Chapter 495: Departure

Three days later.

Xu Fan, along with several disciples and more than a thousand students, boarded the Serpent Spirit Ship and headed towards the Extreme Void Domain.

At that moment, the Serpent Spirit Ship was performing various extreme maneuvers in the sky.

Spirit Cut excitedly piloted the Serpent Spirit Ship.

"Light, fast, and the key is that it’s especially comfortable to handle," Spirit Cut said, placing one hand on the steering console.

"Let’s go, let’s check out the Extreme Void Domain and test the maximum speed," Xu Fan said while admiring the scenery outside from the control room.

He had equipped the Serpent Spirit Ship with a stabilization system, so even though the ship soared spirally into the sky, the people inside felt not a single jolt; they only saw the scenery outside spinning.

"Okay~"

As the Serpent Spirit Ship performed various extreme maneuvers, it lightly swished its tail and surged towards the Extreme Void Domain, picking up speed.

"This Serpent Spirit Ship is at least twice as fast as that Star Ship ahead," Spirit Cut said, feeling the ship’s speed.

"Of course, it’s designed based on gas dynamics. Well, its spiritual energy core is powerful," Xu Fan replied, knowing that they wouldn’t understand if he explained too much, making it a hassle.

"I told you, the more power, the faster it can go," Spirit Cut enthused, like a young man who’s just touched a luxury car, thinking about the difference between a four-cylinder and a twelve-cylinder engine.

At that moment, the disciples on the Serpent Spirit Ship all curiously looked out of the crystal windows at the scenery outside.

"This spaceship is much faster than the last one," the middle-aged butcher said with a smile as he gazed out the window.

"If the sky were a battlefield, some sword techniques might not apply," Following Shadows lightly remarked, watching the scenery outside.

"Stop thinking only about battle every day; in the blink of an eye, you’re already in your thirties. When will you start a family?" the middle-aged butcher said with a laugh.

In reality, he was already in his fifties; without cultivating, he would feel like an old man right now, but thanks to cultivation, he could enjoy life for another hundred years or so.

"Getting married and having children would only affect my combat ability," Following Shadows shook his head and replied, wanting to pursue swordsmanship throughout his life.

"You’re so outstanding; your children would turn out great."

"In the future, you and your son charging across the battlefield would make for a wonderful tale."

"That would also allow you to find a passing on for your swordsmanship," the middle-aged butcher patted Following Shadows on the shoulder and said.

He knew that even though Following Shadows appeared cold on the outside, inside, he was a simple-hearted child with only swordsmanship on his mind.

A thoughtful look appeared in Following Shadows’ eyes as it seemed he seriously contemplated the issue of passing down his swordsmanship.

"The little girl Xiao Su who often goes on missions with us has been quite fond of you for a long time."

"If you’re willing, I can tell you about it," the middle-aged butcher said like a concerned father, worrying about Following Shadows.

"Xiao Su?"

Following Shadows recalled the girl who often trailed behind him, calling him “Big Brother Following Shadows” and saying he was so great.

"She is a cultivator with a lifespan measured in thousands of years; I shouldn’t disturb her with my mere hundred years," Following Shadows reflected before responding.

"Xiao Su already likes you; why are you being so pretentious?"

"Don’t worry about it; I’ll handle this matter for you when we get back. You just need to act like the groom," the middle-aged butcher said.

In his eyes, love knew no boundaries. If you liked me and I liked you, that was all that mattered.

Following Shadows pondered for a moment and then nodded.

By now, the Serpent Spirit Ship had already reached the Extreme Void Domain.

"With this speed and power, we’ll have no trouble exploring the depths of the Extreme Void Domain," Spirit Cut said excitedly.

"If we want to go, we’ll go. I’ve already informed Grape, so it’s fine if we spend half a year or even a year exploring," Xu Fan said with a smile. After being in the sect for so long, he felt the urge to venture out.

"Sounds perfect," Spirit Cut replied with a grin.

"Before we head deeper into the Extreme Void Domain, let’s pick up my disciple and Elder Su first," Xu Fan said after some thought.

Li Xingci had been away from the Hidden Spirit Sect for several years, and Xu Fan genuinely missed him after not seeing him for so long.

"Alright, let’s head to the Human Race Navigation Route," Spirit Cut said as he activated the Serpent Spirit Ship’s second maximum speed.

At the Human Race Navigation Route Stars, the Serpent Spirit Ship docked at the spot designated by the Elder Council’s cultivators.

A burly man clad in heavy armor was already there to greet them.

"Senior Shan Chen, it’s been a while," Xu Fan greeted with a smile.

"Please, don’t call me senior. With your status as the Grand Elder of the Hidden Spirit Sect and a top-tier master craftsman, I can’t accept such a title," Shan Chen replied, waving his hand with a smile.

"I’ve already contacted your disciple Li Xingci through internal channels; they’re on their way here."

"They’ll be able to teleport over shortly," Shan Chen explained.

"The teleportation formation is still operational?" Xu Fan asked in surprise.

"It’s only capable of small-scale teleportations, and it requires someone with high-level permissions in the Elder Council to activate it," Shan Chen clarified.

"That makes sense. It’s no surprise the Elder Council has the means to bypass spatial seals," Xu Fan nodded.

"Come on, let me treat the Grand Elder to a meal," Shan Chen offered.

Thanks to their connection, Spirit Cut always sought out Shan Chen whenever he visited the Human Race Navigation Route Stars.

Shan Chen had also managed to order several artifacts from the Hidden Spirit Sect at a bargain price, all crafted by the beast clan master craftsmen within the sect.

"Then I’ll gladly accept your offer," Xu Fan said with a smile.

The group soon arrived at the most luxurious restaurant on the stars.

As Shan Chen led Xu Fan through the bustling hallways, the communication artifact at his waist kept beeping incessantly. Eventually, the noise became too much, and Shan Chen turned it off.

"Senior Shan Chen, you seem to be quite busy," Xu Fan joked.

"They all want me to introduce them to you," Shan Chen replied.

"Understood," Xu Fan nodded.

After enjoying a lavish feast at the restaurant, the group moved to a tea house to relax.

"Grand Elder, I was wondering if your sect’s master craftsmen have any availability?"

"There are many people here eager to commission custom artifacts from you, and they’re offering top prices," Shan Chen said while sipping his tea.

Xu Fan thought about the nearly empty treasury and realized it was time to replenish their stock of spirit ore and other rare treasures.

"Our sect’s master craftsmen still have some time and can take on a few artifact crafting commissions."

"If Senior Shan Chen has any friends in need, feel free to recommend them," Xu Fan nodded.

Xu Fan then produced a jade slip containing a list of the artifact-level spirit ores his sect was currently lacking.

"The fees can be calculated based on the spirit ores listed here," Xu Fan said with a smile.

Shan Chen’s eyes lit up with delight upon seeing the jade slip; it meant he could act as an agent for the Hidden Spirit Sect.

"Thank you, Grand Elder," Shan Chen said with a smile.

"No need for thanks. Consider it me asking a favor of you, Senior Shan Chen," Xu Fan said as he handed the jade slip to Shan Chen.

Just then, the door to the tea house opened, and Li Xingci walked in with his family of three.

"Greetings, Master (Master Ancestor)."

Li Xingci and Li Chufan bowed, their eyes brimming with excitement, like children who hadn’t seen their parents in a long time.
