Chapter 481: I’ll Return the Favor for Lingtai

The battle royale game has reached the final circle.

At this point, only ten disciples remain in the final circle.

Four from Qianling Sect and six from the Hidden Spirit Sect.

As the poison circle continues to shrink, only a circular area of about a hundred feet is left.

Three Qianling Sect disciples are gathered together, searching for their last ally.

“Brother Xie Peng, come out! Let’s face those Hidden Spirit Sect disciples together!”

“We won’t back down, even if we lose!” shouted one of the Qianling Sect disciples.

In the distance, the six Hidden Spirit Sect disciples are waiting for the final showdown.

With the Qianling Sect disciples participating, the Hidden Spirit Sect disciples have toned down their usual underhanded tactics.

In the past, aside from Xiong Li, no one dared to stand so boldly in the final circle.

The Hidden Spirit Sect disciples know that their sect has a good relationship with Qianling Sect, so they naturally treat the Qianling Sect disciples with more respect.

Well, except for Xu Lingtai.

Rumors have spread among the first-generation disciples of the Hidden Spirit Sect that Xu Lingtai once confronted Xie Peng, one of Qianling Sect’s top ten disciples, with a move called the Grand Feast at the Celestial Palace.

Although Xu Lingtai promised to keep it quiet, the disciples couldn’t help but gossip about it in private.

When the Qianling Sect disciples first arrived at the Hidden Spirit Sect, the topic of the Grand Feast at the Celestial Palace dominated the conversations, staying at the top of the discussion charts.

This has caused Xu Lingtai to endure a lot of strange looks within the sect.

The Qianling Sect disciple called out several times, but Xie Peng didn’t show up.

“Could it be that Brother Xie has already been eliminated?” the Qianling Sect disciple said, sounding disheartened.

“Alright, since Brother Xie isn’t in the final circle, the three of us will have to uphold Qianling Sect’s reputation.”

“We won’t back down; we’ll give it everything we’ve got,” said another Qianling Sect disciple.

“Brothers from the Hidden Spirit Sect, are you coming at us all at once, or one-on-one?” the Qianling Sect disciple shouted.

“Best two out of three. If you win, we’ll concede.”

“You can pick your opponents,” Xiong Li said, looking at the three Qianling Sect disciples.

Meanwhile, hiding in the shadows, Xie Peng could only apologize silently to his fellow disciples.

“I’m sorry, brothers, but I have to win this round,” Xie Peng said firmly.

The three Qianling Sect disciples didn’t hesitate, each choosing the strongest Hidden Spirit Sect disciple to face.

Xiong Li, Xu Lingtai, and Xiang Yun.

The outcome was almost predictable. The Hidden Spirit Sect won effortlessly, like ants trying to shake a giant tree.

“Truly worthy of being a top sect. Their composure is impressive,” Xiong Li said, praising them.

“Alright, now it’s time for some internal competition.”

“Will you step aside gracefully, or do I have to force you out?”

Xiong Li spoke as two enormous hammers appeared in his hands.

“Senior Brother, with that calm face and such bold words, you better watch out—Lingtai might pull out his ultimate move,” Qian Bing teased from behind his puppet.

Xiong Li’s expression shifted slightly. Honestly, even with his unbeatable defense, he was a bit nervous about this.

“Qian Bing, how can you just accuse me like that?”

“I’m close with Senior Brother Xiong Li; why would I use such tricks?” Xu Lingtai quickly defended himself, shooting glances around to stop the conversation.

If Xie Peng showed up now, it’d be a disaster.

“The last brother, come out already.”

“Let’s take down Senior Brother Xiong Li first, then we’ll fight for the top spot,” Qian Bing shouted to the group.

The other Hidden Spirit Sect Disciples waited for the hidden brother to reveal himself.

But after a long silence, nothing happened.

“Shadow Spike? Tian Cang? Hua Sha?” Qian Bing called out the usual suspects, but no one responded.

“If he’s too stubborn to come out, fine. Time’s running out—let’s all go at him together.”

As Xiong Li swung his hammers, they clashed, sending a shockwave of sound energy outward.

“Fine, but when I get out, I’ll find out who’s hiding!”

Qian Bing ordered his puppet to charge at Xiong Li.

Then came the sword formation, sword light, Five Elements Divine Technique, and defense tower attacks, one after another.

Facing the onslaught, Xiong Li glanced at Xiang Yun’s sword formation before unleashing his own fury.

The ground shook, the sky seemed to crack, and craters formed everywhere from Xiong Li’s hammer strikes.

Hidden in the shadows, Xie Peng watched in awe. Was this the power of the Hidden Spirit Sect’s Senior Brother?

He saw his friend Lingtai get taken out by a single hammer strike from a distance—the tight space was no help to Xu Lingtai.

Soon, Xiong Li swiftly eliminated the remaining disciples.

Now, in the battle royale world, only a ten-foot radius remained, with just Xiong Li and Xie Peng left.

“The hidden brother, come out.”

“Even if this poison circle shrinks to the end, I’ll outlast you,” Xiong Li said, putting away his hammers.

Xie Peng stayed still underground.

“Still not coming out?”

The active area shrank to a three-foot radius.

Finally, Xie Peng slowly emerged.

“Qianling Sect, Xie Peng?” Xiong Li said, recognizing him from past encounters.

“Friend Xiong Li, I want to win this battle royale. Can you do me a favor?” Xie Peng asked.

“You’ll have to earn it. I don’t do favors,” Xiong Li replied, picking up his hammer.

“Then don’t blame me, Brother Xiong,” Xie Peng said, his gaze sharp. Against anyone else, he might’ve stood a chance.

But facing Xiong Li, he felt completely outmatched.

Still, he had a way to make Xiong Li back down.

Xiong Li raised his hammer, smiling. “Come on, brother. I won’t hold it against you.”

Suddenly, multiple protective shields surrounded Xie Peng as he began forming seals.

His movements were slow—so slow that Xiong Li could see exactly what he was doing.

Xiong Li’s expression tightened, and he swung his hammer at Xie Peng without hesitation.

“Boom!”

The shields absorbed the blow completely.

Xie Peng kept forming seals, almost as if he was giving Xiong Li time to decide.

“You’re crossing a line, friend,” Xiong Li said, staring at him.

“I know your Hidden Spirit Sect’s rules forbid this, but I’ve held on this long just to win. Can you let me have this, Friend Xiong?” Xie Peng said calmly, still sealing.

Xiong Li’s face showed a mix of emotions as he studied Xie Peng. Finally, he said, “Consider it a favor for Lingtai.”

Xiong Li’s words confused Xie Peng, but as he watched Xiong Li step back and fade away, he realized he’d won.

It felt a bit underhanded, but he’d taken first place.

“Hahaha, interesting, very interesting!” Xu Fan laughed, watching the live broadcast.

His own disciple’s technique had been used against him by an outsider.
