Chapter 494
byChapter 494: The Serpent Spirit Ship
"I also managed to bring back five giant beast race warships, all with their control rooms destroyed," Master Qianling said, his face beaming with excitement.
"Third Brother, take a look. If Big Brother had put you in charge of the Star Ship fleet back then, do you think you could have pulled this off?" Master Qianling said proudly to the Third Grand Elder of Qianling Sect.
"Second Brother, don’t get too cocky. While you were out there, it was me and Big Brother holding down the fort here," the Third Grand Elder of Qianling Sect shot back angrily.
"I’ll give you credit for this, but let’s be honest—you’re not exactly Star Ship command material," Master Qianling said, puffing up like a proud rooster.
"Alright, let’s focus on refining the Spirit Ore Star and get it properly sorted and stored."
The three Grand Elders of Qianling Sect returned to the Taichi Great Hall.
"After some thought, I’ve decided to trade these five giant beast race warships for a ready-made Star Ship from the Heavenly Refining Sect."
"As for the Spirit Ore Star we brought back, I think I’ll hand it over to the Grand Elder of the Hidden Spirit Sect and have him help craft a new Star Ship," Master Qianling said, stroking his chin.
Originally, he planned to use the five giant beast race warships and the Spirit Ore Star to get two or three Star Ships from the Heavenly Refining Sect. But after reconsidering, he figured it’d be better to let the Grand Elder of the Hidden Spirit Sect craft a new Star Ship, which would likely outperform the ones they currently had.
"I think Second Brother’s idea makes sense," the Third Grand Elder of Qianling Sect nodded.
"From what we’ve heard, the Grand Elder has had the capability to develop such Star Ships for a while now—they just didn’t have enough spirit ore," the Grand Elder added.
"Aren’t they in the middle of modifying a giant beast race warship right now?"
"Once the modifications are complete, Second Brother can go inspect the results. If it meets our expectations, we’ll send over the Spirit Ore Star," the Grand Elder of Qianling Sect said.
"Big Brother always has the best plans," Master Qianling and the Third Grand Elder agreed, nodding.
…………
Over at the Hidden Spirit Sect, Xu Fan, who had some free time, joined the team working on modifying the giant beast race warship.
He noticed that without the leadership of Number One and Number Two Avatars, the master craftsmen were producing a lot of defective parts. Sometimes, they even tried to install components that didn’t meet the required standards.
Since the avatars were tied up with other tasks, Xu Fan had to step in personally.
"Iron Mischief Monkey, your part’s precision is off. Go back and refine it some more."
"Fox One, the heat’s too high—turn it down a bit."
"Fox Three, that part needs to be forged with Yin spirit fire. Switch to a different spirit fire, quick."
"Mountain Spirit master craftsman, do I need to give you a lesson on fire control? You can’t even maintain a consistent heat!"
After a flurry of instructions, the master craftsmen gradually got into the groove.
The two master craftsmen from Qianling Sect who were observing were amazed. They couldn’t believe how Xu Fan could oversee the entire operation while still crafting. It was a level of skill they doubted they’d ever reach.
Three months later, after finishing a part, Xu Fan looked up at the two sections of the giant beast race warship being assembled in the sky.
"Never mind, I’ll just keep overseeing everything," Xu Fan sighed. He had hoped to offer some guidance and then step back, but after spotting several issues with the modifications, he realized he couldn’t leave just yet.
"Looks like for big projects like this, I still need Number One and Number Two Avatars to take the lead."
With that, Xu Fan dove back into the work of modifying the giant beast race warship.
As the sun and moon cycled, spring passed and autumn arrived; in the blink of an eye, three years had gone by.
The giant beast race serpent-shaped warship and the 108 sets of Artifacts Set for his good brothers had all been successfully refined.
On the plains behind the main peak of the Hidden Spirit Sect, a Star Ship, resembling an interstellar spaceship, quietly rested there.
Xu Fan clapped his hands and pointed at the Star Ship.
In an instant, the entire ship seemed to come to life; the protective Formation on the surface lit up with spiritual light and then gradually faded into the hull.
After the transformation, the Star Ship measured over ten thousand zhang in length, and after becoming a giant beast race warship, its length extended to thirty thousand zhang, slightly shorter than before.
The ship displayed a sleek black color, exuding a strong sense of technology.
"This is how a Star Ship should look," Xu Fan said.
Number One and Number Two Avatars appeared beside Xu Fan, currently enjoying their vacation.
"Main Body, when will you take us up for a spin? I want to see what’s different about the transformed Star Ship?" Number One Avatar asked with a smile.
"If you want to go for a ride, we’ll take turns later; no need to rush just yet."
"Once Grape’s clone finishes loading, we can take off," Xu Fan replied with a smile.
During these three years, Xu Fan felt as though he had returned to his previous working days, with non-stop activity.
"Grape’s clone is expected to take a day for loading, so you all can do what you need to do," Xu Fan added.
"If you want to go up, wait until the second or third time," Xu Fan said before returning to his courtyard.
He hadn’t had a good rest in over three years.
The next day, Xu Fan woke up and went to the place where the Star Ship was docked.
At that moment, the area around the Star Ship was crowded with disciples of the Hidden Spirit Sect.
"Grand Elder, is this the transformed Star Ship?"
"Grand Elder, why is the deck of this Star Ship sealed?"
"Grand Elder, when are we flying to the Extreme Void Domain next?"
The Hidden Spirit Sect Disciples first greeted Xu Fan and then couldn’t help but ask questions.
"This is our Hidden Spirit Sect’s new Star Ship, the Serpent Spirit Ship."
"We will take off to the Extreme Void Domain in three days. Disciples interested can register with Grape directly," Xu Fan said with a smile, looking at the disciples below.
"Grape, open the door of the Serpent Spirit Ship so the disciples can take a look," Xu Fan instructed.
"Understood."
The Serpent Spirit Ship slowly opened a door several meters wide on its side.
At that moment, Spirit Cut appeared beside Xu Fan and excitedly said, "Grand Elder, did Grape tell me that the Star Ship’s data is all true?"
"Of course it is; in three days, we’ll find out when we go to the Extreme Void Domain," Xu Fan replied with a smile.
"Grand Elder, does this Star Ship have a teleportation function?" Spirit Cut asked curiously.
"Of course! What if we run into that giant turtle again?" Xu Fan said.
This time, Xu Fan also strengthened the Teleportation Formation at the bottom of the Star Ship. In case of an emergency, only two node artifacts need to be activated.
Xu Fan installed eight of them all at once, which were removed from the Formation nodes at the bottom of Hidden Spirit Island.
"So can we navigate this Star Ship deep into the Extreme Void Domain?" Spirit Cut asked with a smile.
"Yes, this Star Ship performs significantly better than the last one and can pass through barriers deep within the Extreme Void Domain," Xu Fan said, looking at the ship.
This Star Ship officially became the first one owned by the Hidden Spirit Sect.
As for Su Rantian’s damaged Star Ship, it would have to stay put for now; Xu Fan would repay her once he had the strength in the future.
