Chapter 495
byChapter 495: The Meeting
"What is it?" Greed picked up a piece of wild boar meat to chew on. "It seems like this matter might be even more serious than going to that valley."
"Are you interested in going to the other side?" Jesse asked.
"The other side?" Greed initially seemed confused, but then stared wide-eyed and said, "You mean, to Kalimdor?"
"Yes," Jesse said, "There is a group of elves now, the Reliquary that bought my command letter before is hiring me to go to Kalimdor to find someone. Even if we don’t find them, just getting a clue can earn us dozens of gold coins, Greed. But now they want to place an Elf Ranger on me… to track magical traces, so we can’t do without him. If that guy also likes gold coins, then I have to split half with him. If you join us, then I only need to give him one-third, okay?"
"Can’t Vereesa come?" Greed asked, "That woman doesn’t really care about money."
"Vereesa probably can’t come," Jesse said.
"Why?" Greed asked, "I don’t believe she wouldn’t want to come herself."
"Probably because she needs to resist trolls," Jesse said, "Anyway, someone doesn’t want her to come, so don’t worry about that too much, just tell me if you want to come or not."
"Of course, I want to!" Greed said, "Explore the legendary mysterious land, how can I not want to? Plus, there’s gold to earn… Anyway, I don’t have much to do here, when are we leaving?"
"After we return from Karazhan," Jesse said, "I need to make some preparations and explain some things during this time. This trip may take a long time, even on the way to Kalimdor by boat, it may take several weeks, which means at least half a year for this trip."
"But the reward is dozens of gold coins," Greed said, "That’s enough."
"The condition is that we can really find clues, otherwise they might only be willing to pay for our travel expenses," Jesse added, "So you need to be mentally prepared."
"Consider it a free trip out." Greed said, "I’m okay with it."
Jesse nodded.
But what he was more concerned about was whether or not to bring those two demons, especially Molofeel.
If he didn’t bring them, he couldn’t rest assured about The Slaughtered Lamb. if Molofeel was there, at least it would prevent any chaos from demon summoning. Even if this group of people planned to summon a Demon Guard without him, Molofeel should be able to handle it.
After all, with their abilities, the summoned Demon Guard would definitely not be stronger than that Orc Warlock.
But Molofeel… is a powerful henchman who doesn’t require payment. Heading to a strange and vast continent, facing a demonologist who has lived for thousands of years, having Molofeel as a helper who is skilled in dealing with demons would greatly increase their safety.
Would Greed and the elf companion accept having a succubus around?
"After this meal, I want to introduce you to someone, Greed." Jesse scratched his mouth a bit nervously, "I think it’s not good to keep hiding it for so long."
Greed laughed and pointed at Jesse with an empty wine glass, saying, "Ah, finally! So, you’re planning to tell me about the succubus, right?"
"You knew all along?" Jesse asked, surprised.
"Is she really a succubus?" Greed said, stunned, "I was just joking."
Jesse slapped himself on the face, saying, "It’s a succubus, sorry, Greed."
"Damn it…" Greed said, "You’re following the footsteps of those Black Magic troublemakers in Shadowforge City, not missing a beat, Jesse Seso!"
He sighed, resting his head on the table, then lifted it and said softly, "Well, since we already have one demon, what harm can one more do? Let’s go take a look."
Greed followed Jesse to their new home in the north Mage Quarter, glancing around the alleyways, "This place looks a bit harder to find than where you used to live. You didn’t move here just to hide that demon, did you?"
"I summoned that demon a long time ago," Jesse said as they climbed the stairs.
"When?" asked the dwarf.
"Within a few weeks of returning from Lordaeron," Jesse replied.
"Are you talking about the time we went to Lordaeron together?"
"Yes."
"Goodness gracious… How did you manage to hide for so long? I’ve noticed a strange scent on you since then, could it be the smell of a succubus? Ah! Indeed, I wondered where I had smelled that scent before when I was killing those succubus at the Dark Portal, turns out it was you, you troublemaker… At least now I don’t have to worry about succubus corrupting your mind, maybe it’s already corrupted… But it’s too late to say anything now."
Jesse sheepishly swallowed and said, "Sorry."
Approaching the rented house, Jesse reached for the door, while Greed nervously stared at the door.
Upon entering the room, he peeked into the empty room, gripping the door frame, and asked, "Where’s the demon? Come out!"
Saenor popped up and said, "Master, why did you bring this dwarf home?!"
Greed startled and raised his fist towards Saenor, then sighed, "It’s just this guy, darn it, you scared me!"
Jesse glanced around the room, not noticing the succubus, and tried to say, "Molofeel… can you…"
Greed saw the big red sword in the room and said, "I saw two tall Demon Guard captains wearing heavy armor near the Dark Portal, protecting the Storm Altar with this kind of red sword. How did you get this?"
"Of course, it’s because of me," Molofeel suddenly appeared behind the dwarf. Greed turned around with a surprised "Ah" and tried to punch, but Molofeel easily dodged the attack and appeared behind him again.
Greed quickly turned around to look at the succubus, took a breath in the gap, and then coughed unnaturally.
"No need to be so nervous," Jesse said, stepping into the middle.
Saenor immediately shouted, "Let me introduce you two, Mr. Greed Thunderfist, a clumsy fellow who ran down from the mountain, and Miss Molofeel, a masochist who has no limits!"
"Molofeel," Greed glanced at Jesse and said, "sounds like the name of a waitress in the Shadowforge City bar, who is also a succubus."
"You’ve been to the Dark Iron bar?" Jesse asked.
"You know the bar is called ‘Dark Iron Bar’?" Greed replied with a question.
"It’s normal to have heard of it," Jesse said.
Greed couldn’t resist looking at the succubus and said, "I heard about it too. How did a Dwarf Wildhammer like me end up in Shadowforge City?"
"You can’t tell Eredun apart," Molofeel said. "All the names of the Sayaad sound similar, so it’s normal."
