Chapter 519
byChapter 519: The Giant Palm Covers the Sky
Ling Xudu stood firm, unshaken by The Hand of the Great Wilderness. A blazing fighting spirit erupted from him instead of fear.
“So this is The Hand of the Great Wilderness. Truly formidable. To unearth such a skill in the desolate western desert must be your greatest trump card.” Ling Xudu grinned, stepping forward with an aura as towering as a mountain.
The crowd below murmured in confusion. Even Shu Anshi briefly showed puzzlement before his expression hardened like iron. No trick would weaken his resolve to crush his opponent.
“Let’s test the limits of this ‘Great Wilderness’ technique.” Ling Xudu leaped upward, hovering midair as purple mist billowed behind him.
“Sword, come!”
He roared, snatching a purple long sword materialized from the mist.
“Phantom Destruction!”
The sword and Ling Xudu vanished. Three identical Ling Xudu clones suddenly flanked Shu Anshi—left, right, and behind—each raising a purple blade skyward. Violet energy erupted from the swords, shooting upward.
But it didn’t stop. The energy surged, and the three clones vanished again. In a blink, nine Ling Xudu figures materialized overhead.
The nine clones lunged, encircling Shu Anshi. Their swords converged into a single divine rainbow, crackling like lightning as it slashed downward.
The strike’s power defied reason, far surpassing Fourth Level Nascent Soul strength. Even Fifth Level elders watching felt a chill—they doubted they could survive such an attack.
Yet Shu Anshi remained calm. Not a flicker of fear crossed his face.
“The Hand of the Great Wilderness.”
His soft exhale boomed like thunder.
The colossal palm materialized again, sweeping casually toward the descending rainbow.
Boom!
A great crash shook the arena as palm and rainbow collided. Both attacks froze midair before dissolving into smoke.
A draw?
Ye Yun and the spectators gaped. How could this clash between Shu Anshi and Ling Xudu end evenly?
But as the smoke cleared, another massive hand emerged from the fading light and shadow.
“The Hand of the Great Wilderness.”
Shu Anshi’s gentle tone carried thunderous weight.
The third palm struck without hesitation, needing no buildup.
Ling Xudu’s face paled. He sensed the attack’s crushing power—without his secret techniques, he’d already be defeated.
This made no sense! A peak Golden Core cultivator shouldn’t have enough true qi for three such strikes. The first two should’ve drained Shu Anshi completely.
“Impossible!” Ling Xudu hissed. Even he couldn’t unleash attacks of this magnitude consecutively. What sorcery fueled Shu Anshi?
As doubt gripped him, Shu Anshi’s voice echoed across the arena once more:
“The Hand of the Great Wilderness.”
In an instant, seven or eight massive palm prints materialized in the sky, descending with overwhelming force.
Shu Anshi had unleashed seven or eight strikes in a single breath, each wave of energy crashing forward like relentless tides.
Ling Xudu’s face finally paled completely, his heart filled with terror and despair. No matter how wildly he speculated, he couldn’t comprehend how Shu Anshi could produce so many Hands of the Great Wilderness – even his own Fourth Level Nascent Soul stage cultivation couldn’t achieve this.
"Vajra Tower!"
Ling Xudu roared desperately. Golden light erupted around him as the ethereal figure of a golden pagoda enveloped his body.
The Hands of the Great Wilderness smashed down violently against the golden tower’s projection, creating thunderous impacts.
The shimmering pagoda trembled violently, appearing on the verge of collapse. After enduring seven or eight consecutive strikes, the devastating palms gradually dissipated, failing to breach the Vajra Tower’s defense.
Ling Xudu exhaled shakily. Without the protection of this treasure, he realized he’d have been crushed by the relentless assault. Noticing Shu Anshi’s motionless stance, a vicious grin twisted his lips – clearly his opponent had exhausted all energy, never anticipating the Vajra Tower’s defensive might.
"Is this all you’ve got, Shu Anshi?" Ling Xudu sneered from within his golden sanctuary, eyes gleaming maliciously. "Then it’s my turn!"
His hands quivered before his chest, luminous threads shooting from fingertips to form glowing runes in the air.
Ding Qian and fellow Divine Grace Palace disciples watched in stunned silence. Cold sweat drenched the Demon Suppression Peak disciples – they’d always believed their faction surpassed Absolute Heart Peak in overall strength, particularly among younger members. Yan Rushui stood little chance against Tian Yunzi, but they’d considered other Absolute Heart disciples negligible threats.
This perception had begun crumbling when Ye Yun – a mere newcomer – forced them to nearly unleash killing moves during their last encounter. Now witnessing Shu Anshi nearly defeat a Fourth Level Nascent Soul expert with one technique, their confidence shattered completely.
"How… how is he this powerful?" whispered a trembling disciple.
"That palm technique – I’d be vaporized instantly!"
"We completely underestimated Absolute Heart’s younger generation. Shu Anshi alone could challenge us all!"
"Don’t forget Kun Huazi’s prowess," another muttered. "And Zhuge Chong deliberately suppresses his Golden Core stage cultivation – once that seal breaks…"
"The real mystery is Tian Yunzi’s new disciple," someone interjected. "Ye Yun jumped from Foundation Establishment stage four to its pinnacle in ten days within Thunder Falls Valley! Unheard of progression!"
As anxious whispers spread through the crowd, Ling Xudu suddenly froze mid-incantation. An icy dread crawled up his spine as Shu Anshi’s calm voice echoed:
"Hand of the Great Wilderness."
The right palm lifted gently.
The sky darkened under countless massive palm shadows – dozens materializing simultaneously. Each strike drained tremendous true qi; Ling Xudu himself couldn’t sustain seven such attacks, let alone this overwhelming barrage.
Impossible!" Ling Xudu’s face twisted in horror as the apocalyptic palms descended.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The golden pagoda shattered on the seventh impact. Before Ling Xudu could react, the remaining palms smashed through his incomplete runes and hammered his chest.
CRACK!
Blood sprayed as ribs splintered. The Fourth Level Nascent Soul expert flew backward like broken debris, slamming against the Burning Divine Platform’s invisible barrier before crumpling to the ground.
Shu Anshi stood motionless, hands clasped behind his back. His expression remained tranquil as morning mist, victory requiring neither celebration nor acknowledgement.
