Chapter 549: The Relics of the Absolute Emperor

As the barrier was unleashed, Yun Ye was watching Tian Hou with great interest.

Having accessed the memories, he already knew the full story.

It was almost impossible for a Mystic Realm cultivator to hide anything from him; even if higher-ranked cultivators intervened, it would be useless. He could come and go as he pleased.

The Tian Hou before him didn’t have a significant background either; after two hundred years, he had merely achieved a perfected Mystic Realm being and was preparing for a more solid foundation in the True Realm.

As the barrier spread, Yun Ye was also enveloped and pulled into another space.

At that moment, he was just an ordinary Mystic Realm cultivator, not causing any disturbances to the release of this barrier, allowing the marvelous barrier to unfold safely.

With the transition of space, various information stabilized, and a ruined city gradually emerged in the haze. This city lay within a sea of fire, with houses adorned with fire jade that could absorb high temperatures. However, these fire jades had merged with the buildings; without advanced techniques, removing them would result in destruction.

Once the city was fully manifested, Yun Ye found himself pulled to the ground, beginning to feel gravity and other sensations.

He and the other eight suddenly appeared in a room within the fire jade city; except for him, the others all collapsed and fell unconscious.

“This is not just a simple barrier… This is some kind of power that covers reality; one could say it’s traversing time and space.”

The room was filled with tables and chairs, and Yun Ye casually chose one to sit down, patiently waiting for everyone to wake up.

Traversing time and space burdens both body and soul; even with treasures for protection, distances that are too far can bring about various issues.

Merely falling unconscious could be seen as a testament to their superior traversal skills, especially since most of the practitioners here were servants limited to the law realms.

The masters and protectors, in comparison, were mostly Mystic Realm cultivators. Even the Dragon Ship Owner, Tian Hou, and the heir of the Divine Deer Clan were merely perfected Mystic Realm beings.

Within the territories of the Heavenly Sect and imperial forces, only allowed cultivators could advance to the True Realm, and the number of True Realms was as rare as those in the Nine Star Heavenly Sect.

In contrast, there were no such restrictions for Mystic Realm cultivators; thus, most practitioners were within the Mystic Realm. Moreover, due to an inability to advance, they continuously accumulated power, meaning the foundations of Mystic Realm cultivators within the Heavenly Sect were far from ordinary. Their strength could not be compared to that of less significant places.

Before long, the eight individuals present began to awaken.

Among them were two maidservants, while the rest were ordinary passengers.

The two maidservants reacted simply; after rising, they felt confused and surprised, but since the heir was unharmed, they saw no need to say much, standing silently at Yun Ye’s sides.

"Divine Deer friend, what has happened?"

One of the passengers from the sect spoke up and voiced the question that was on every ordinary passenger’s mind.

They had been extremely anxious about their sudden experience of spatial transformation, and upon looking up, they saw the heir of the Divine Deer sitting beside a chair, his expression dark as he gazed outward. Clearly, these ordinary cultivators were trembling in fear, afraid to voice a complaint.

Only the sect cultivators, with their equal status and backing, dared to speak.

"What has happened? I suddenly arrived here as well."

"This kind of spatial change is not a technique a Mystic Realm cultivator can utilize. Moreover, the talismans gifted by my ancestors have not taken effect. This place is very dangerous, incredibly dangerous—we must understand what has occurred as soon as possible."

Yun Ye said darkly.

He was serious about playing his part, holding a Jade Talisman in hand, energy of the True Realm swirling around him.

The eight individuals exchanged worried glances; the talismans from the True Realm were ineffective?

How could they struggle?

In another corner of the fire jade city, Tian Hou and a charming woman suddenly appeared in the same manner, but they woke up almost instantly, only taking a few seconds.

They clearly had adaptability and were not experiencing this kind of travel for the first time.

"Here we are again… Ha ha ha…"

Tian Hou spread his arms wide, delighting in the air of this place for a moment. For others, it might seem like a hellish land, but for him, it represented countless opportunities—the only chance for him to surpass those prodigies and stand at the peak.

After a few hearty laughs, Tian Hou’s expression turned serious as he said to the enchanting woman beside him, “Jiu Xiao, it’s up to you to handle Long Yuan; only his abilities can find us a way out. Once we open this royal treasure vault, we will have everything!"

"Leave it to me, hee hee. I’m also eagerly anticipating what treasures this Absolute Emperor’s vault hides~~" The alluring woman licked her lips, her eye makeup fiery and her crimson vertically slit pupils revealing her unusual nature.

"Boom!"

A loud explosion echoed.

Tian Hou suddenly looked up. "The Fire Spirits are coming!"

"Hurry, hurry, hurry!"

Nine figures cloaked in robes, their forms blurred, rapidly moved through the streets, dodging the flowing magma giants that wandered aimlessly, burning everything in their path.

These giants destroyed everything around them, but the presence of fire jade limited their movement and neutralized most of the destruction, meaning many buildings still stood.

However, if they sensed the presence of living beings, it would be a different story. The Fire Spirits, a race of demons that barely possessed collective wisdom, would adapt their strategies based on the situation, and under their relentless assault, the fire jade wouldn’t hold out for long.

The nine of them slipped into another building, seeking temporary refuge.

"Fire Spirits? Why are there Fire Spirits here? They were supposed to be extinct! What is going on? Is this some illusion created by Spirit Law?"

Once they were settled, the middle-aged man’s expression twisted in rage.

He was a member of a sect, possessing substantial knowledge of hidden secrets. In the midst of the chase, he had long recognized the infamous race.

If these were indeed Fire Spirits, the situation would become dire, and their chances of survival would be slim!

He couldn’t accept the thought of suffering such a great disaster for no reason. Who was behind this ambush?

"What are Fire Spirits, and what does it mean that they are extinct?" someone asked, bewildered.

A group of people nodded, looking toward the middle-aged man, hoping to gain some insight and increase their chances of survival.

The sect man glanced around the group, a fleeting thought crossing his mind. Given the danger, if he didn’t have some form of protection, he was sure he would meet his end. Since that was the case, it wouldn’t hurt to share some information.

After exchanging a glance with Yun Ye and receiving a nod in approval from him, the sect man said, “Knowing about the Fire Spirits is indeed beneficial for our next actions. Keeping secrets serves no purpose, so let me share what I know.”

Everyone expressed their agreement, “How noble!”

“Fire Spirits are the offspring of demons, the bloodline of the Absolute Emperor, born in imitation of the human race. They are naturally endowed with a certain level of wisdom and strong reproductive capabilities; wherever there is fire and volcanoes, they can rapidly reproduce. Under the rule of the Absolute Emperor, the presence of Fire Spirits quickly spread throughout the Red Heaven.”

“The reason the Fire Spirits are so rampant, apart from relying on the Absolute Emperor, is also linked to their homeland. Their sacred place is located in the Four Sun Continent, truly a land of fire, extremely suitable for the survival of the Fire Spirits, nurturing countless geniuses—some even on par with the Absolute Emperor, with hopes of a clan with two or even three monarchs.”

“Keep in mind, a clan with multiple monarchs is a privilege exclusive to the human race. For countless years, demons have never achieved this. Not only is there never more than one monarch appearing in the same era, but never has there been a second monarch from the same race—simply because demon monarchs rarely fall, drawing from the luck and possibilities of their clans; no matter how high their talents, they cannot surpass their clan’s ancestors…”

“However, the Absolute Emperor wishes to break this curse, attempting to create a clan with multiple monarchs, pushing the Fire Spirits to the peak and even replacing the human race as the rulers of the Red Heaven.”
