Chapter 486: The Heavenly Sword Does Not Harm

The girl in the purple dress stood quietly, her hair cascading like a waterfall and tied with a single purple ribbon. A black veil covered her face, revealing only her fair forehead and starry eyes. Even her hands were concealed by purple gloves, leaving little of her visible.

Yet those starry eyes were impossibly clear, devoid of any emotion, remaining tranquil even as they faced the white-clad youth.

What startled Ye Yun was how closely the girl’s eyes resembled those from the illusion he’d witnessed—similarly pure, simple, and childlike in their innocence. He’d never imagined encountering them in reality, having believed they existed only in dreams or visions tied to that mysterious young couple.

Jun Ruolan also froze, stunned. She hadn’t expected the thief who stole the seed of the mysteries of thunder to remain hidden here using a spatial array rather than fleeing. Though unsure how Ye Yun had detected it, her heart raced—the seed she’d coveted for so long was finally within reach.

“Hand over the seed of the mysteries of thunder.”

The voice was icy, devoid of warmth, sharp as blades of frost.

Ye Yun’s brow twitched. That cold tone felt familiar—no, it was unmistakable. It belonged to Du Jianyin, the youth who’d clashed with him repeatedly.

“Du Jianyin?” Ye Yun murmured in disbelief.

The white-clad youth turned slightly, a glint flashing in his eyes. “Ye Yun. You’re here too?”

Ye Yun frowned. Though Du Jianyin spoke casually, his presence loomed like a blade honed to pierce heavens and split mountains. The boy was a genius among geniuses, having warped the Sword Path into something unorthodox yet devastating. While true swordsmanship embodied righteousness, Du Jianyin’s path was twisted, lethal—a strike from him meant death.

Ignoring Jun Ruolan, Du Jianyin fixed his gaze on the purple-clad girl. “Hand. It. Over.”

She met his stare, her voice ethereal, as if the world itself hushed to hear it. “It’s mine.”

She opened her gloved palm, revealing a dark purple seed spinning lazily, emitting a soft purple light.

The seed of the mysteries of thunder—the heart of the Thunder Spirit Beast, the treasure Jun Ruolan had desperately sought—now lay exposed.

“Refuse, and you die.” Du Jianyin stepped forward, his pristine, jade-like sword humming as the surrounding Sea of Thunder recoiled. Within moments, lightning vanished for a hundred zhang, leaving only barren ground.

Ye Yun’s eyes narrowed. He hadn’t anticipated Du Jianyin’s sword intent growing strong enough to repel the thunder itself. While Ye Yun’s own mastery was profound, his path lacked such arrogance.

“How tiresome. Whoever claims it owns it,” the girl said flatly, her tone edged with irritation.

“No. The strong claim it.” Du Jianyin advanced, his aura sharpening into a colossal blade looming overhead.

“It’s mine,” she retorted, scowling.

“Then perish!”

Du Jianyin’s sword slashed upward, a white sword arc streaking toward her chest.

“Stop!” Ye Yun shouted, but too late—the attack had already struck.

Yet instead of blood, there was… nothing. The girl stood unharmed, her robes intact. The sword arc had passed through her, leaving no wound.

Du Jianyin stared, stunned. That strike could slay any cultivator below the sixth level of the Golden Core stage, ensuring total annihilation. Even Ye Yun doubted he could withstand it.

“How?” Du Jianyin demanded.

The girl tilted her head. “Your sword was strong, but it can’t hurt me.”

“Impossible! Only Golden Core cultivators enter Thunder Falls Valley. How did you evade it?”

“Evade? I didn’t need to.” Her voice chimed like a songbird.

Snarling, Du Jianyin leaped, his sword trembling as countless arcs coalesced into a massive heavenly sword. It crashed toward her, brimming with malice and the pinnacle of his peak Golden Core power—a strike unmatched in the valley.

The heavenly sword struck… and dissipated. The girl remained untouched.

“Your Sword Path,” she said coolly, “is wrong.”
