Chapter 485: The Reluctant Master Craftsman

"Boom~"

The East Wind missile exploded three hundred miles away from the Steel Wall.

Spirit Cut felt the shockwaves from three hundred miles away and couldn’t help but remark, "Compared to this, a technique performed with the same spiritual energy is like a tiny flame trying to outshine the sun!"

"Spirit Cut Elder, you didn’t account for the mental strain. That’s also a form of consumption," Xu Gang chimed in.

"Ordinary techniques also have mental costs, but spiritual energy is the key factor," Spirit Cut replied.

Then, the five clusters of Five Elements of Spiritual Energy in Spirit Cut’s hand began to merge slowly, eventually forming a miniature East Wind missile.

However, the spiritual energy soon became unstable, resulting in a small mushroom cloud exploding in Spirit Cut’s hand.

"Spirit Cut Elder, your ratio for blending the spiritual energies is off. There’s too much fire spiritual energy and not enough earth-type spiritual energy," Xu Gang said with a hint of amusement in his eyes. The complexity of this technique was unparalleled; even a Great Ascension Master would struggle to master it quickly.

"Is that so? I’ll try again," Spirit Cut nodded.

Three hours later.

"Spirit Cut Elder, your integration of fire attribute and wood attribute spiritual energy is misaligned and uneven. The ratio of the special substance you extracted is also incorrect."

Xu Gang had been tirelessly guiding Spirit Cut throughout these three hours.

Spirit Cut sighed deeply, waved his hand, and dispersed the five clusters of spiritual energy.

"Enough. It seems this technique is not meant for me."

"Spirit Cut Elder, don’t give up! Under my master’s careful guidance, it took me two years to master this technique."

"So, Spirit Cut Elder, you must persist."

Spirit Cut nodded outwardly, but inwardly he grumbled, "If my master won’t teach me, what’s the point of persisting?"

Half a month later, on the vast plain behind the main peak, a group of Qianling Sect disciples gathered, waiting for their sect’s Star Ship to arrive.

All the Qianling Sect disciples wore reluctant expressions. Their three years in the Hidden Spirit Sect had helped them grow immensely.

Many disciples had even found their future paths for cultivation within the Hidden Spirit Sect.

Before parting, several Hidden Spirit Sect Disciples came to see them off.

"Xie Peng, this is goodbye for now. I don’t know when we’ll meet again."

"This is the five-element spirit pearl bracelet that has been with me since I was young. It’s a precious artifact crafted by my Master Ancestor," Xu Lingtai said as he removed the bracelet from his wrist and placed it in Xie Peng’s hand, his tone sincere.

Now, Xu Lingtai felt a twinge of regret. If given the choice again, he would never have recklessly used that technique.

Xie Peng looked at the five-element spirit pearl bracelet and then at Xu Lingtai, nodding. "Friend Lingtai, I accept your kind gesture."

At that moment, everyone felt the light dim as a massive Star Ship slowly descended to the designated docking area.

Master Qianling stepped off the Star Ship, accompanied by another master craftsman from their sect and a thousand Qianling Sect disciples.

Xu Fan, Spirit Cut, and Li Xingci’s family stepped forward to greet them.

"Grand Elder, it’s been a long time!" Master Qianling said with a smile.

Three years felt like just a blink of an eye to him, but his eagerness to bring home the master craftsman who had mastered special skills was almost unbearable.

"It’s been three years, and Master Qianling’s spiritual aura has grown even more powerful," Xu Fan said with a smile.

"Haha, you’re too kind, Grand Elder," Master Qianling replied, waving his hand, though his expression showed he was clearly pleased with the compliment.

"Grand Elder, I’ve brought a thousand disciples this time. How many will your sect be sending for the exchange?"

"Fifty first-generation disciples, one hundred second-generation disciples, and nine hundred fifty third-generation disciples," Xu Fan answered.

"Don’t worry; these one thousand one hundred disciples will be warmly welcomed in Qianling Sect," Master Qianling assured.

"If that’s the case, I’ll make sure your sect’s disciples are well taken care of too."

Master Qianling glanced around and asked curiously, "Where’s our precious master craftsman?"

"Master Wang Yi wants to stay for another three years," Xu Fan said with a smile.

Master Qianling’s expression shifted slightly. Was their prized treasure planning to stay at the Hidden Spirit Sect indefinitely?

"Elder Qianling, you might want to try persuading him," Xu Fan suggested with a grin.

"Alright, I’ll go see what he’s up to. Doesn’t he realize how much work is waiting for him back at the sect?" Master Qianling said.

"Putao, arrange accommodations for the newcomers," Xu Fan instructed before flying off with Master Qianling and the master craftsman toward the other side of the main peak’s plain.

A massive serpent-shaped giant beast race warship loomed ahead.

Wang Yi was deep in discussion with the master craftsman from the Mixed Iron Ape clan.

The main cutting section of the serpent-shaped giant beast race warship had been completed, and they were now working on internal modifications.

A large light curtain appeared beside them, displaying the blueprints for that section.

The two master craftsmen—one human and one beast—were passionately debating how to craft a particular component.

The intensity of their discussion drew a crowd, though neither of them noticed the growing audience.

"Master Wang Yi, three years have passed; it’s time for us to return," Master Qianling said kindly, treating him with the care befitting a treasured individual.

"This component should be crafted using bright spirit fire to…" Wang Yi paused, turning to find himself surrounded by people.

"Grand Elder, Second Grand Elder," Wang Yi greeted Xu Fan and Master Qianling first.

Then he turned to Master Qianling, "Second Grand Elder, I’d like to stay at the Hidden Spirit Sect for a few more years."

Wang Yi pointed excitedly at the beast race serpent-shaped warship.

"Grand Elder’s incredible design! If I can see it come to life, I’ll have no regrets in this life."

"Wang Yi, are you modifying this giant beast race warship?" the master craftsman beside Master Qianling asked, his excitement evident.

"Yes, as soon as Master Sha Diao figures out the last key alloy spirit ore, the entire giant beast race warship can transform into two states."

"In the demon realm, it can take the form of a serpent-shaped giant beast warship, and in the Human Realm, it can transform into a Star Ship. And that’s just the beginning of its wonders."

Wang Yi’s words made the master craftsman beside Master Qianling’s eyes light up as he gazed eagerly at the beast race serpent-shaped warship.

The Star Ship represented the pinnacle of artifact crafting, a masterpiece of master craftsman techniques. No master craftsman could resist the allure of modifying one.

"Second Grand Elder, I’d like to stay and help Wang Yi modify this giant beast race warship," said the master craftsman Sun Daoling beside Master Qianling, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

"You two are treasures of Qianling Sect. If you both stay at the Hidden Spirit Sect, I’m afraid the Grand Elder will have my head when I return," Master Qianling said with a hint of frustration.

The cultivation world’s space was sealed. While Star Ships could descend upon the various fairy cities, the time and cost were too much for most sects to bear.

This led every sect to hoard their talented artifact crafters and alchemists like precious treasures.
