Chapter 494: Sword of the Thunder God

Lightning gathered out of thin air, blocking the blood-red battle spear inches from Ye Yun’s chest.

The blood-red battle spear radiated overwhelming power, yet remained frozen three inches away, unable to advance. Lightning crackled as crimson energy erupted.

The two forces collided mid-air, erupting in blinding brilliance. At its peak, the light burst like fading fireworks before vanishing completely.

Jun Ruolan gripped her spear while Ye Yun’s lightning barrier dissipated. Their clash ended in stalemate.

Jun Ruolan’s face hardened, eyes flashing with regret. If her strike failed, subsequent attempts would prove futile.

Her plans unraveled. She’d schemed to enter Thunder Falls Valley under the Misty Sect’s name, only to find Ye Yun in the treasure area. Worse, he’d fully absorbed the seed of the mysteries of thunder she coveted.

Planting her spear beside her, she glared at Ye Yun. The crimson weapon contrasted sharply with her delicate features, creating surreal beauty.

"Senior Sister Jun," Ye Yun said gently, "Must fellow disciples fight so bitterly?"

Her brows furrowed. "You promised to find the thunder seed for a million top-grade spirit stones, yet stole its power! How dare you accuse me?"

Ye Yun shrugged. "We both know you’d have killed me afterward. Don’t pretend otherwise."

"A broken pact demands consequences." Her voice turned icy. "I’m from Moon Goddess Palace, not Misty Sect. Do you grasp what you’ve provoked?"

Ye Yun laughed. "I care not for your origins. The seed’s power is mine. Will you drag me back to milk it dry? Then we fight to the death."

Jun Ruolan’s cheek twitched. She knew his ruthlessness – the errand boy who rose to outer disciple in Heavenly Sword Sect through grit and cunning.

"Then perish!" she shrieked. Her spear soared, swelling to ten zhang length. Bloodlight dyed the sky crimson for hundreds zhang.

"Spear Shatters Heaven!"

Her clear voice pierced clouds as crimson threads erupted from her body, draining her complexion to paper-white as they fed the weapon. The Sea of Thunder churned violently, thunder retreating from the bloodlight’s domain.

The colossal spear descended like divine punishment. No seventh-level Golden Core practitioner could survive this – even first-level Foundation Establishment experts might perish.

Ye Yun’s hands blurred into remnant shadows, lightning dancing between fingers. As the spear approached, time seemed to slow. Twelve thousand combat variations flashed through his mind.

He stepped forward, not back. Snatching coalesced lightning, he hurled it skyward.

An ancient sword materialized overhead – purple-black blade crackling with electricity. Heaven’s thunder converged, oppressive might blanketing the world.

"Sword of the Thunder God!" Ye Yun roared.

The ten-zhang lightning blade rose majestically to meet the falling spear.

BOOM!

The collision’s shockwave ravaged the landscape. The blood-spear shattered into crimson fragments, scattering like macabre fireworks.

Jun Ruolan vomited blood, staring in disbelief. "Impossible! The Thundercloud Lightning Sword’s fourth form… can’t be!"

Another blood cough followed. Despair filled her eyes as realization struck – she’d lost Thunder Falls Valley’s contest.
