Chapter 490: Yin and Yang of the Five Elements

Xu Fan’s declaration of "Opening the heavens and earth" led him to a profound meditation that lasted two full years atop Bear Two’s cloud.

During this period, the disciples of the Hidden Spirit Sect knew that if they wished to see the Grand Elder, they only needed to glance upwards.

There he was, perched on the largest of Bear Two’s clouds.

In the sky, Wang Xiangchi sat cross-legged in the air, not far from Xu Fan.

"Master must have uncovered some extraordinary divine power; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to meditate for so long," Wang Xiangchi thought.

He produced a spherical object and gently manipulated it.

A soft, soothing melody began to resonate across the sky.

Xu Fan slowly opened his eyes and saw Wang Xiangchi waiting patiently beside him.

"Master, you’re awake!" Wang Xiangchi exclaimed with joy.

"How long have I been meditating here?" Xu Fan inquired.

"Master, you’ve been in meditation for two years," Wang Xiangchi replied.

"Only two years?" Xu Fan mused.

Having exceptional talent also posed its challenges; he couldn’t meditate for millennia like others might.

"Master, what have you discovered during these two years?" Wang Xiangchi asked eagerly.

As Xu Fan awoke, a group of disciples quickly gathered around him.

"The inception of the heavens and earth, the yin and yang of the five elements," Xu Fan explained with a smile.

He gently opened his palm, where a black-and-white flower, Little Flower Deer, began to bloom, reached its peak beauty, then withered away into dust.

"This is the great law I’ve comprehended; do you understand?" Xu Fan asked, looking at his four disciples.

"It’s too profound; we can’t grasp it," Xu Gang admitted first.

Xu Fan then scattered the dust into the sky, where it transformed into the purest Five Elements of Spiritual Energy.

"If you can’t understand now, I’ll teach you gradually; there’s no hurry," Xu Fan assured them.

With that, Xu Fan led his disciples back to the Hidden Spirit Sect.

"I’ve gained some insight into the yin and yang and the origins of the five elements," Xu Fan shared.

"I’ll organize my thoughts and soon give a teaching to all the sect’s disciples," he announced.

"Thank you, Master," the four disciples said, bowing respectfully.

After the disciples departed, Xu Fan sat cross-legged in his courtyard, a mystical aura surrounding him.

"Opening the heavens and earth, the genesis of all spirits, truly wondrous," he reflected.

"The Five Elements Technique can now be upgraded to a new version," Xu Fan marveled.

As Xu Fan envisioned the world in its nascent state, he was transported into a magical realm.

He felt like an embryo before the birth of a world, nurturing yin and yang and the five elements, all encapsulated within this tiny embryo.

It then took root, sprouted, and evolved into a perfect small world.

At that moment, he became the consciousness of the small world, governing all its laws.

As Xu Fan reflected on his recent enlightenment, Sha Diao entered his courtyard.

“Grand Elder, the artifact alloy you requested has been successfully prepared,” Sha Diao announced.

“Success!” Xu Fan exclaimed with joy.

“It was completed six months ago. Grape has now finished producing all the necessary artifact alloy.”

“We’re just waiting for your command to proceed with the critical step of transforming the Star Ship,” Sha Diao said eagerly.

“Grape, you may begin the final transformation,” Xu Fan commanded.

“Understood,” Grape replied.

“Grand Elder, will our Hidden Spirit Sect soon have the capability to build our own Star Ships?” Sha Diao inquired, aware that Xu Fan could craft the essential spiritual energy core and several key components.

“We could, but we lack sufficient spirit ore. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have to modify the giant beast race warships.”

Xu Fan considered the previous Star Ships to be mere scraps. Using such precious artifact spirit ore to create ships that only fire shells while drifting through the Extreme Void Domain seemed like a waste.

If he ever amassed enough spirit ore to build Star Ships, he would ensure that both human Star Ships and giant beast race warships understood one concept clearly.

That concept is dimensional strike.

“True, building a Star Ship requires hundreds of millions of pounds of spirit ore.”

“Each Star Ship represents centuries, if not millennia, of accumulation by top sects to purchase one from the Heavenly Refining Sect,” Sha Diao noted.

“Our Hidden Spirit Sect’s foundation is still too weak,” Xu Fan lamented.

“Just modifying the various beast race serpent-shaped warships and crafting the One Hundred and Eight Artifacts set for my comrades has already depleted half our resources. Imagine the cost of a Star Ship that spans thousands of feet.”

As Xu Fan spoke, he recalled a famous saying from his past life.

“You study hard for ten years, but how can that compare to the accumulation of a family with a hundred-year legacy?”

In the cultivation world, it’s not just about a hundred years; families and sects with ten-thousand-year legacies are commonplace.

“From now on, let the Spirit Cut Elder focus on mining. Perhaps we’ll stumble upon a super-large Spirit Ore Star one day.”

“Let’s hope so,” Sha Diao said with a smile.

Sha Diao lingered a bit longer in Xu Fan’s courtyard before hurrying off to the site where the serpent-shaped warship was being transformed.

“Grape, when do you expect the transformation to be completed?”

“With the addition of four beast clan master craftsmen, the transformation of the serpent-shaped giant beast warship has accelerated significantly. It should be completed in three years,” Grape reported.

“Three years, that’s quite fast.”

Xu Fan waved his hand, enveloping the courtyard in a protective shield, and then continued to delve into the great laws he had comprehended over the past two years.

Three days later, Xu Fan appeared in the underground space.

“Entity, what insights have you gained after two years of enlightenment?” the first clone asked while crafting an artifact.

The second clone also looked at Xu Fan.

“Aren’t I here to sync data?”

Xu Fan waved his hand, and two orbs of spiritual light merged into the first and second clones.

“The Yin and Yang of the Five Elements, fascinating! This will make artifact crafting much easier in the future,” the first clone said, as the phoenix spirit fire in his hand emitted a joyful chirp.

The phoenix spirit fire in the second clone’s hand responded similarly.

“Fire source spiritual energy and wood source spiritual energy, impressive. No wonder you’re my clones,” Xu Fan praised.

He sensed that with these two sources of energy, the power of the phoenix spirit fire in the first and second clones had more than doubled.

“Entity, in two more years, we’ll be ready to deliver,” the second clone said.

“Speed up; it might not even take two years,” the first clone remarked, looking at the nearly completed Artifacts Set.

“Alright, keep up the good work!” Xu Fan said, then turned and headed toward the secret chamber where Grape’s entity was housed.

He had come mainly to see the world Grape was nurturing.

In the secret chamber containing Grape, Xu Fan stepped through a glowing portal.

“Hey, what are you two doing here?” Xu Fan asked in surprise, seeing the Tianji Turtle and Cloud Flower Deer.

“Master, they entered as soon as the small world could support life,” Grape explained.

“Chirp chirp~” the Cloud Flower Deer nuzzled Xu Fan’s hand.

“You said this place is very comfortable and helps you advance quickly?” Xu Fan asked.

The Cloud Flower Deer nodded.
