the best option," Second Clone added.

"I still prefer to achieve everything in one go," Xu Fan replied.

"Then it’s all about luck—whether you can find a celestial tool that already has its own space," First Clone said with a shrug.

"Luck?"

Xu Fan’s interest was piqued by the word; with enough resources, luck shouldn’t be a problem, right?

"Grape, show them the eleventh plan for the hundredfold return," Xu Fan instructed.

A large light curtain appeared in front of the first and second clones.

"Even with your resources, it’s not enough for a celestial tool," First Clone commented as he looked at the plan on the light curtain.

"That’s why we need to upgrade~" Second Clone said, a bit resentfully.

"Good, you’re both quick on the uptake," Xu Fan clapped his hands in praise.

"Swap out that mediocre set of artifacts for the top-tier ones, add all the fancy components, and have Grape install various battle systems."

"With this setup, creating a celestial tool should be feasible," Xu Fan said with a grin to the first and second clones.

"Your money-making gear, consisting of 108 top-tier artifacts, will drain our sect’s treasury," First Clone quickly calculated while looking at the light curtain.

"Don’t worry, if we’re short on spirit ore, I’ll figure something out. There’s always Qianling Sect; with their wealth, what do we have to fear?"

"At worst, we’ll just sell more technology," Xu Fan chuckled.

Meanwhile, the Qi Refinement masters of Qianling Sect were happily working alongside the beast clan master craftsmen in the underground space.

They felt like they were in heaven, wishing they could split themselves in two to learn even more.

"Alright then, gathering 108 pieces of money-making gear won’t be quick. First Clone and I will take it slow for now," First Clone said.

"You’ve worked hard," Xu Fan acknowledged.

"If you know we’ve worked hard, go find some more master craftsmen," Second Clone suggested.

"I’m already on it, I’m already on it," Xu Fan quickly replied.

After the first and second clones left, Xu Fan called over Xu Yuexian.

"Master, what do you need me for?" Xu Yuexian asked as she approached.

"Your Beast Cage is ready."

"After you bond with it, take the Beast Cage to the Steel Wall of the demon race and stay there for a while."

"I’ll have Grape’s clone gather some beasts from the beast race for you, and you can catch some yourself," Xu Fan said, guiding Xu Yuexian into the master recognition grand formation.

Getting a top-tier artifact to recognize its master during the Transformation Stage can be tricky without a formation.

Even with Grape’s clone as the spirit, it’s better to be cautious.

Just as Xu Fan was about to explain how to use the Beast Cage to Xu Yuexian, his expression changed. He told Xu Yuexian, "Figure it out on your own for now; I need to head to the demon race."

With that, Xu Fan disappeared in an instant.

On the Steel Wall of the demon race, Xu Fan listened intently to Grape’s report.

"How much time do we have?" Xu Fan asked.

"Three hours," Grape replied.

Grape had just informed Xu Fan that a beast king, suspected to have combat strength far beyond Spirit Cut Elder, was flying toward the Steel Wall of the demon race.

A light curtain appeared before Xu Fan, showing the beast king looking up at the sky, his eyes filled with killing intent and disdain.

"The beast king from the Holy Lion Clan. Is this revenge for the Blood Lion Clan?" Xu Fan wondered.

"From the intel we got from the Blood Lion Clan, the Blood Lion Beast King and the Holy Lion Clan’s Cloud Saint Beast King are close, even calling each other brothers," Grape explained.

"Why didn’t you mention this before?"

Another light curtain appeared before Xu Fan, which he quickly dismissed.

"Alright, I know you told me," Xu Fan said.

"The four railguns are ready; we can attack as soon as the Cloud Saint Beast King crosses the warning line," Grape reported.

"Just hearing the name Cloud Saint Beast King tells me he’s not going to be easy. He’s probably way above Spirit Cut in rank," Xu Fan said, his expression serious.

"Grand Elder, how can you judge without a fight?" Spirit Cut, holding the Heavy Water Source Blade, said excitedly. Knowing a strong enemy was coming, he had quickly gotten a celestial tool from his grandson.

Win or lose, they couldn’t afford to lose their spirit.

"Then let Spirit Cut Elder take the lead," Xu Fan suggested, confident the railguns would cover their retreat.

"No problem; watch me leave him with nothing," Spirit Cut said, his eyes gleaming with bloodlust.

The Cloud Saint Beast King was bringing hundreds of thousands of his kind, and Spirit Cut was thrilled at the thought of adding them to his blood sea.

"By the way, leave the little demons around the Cloud Saint Beast King alone; I need them."

Xu Fan was worried Spirit Cut would clear out the small demons first, leading to a big loss of high-quality beasts for the Beast Cage.

"Fine, this time I’ll just take out the Cloud Saint Beast King," Spirit Cut said, full of confidence.

At that moment, Xu Fan closed his eyes to prepare, needing to stay at his peak to push back the Cloud Saint Beast King!

Grape’s current abilities could only track average beast kings; if their combat strength was above Spirit Cut’s, it was harder to lock onto them.

This was why Xu Fan had come himself; using a puppet would cause just enough delay for the beast king to escape miles away.

The atmosphere on the Steel Wall grew tense, and Spirit Cut began to inspect the Heavy Water Source Blade as usual.

Xiong Li stood near Xu Fan, watching the Grand Elder’s worried face with a mix of frustration and determination.

He thought if he had more time, he could solve these problems himself.

Once he reached the Great Ascension stage, he was sure he could handle all sect issues with his twin hammers.

If one hammer wasn’t enough, he’d use two. He was determined to become the strongest in the Hidden Spirit Sect.

When that time came, he’d make sure everyone respected the Grand Elder.

But for now, he was still just a Golden Core stage disciple of the sect.
